Beautiful room very comfortable and great pool

They were top notch! We were celebrating my sons 5th birthday they let us use the common area to celebrate since we were a party of 14. It was a way better option then trying to squeeze in one room. Then when my 85 yr old dad forgot his wallet they quickly contacted us and helped us get it back to him. The hotel was clean with really comfy beds- it was a really great stay! Highly recommend!

All Okay

Room was good just one tv was not working properly and waited a long time before someone finally came to fix it. Then we were not aware of the pool not being open until we arrived at the location which had a sign pool closed. So overall it was an ok experience.

The property was nice and the location is pretty convenient to other locations.

Our rooms were not available to us when we checked in and we had to spend the night at a different hotel they arranged for us. The second night, our room keys and rooms were still not available and it took over an hour to find rooms for our large group to sleep in. When I discussed the issues with a manager the morning we left, she apologized and promised to make it ok, but we have yet to receive our discount or completely resolve the situation. Traveling with 7 teenagers and 2 chaperones in 4 rooms. A huge mess

Good overall

Ultra clean hotel, comfortable bed, friendly staff, fast check in and check out, free coffee all day at the lobby, breakfast included.

Nice staff and pleasant atmosphere. I ended up in a handicap accessible room. It was clean and functional. However, there were some spots where the wallpaper was peeling. Also the TV remote was old and held together by tap. I still felt comfortable but others may not.

Next to an Indian Temple. Hours of drums and music, but quiet by night No decaf tea Staff did not have the personality for front desk staff

All good except breakfast. Breads were stale and warm foods were cold. Room was very clean.

We had a conference at the Sheraton, less than a mile away. The Fairfield.was 40% less and with complimentary breakfast, it just made sense to stay at the Fairfield. We were pleased with the room, the service.and the friendliness of the front desk staff. The weak link was the breakfast. Perhaps they need a second staff person when the breakfast is busy but the trash was overflowing, they were running out of forks, coffee stirrers, things you think could have been stocked ahead. You really need a staff person out supervising and wiping up messes. The waffle maker got gummed up and so that was a disappointment for many of the diners. They should have two waffle makers. Overall it was a good experience at a good price.

Hotel worked out great. There was a problem with our key not working when we arrived, as for some reason the door locks were all demagnitized and not working. We did not realize and made 3 trips downstairs to swap out another key card before the front desk realized it was the lock on the door and not the card causing this problem. They let us in our room and an engineer fixed it the next morning before breakfast. The free breakfast was great. Also used the work out room and pool, but was disappointed the jacuzzi was under construction, as that was something I saw working in the pictures when I booked he Hotel. The location, however, works the best for visit my family nearby and also going into NYC. I would definitely stay there again--staff was very nice and friendly, room was clean and comfortable.

Hotel is very nice, clean and provide good breakfast.

We looked at many different hotels before we settled on the Fairfield Mahwah. The main reason we chose that hotel was the front page of the description had a picture of a hot Tub and description of an indoor pool and gym. We were specifically looking for a place that had a hot tub, hoping to enjoy the warm relaxing water after a long day of cold skiing. When we arrived we immediately, within 20 minutes of walking in the door right after check in, went to check out the hot tub. What we found was a pile of rocks and rubble that looked like it was from the Fairfield in Syria. Completely destroyed and looked like it had been out of commission and a dangerous construction site for some time. So we called Orbitz right away and they got in contact with hotel management and requested a refund or replacement. We had paid extra to Orbitz for the Silver Trip Protection and we had just checked in so we were hopeful we would get our money back, but we were wrong. The hotel refused to refund us our money and we were forced to stay the night. We were able to cancel the rest of our trip the next day at that hotel aer the rtnd book a new hotel close by for the remainder of our trip, even though it was an inconvenience finding booking and then changing hotels when we were supposed to be relaxing and enjoying our vacation weekend. Orbitz said they would refund us our money after someone called after we returned home but i never saw anything in my bank account. Very disappointing.

Staff cold and not friendly. Unable to resolve problems and control unruly guests. We chose this hotel due to it's proximity to the college. My husband who needed his apnea machine and heart monitor plugged in had trouble due to the broken outlets in the room. Not enough lighting and the only lamp in the room is broken too. Dust is evident in corners and behind furniture. We thought we'll rough it since we just need to stay a night. But at 11 pm unruly guests came in slamming doors, loud conversations in the hallway, loud music next door , kids running and screaming. And heavy smell of weed permeating our room. 2 calls made to front desk were futile. After an hour we left. Never never again.
