Great location with clean room. Staff was friendly. Front desk allowed early check in when I arrived early in the morning. They helped to flag a taxi to the train station ensure and driver knew the destination I’m going since I don’t speak Spanish. Location was fantastic！close to shopping and food! Overall great experience even it was just a 1 night stay.
A nice hote in a great location. I stayed with my spouse and she was thrilled to find out that it is just across the street from Primark. The hotel is decent, the service is good and the price is reasonable.
The hotel is located perfectly for shopping, site seeing and generally getting around. But are the rooms small....it's like living in a closet. And to make matters worse we were given an oddly shaped triangular room with almost no window to speak of and a bathroom accommodated as an afterthought. After we refused to take it, because my husband has claustrophobia, they gave us another alternative which although the size was same, was at least a square shape. I really request ppl to specifically ask not to be allotted room 407. Or the hotel authorities please tell ppl about this room when they book.
Just came back from a 2 night stay at TRYP Madrid Gran Via for football and it was ideal for what I needed. A friend and I were looking for somewhere in the heart of Gran Via which this is and it was reasonably priced. Rooms are not the greatest but it was clean and sufficed, no fridge or kettle will put some people off but as I said I was pretty much just using it as a stop over for a couple of nights. One thing that was a bit grim was the fact that the area is full of prostitutes all day, saw a few guys bringing them in to the hotel without being questioned. Not judging them, each to their own but thought someone might have tried to stop it. It's not a great advert for the hotel.
Location is good. Other than that, the rooms are literally tiny, the linens are old and so are the towels. It’d be ok if it were a 2 stars hotel, but is not. If you wanna be right down town, not caring for confort or a clean decent space then this is your place!
I stayed here for 1 night during a travelling trip through Spain, the location was perfect, 2 second walk from the Gran Via Metro and in the heart of the City. The room i had was of good standard, clean and comfortable, wasnt very big but that is to be expected in a City, had a view of the street and i was on the first floor but had no noise from the street overnight. Breakfast was very good and more than adequate.I found breakfast staff especially friendly, reception seemed a bit confused but there was a trainee on so that is understandable to a certain extent, he made an error processing my payment but it was all sorted quickly. Reception staff were not the most welcoming and offered no information on the city or asked if i required any assistance or if i enjoyed my stay when i was leaving but it was fine for a short stay and i would consider staying here again.
Didn't feel safe as the hotel is right on the street anyone can walk in and get in the lift as the lift has no card access to the lift which is worrying . The staff were not friendly at all and no sense of urgency to help or even a smile at least. Very small room, no kettle or coffee machine and tv barely comes out for you to see as is attached to a side wall. I had to move to a new room due a noise Complaint from an alarm noise going off , re located and the noise still went off all night. Would not be back at all or recommend!!
This was a business trip and wouldn't have booked it personally but it was clean with friendly-ish staff, busy reception though, used be mostly out of town spaniards, you can not get more central, walking distance to almost every thing and if not you have a metro stop just out side.
Paid $350 AUD per night for no fridge, no tea/coffee making facilities, poor air conditioning, tiny room that barely fitted 2 suitcases, no table/desk to put travelling paraphernalia, noisy conversation clearly heard from next door. Had a back packers feel. It appears the "renovation" involved making rooms smaller to create more rooms. Cheap. Very disappointed. Will not recommend.
Rudeness is not part of HOSPITALITY business...super locaton and rooms destroyed by the terrible treatment of front office ! He had a very rude and creless approach making me wait 2 hours for the room, offering no compenastion or a welcome drink just telling the room is not ready
