Raffles Makati5.0 out of 5.0

Stayed 2 nights and could have stayed longer, this hotel is luxurious and deserves more than 5 stars. The rooms are suites and very spacious with fantastic views of metro Manila, the staff are first class, I did not open a door once for myself as staff were there to assist at all times. The afternoon tea, followed by cocktails are not to be missed they are complementary, the rose tea is delicious and the sandwiches, cakes are lovely, the cocktails are quite strong so watch out. The famous long bar is also a must, again fantastic cocktails and all the peanuts you can eat, the burgers are to die for, the best I have eaten. The breakfast is a la carte with wonderful views of Manila If visiting Manila, Raffles is the one to book
First time in Makati, and The Raffles is certainly one of the must welcoming and engaging hotels. The receptionist was very helpful and informative. As we arrive in our beautiful spacious suite, we had welcoming drinks and a warm welcome from staff. I would like to mention the incredible view our room had and the very pleasant beach room with such great amenities. We had an included breakfast which had a large selection of food . But overall, our experience was topped off by the professionalism of the provided staff and the luxury and quality of the rooms.
We stayed for two nights before heading down south to the islands and can highly recommend this hotel for great service, spacious rooms and a good location. The staff made a small mistake with our airport transportation, but more than covered that with an upgrade, free transportation from and to the airport and with overall great service. The location is excellent with just a short trip from the airport, which is valuable especially with Manila traffic being an absolute nightmare.
The waiters are nice very profesional (shout out to Karlo). Good drinks witch reserve's it's price. CLASSY! Love the place. They have good choices of wine where you can scroll. Just visit it, I'll shoot myself if I'm not telling the truth!
Stayed here for 3 nights. The service from all hotel employees was fantastic. Our junior suite was very nice with a very large bathroom and separate sitting room. Room was quiet with comfortable bed. Very good fitness center. Great selections for the morning buffet. Never ate dinner here. Enjoyable lounge on the first floor Writers Bar. Had drinks at the rooftop terrace which had good night time views of Manila. Would definitely recommend this hotel if staying in Manila.
Skydeck great place to start followed by Mireio Provencale restaurant Nouveau Cuisine style the seared tuna is great but you will need to add some dishes otherwise you may end up still hungry after the meal
Stayed for 3 weeks on a business trip in junior raffles suite. Definitely recommend hotel for either work or leisure. Supreme location right next to greenbelt. Great breakfast at mireiro (nice bar that joins to it for sunset drinks). Free happy hour 6- 8 pm daily at writers bar. Unfortunately only downfall are the desks and lack of ergonomic design/chairs for if you need to work there - in that respect the fairmont is better for their desks/chairs and working lounge but the raffles is great in terms of luxury/service. There are like 3 turn down services every day.
We stayed at the Raffles for 3 nights and there's really nothing negative to say about the property. We've also previously stayed at the Fairmont (which is in the same building) two years prior and so was able to compare (will get to that later). After checking in at the ground level, your assigned butler will lead you up to your room. All rooms in the Raffles are suites, ours was a jr suite (which was the smallest room) which had a parlour/foyer with a small dining table as you enter, and then a separate door to the bedroom. While the exterior of the hotel is modern (glass/steel), the interior of the rooms was designed to emulate features of the original property in Singapore. They have the old world wooden floor and a set of louvers that separated the bedroom and foyer. The bathroom though is modern and quite large, stocked with double sinks, separate shower and bath. The room was nice obviously but that's easily duplicated in other properties, including the Fairmont. What really sets the Raffles apart is their service. There's a multitude of little services that are included as part of your stay. As I've mentioned, you have an assigned butler who's apparently available any time of day. You get 2 items for pressing included in your stay (that's not mentioned in the website). You're also entitled to unlimited local landline calls. Food - You may need to watch your waistline as breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails are included in your stay. For breakfast, you have the option of having buffet downstairs with the Fairmont guests or having it at the French restaurant on Raffles' floor. The spread is more limited at the latter one but if you want a quieter meal that over looks the city, that's a good choice. They have pastries/bread/fruit out so you may serve yourself buffet style, then you can also order hot food (asian and western) off a menu. Afternoon tea is later held at the Writers Bar downstairs. The tea set (comprised of little sandwiches and pastries) is overly generous (i cannot stress the word overly) - you wouldn't need dinner. After tea, the Writers Bar switches over to evening cocktails. Needless to say, we knocked back several Singapore Slings a day (which may have contributed to the rating of this review) as the pianist played his tunes. Facilities - Raffles has its own pool but shares the gym with Fairmont. Raffles pool is long enough to do laps which puts it on the "good" list for me. Location - it's in the heart of Makati and directly across from Greenbelt mall so you're near both the offices and the nightlife. In summary, if all you care about is the room and location, the Fairmont is fine especially given the gap in price. However, if you want to treat yourself to luxury and have a more unique stay, then Raffles is the way to go.
My husband and I spent 10 days here in November while he was on business. The hotel is wonderful. A speedy and friendly check in, large tastefully decorated suites, High tea and cocktails daily. Kaye and Grace at the Writers bar gave attentive and friendly service daily. Great location to get to where you need to go. Amazing comfortable beds. The Raffles pool is a wonderful oasis and rarely crowded. I love Raffles for its boutique feel and the intimate service you get. You don't get lost in the shuffle like at some of the other larger hotels. Can't wait to return and try out Mireio. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat. And hope to stay here again on my next visit to Manila.
Noel Junior and Andrea at the "Mereio" wrapped the night. They were SPOT ON! I was skeptic at first in staying since I couldn't seem to find my food preference to pair with my cerveza. Junior went the extra mile and offered room service menu instead. I was very happy. The engagement is there/the sincerity. Noel, Andrea and Junior were impeccable! I will be back.
