Seriously, this is a great hotel to stay, very cozy with an intimate feel as one enters the foyer. It was cool, serene and peaceful. What a huge difference coming from the busy road outside. The staff are very friendly, all with smiles, including the bell boy, very helpful and cordial. Room is rather spacious, clean and nothing to fault except the noisy window unit air-con. We had a problem with the safe due to poor instructions on it but the staff was quick to rectify that. Bed was firm and nice, something I treasure as the soft lumpy ones were so saggy it's hard to have a good sleep. Love the little garden beside the breakfast area. Simple yet elegant. Breakfast is ordered a la carte with a mix of continental, Japanese and local. Highly recommend the Japanese version. Very fresh and tasty! The hotel is just across Little Tokyo, which serves some delicious sushi and sashimi; convenient spot for dinner if you don't want to venture too far. Definitely will be back again!
I worked hard the whole week thinking I could have a relaxing wkend at home, but an ignored memo from our condo admin re a power interruption fr 9pm fri to 9pm sat sent us packing at 1am sat. Herald Suites was nearby and accomodated us w a promo rate of $55 for a 10 hour stay w breakfast in one of their standard rooms. It was a beautiful room, huge tv, huge closet, complete coffee and good enough mini bar. Complete bath accessories w wash ball included. What really struck us was their reception area. It was really elegant, spanish themed, gracious front desk, had to mention that cos I was a bit nasty already w the relaxing weekend still not happening. But she was nice, as w the guard and doorman. Yes they have a complete staff too. Its really home away fr a nearby home, and w a regular rate of $130 its pretty not bad. If we were walk ins at a witching hour and got fabulous promo rates, imagine their regular promo rates. I always walk past this nice looking hotel, never imagining this experience would be like this and typing this up w my complimentary coffee in a hot tub smoking my marlboro lights and thanking all the other overbooked hotels in our area for leading us here. Will submit more room photos in a bit, just cant get out of the bath yet lol
Our room was very large and comfortable. It was very reasonably priced. It was clean and conveniently located from our relatives. The daily breakfast was good. We enjoyed the delicious garlic fried rice ever morning. The staffs were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the black tiles in the bathroom were creepy.
I would rate this five stars if hotel could provide unlimited wifi usage. Breakfast included but not buffet style as many other, they serve on your request (within the menu). But nice food overall. Request non smoking room at the time you check in (just remind). Most of people stay in this hotel are Japanese. Lots of Jpese restaurants around this place. There are some malls around too.
My family and I frequent the restaurants in your hotel, thus got to know your servers quite well. However, on one occassion that we ate there for lunch the waitress (grace) commented to my dad that she thought he was there for a date with the female companion we were all there with. That female was his secretary and the waitress made the comment in front of my mom. What made matters worst is that my children were with us. Maybe the hotel needs to train their staff in proper etiquette and courtesy.
this place my home in manila every time i stay in makati the staff are amazing take care of all ur needs will always stay here. they have a nice japanese resturant to. also lots of nice resturants near by
It used to be one of the good hotels. But I guess i remember what it was around 10 years ago. The rooms are damp and smelly. The TV and other amenities are out dated. It could improve a lot since it has one of the good location in Makati.
Did not like this place and the only reason it got 2 stars was the restaurant. Good food. When we first arrived we were not impressed as the first thing we noticed was a smell like it was old and wet. The room was worse. Two beds together to make a king but there was a very uncomfortable seam right down the middle so we ended up sleeping on one side anyway. The bathroom was very small and dark. Did I mention this place smelled? It really did. When we went to the bar to get our complimentary drink I ordered a Corona. I was surprised I could find that here. She brought me that and another domestic beer and then charged me $8 US. I was told that the complimentary drink was limited to certain drinks but was never told that. $8 a beer? That was more than I pay for one at home. Anyway, I tried to connect to wifi in the morning but couldn't. I was told I was already over my free allotment and had to pay for the rest of my stay. Ok. We left. We had planned a 4 day stay there. It wasn't a nightmare but it wasn't somewhere I wanted to stay either. There's more but I think this is enough. No thanks.
The hotel is slightly luxurious. It is located in front of Little Tokyo and very convenient. The price of the room is quite expensive if you do not have a special discount for corporations or others, but with discount, the price goes down nearly half. I recommend here only if you have this kind of discount.
Stayed here on our first 2 nights in Manila. I was disappointed it didn't have more activity around the hotel. There is a great local shopping centre within easy walking distance. The room we had was a suite as there was only a few rooms left. The room was very spacious but dated. There was free internet but coverage was not the best and did not cover the whole suite. The roof outdoor pool was great and enjoyed many swims in our 2 days stay.
