Conveniently located, walking distance to Plaza del Sol, Plaza Mayor or even El Prado Museum, and over Gran Via, a street full of life and shopping opportunities. Rooms have noise isolation, but the street is so noisy and crowded that you will hear sirens and people yelling or singing on the street almost until dawn. The staff at the front desk is not really helpful, they will barely answer your questions in a rough way. The rooms are small but clean and confortable, the bathroom nice confortable and very clean. The complementary breakfast is good with fruits, a nice bread table, assortment of cheese, Spanish chorizo, Spanish Ham, Spanish Tortilla, and a nice view over Gran Via. Vending machines available 24 hours, for the days we were there they had ran our of water and it was not refilled so we had to go out for water. They one turn on the air con until summer is in, so if you happen to have a hot day in April (as we did) you won´t have air conditioning available (I understand this, it is costly to turn the huge machine for one day, and not nice for the environment). The lobby is small but nice and clean like the rest of the hotel.
Just returned from my Tryp Stay and I love it!!!! Stayed twice before and after my tour with VPT. Great staff ,very polite and fast service during my different check in process. Rooms are comfy and with great amenities. Breakfast was great and what I love the most was the priceless location. Staying at the Gran Via area is a plus!!!! You can walk to a lot of stores, restaurants, theater's, main attractions and landmarks such as Plaza del Sol, Callao, del Carmen, EL Corte Ingles Gourmet Experience, Mercado San Miguel, Hop on Hop off stops among others. I stayed at 3 different rooms but 803 was my favorite. When you are out most of the day out coming back to a comfy bed and a great shower with so many amenities is a huge plus. Mariana and Ruben were great helping me and also the guy from Security from Dominican Republic. Will be back next year. Thank You Tryp Gran Via!!!!!!!
After our stay at the Hostal Felipe V, I decided to make a radical move. We booked the Tryp at Gran Via. From the welcome to the farewell we were treated like royalty. Asked directions to the Figaro Theater and the directions were perfect. Asked for a restaurant to have a nice dinner and the recommendation of Ciudad de Tui Restaurant couldn't been better. Stay here, do not venture around!
very good in the dead centre of Madrid. Possibility to have a continental breakfast 05h due to an early flight out of MAD. Fast service checking in and out. Very clean and tidy. The reception personal very effective and swift.
I booked a superior double room, it was absolutely lovely. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was large and well equipped with amenities. The bathrobes were a lovely addition also. Breakfast was amazing, so much choice, and everything was so fresh. Only issue i had with the Hotel was the sound from the streets. I've slept in many hotels in London, on very busy streets, and I have never experienced such loud street noise as I did here. There is no soundproofing, so if you're sensitive to noise when sleeping, this is not the hotel for you. I was on the 4th floor, and my colleagues who were on the 2nd experienced the same. All in all however, its a great hotel, the location is superb and the staff were incredibly welcoming!
Small rooms. Good for spending a couple of nights max to take advantage of the location. But dont expect to have a pleasent time enjoying yourself in the room. As expected is very noisy so dont stay here if you cannot sleep with the sound of a busy city.
Very nice, clean and a great staff. Small rooms and very small bathroom. Great breakfast. Hotel is located on a very busy street filled with shops, restaurants and shopping. Can be noisy at night when you are trying to sleep. Terrible A/C.
Great Location near the most of highlights and points of interest. The service was very well. The breakfast was great and delicious with a variety of products. The rooms are so little but very clean. Probably stay the next time
This is the place where all action happens. Right in the heart of the city, gran Via is a hot spot for tourists. This hotel stand tall right in the middle. Good breakfast in the morning and then long walks across Street. Was fun...
The location can not be better placed for touristic reasons i'd say; right on gran via in front of telefonica building, we got there by metro all the way from the airport, very safe by the way, the metro entrance is a few steps from the hotel door. There are restaurants , tapas bars fast food joints all over the place, options were not short. The hotel itself is a beautiful European style building, staff was courteous, my room was " small" per se but just enough for the purpose which was to sleep and shower. The rooms are not sound proof as you could hear hallway noise clearly, and the cold a/c season had not begun so had to sleep windows open and "al fresco" since it was a little warm, so sorry for the neighbors who got a free show of me ! 😂
