I arrived at Chamartin late in the evening after a long flight from the US, and I needed a hotel for the night before setting out by train early the next morning. After seeing the room I was assigned, I was sorry I wasn't staying longer. For 110€ in central Madrid, across the street from the train station, I got a modern semi-suite with separate sleeping and lounging areas, two TVs, an exercise machine in the lounge area, a large, well-equipped bathroom, and breakfast included. One of the best bargains I've ever had in Spain. The only minor complaint I can come up with is that due to my early morning departure before breakfast began, all they could give me was a boxed meal to-go which was a sandwich and a couple of small industrial pastries. They really could have done better than that. Still the staff were very helpful overall and very tolerant of my broken Spanish. I would not hesitate to stay at the Tryp Chamartin on a future trip to Madrid.

Functional hotel: comfortable enough; not new, but well maintained; staff is friendly and efficient. Price was very reasonable considering other alternatives (60€ night without breakfast). It is next to Madrid Chamartin train station (less than 5 min walking), making it a very convenient hotel for a late arrival or early departure. Breakfast was diverse and good quality, although a bit overpriced, as in every hotel.

Big tower block close to Chamartin Metro which in turn is 3 stops away from the Bernabeu Stadium if you are a football fan. Hotel was clean, we didn't get the room we ordered so that was a bit of a downer. We were on the first floor and as such there was slight noise from the service road but not excessive. Room had a huge bed which was comfortable. Madrid was a beautiful city, with charming people. The Metro was clean and efficient and compared with the London underground a pleasure to travel on. It also employed Spanish citizens who were very helpful. If you are visiting Madrid for a long weekend then get a 3 day travelcard from Madrid Airport Terminal 4 for only 18/19 Euros (taxi fares start from 30 Euros from the airport). Had a great trip drinking and eating around Madrid and following Tottenham. We were treated so well by everyone and there wasn't a hint of trouble. Thank you Madrid a great trip and a good time had by all.

Great location for train next morning. Full breakfast included. Tamara, night bartender etc, was very attentive and charming. Reception staff seemed to do as little as possible, not helpful. Would stay there again.

I stayed in this hotel overnight. It was an excellent choice to get the train to the airport. The hotel is well-located next to Chamartin train station. The hotel room I stayed in was big, clean and comfortable. The bathroom had all the amenities you could think of and was big and clean. The people at the reception desk was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices.

Stayed in the hotel during a work trip to Madrid and had a very good experience. It is located next to good transport links useful to move around the city and the best of everything was the breakfast: the buffet had a great selection of savory and sweet food options, and the staff was friendly, polite and fast. My only 'complain' would be that the lifts are a bit slow, but overall I would recommend it and I will come back.

A very poor and disappointing experience. The room size was good and the room itself was clean and well maintained, hence my two stars. The view outside was of the migrant tents in the wasteland opposite which is not pleasant. The worst aspect however was the very poor service at breakfast. Because the hotel is busy (tourist coaches) the demand at peak times is such that there were no clean tables available, the tables were left with plates and food and in general service was poor. There was no coffee, fruit juice or cutlery available and the refilling of the buffet left a lot to be desired. This was not an isolated incident but was for all four days of my stay. The final frustration was trying to use a lift to access my room. The lifts are small and were full during the peak times, such that I ended up walking up and down floors to my room. It was either that or wait for extended periods of time for lift availability.

The Tryp Chamartin is a smart, no-frill place at the heart of the exceptionally convenient Chamartin transport hub, which gets you to the airport in fifteen minutes and the cultural centre of Madrid in ten minutes (Sol or Atocha on the 'cercanias' overground service). What is there not to like? The beds are sumptuously comfy, the hotel is generally very well maintained. The pool is huge and there is never a problem with finding a sunbed. We've been using this hotel for a few years now, and it's reassuring to be greeted by the same friendly and professional staff on each visit.

Myself and my daughter are just back from our trip to Madrid and we stayed in the Tryp Chamartin. The location of the hotel is brilliant for travelling to and from the airport and into the city as it is across the road from a large railway station. You can get the C1 train straight to the airport which takes about 15 minutes and costs only €3.50 one way. The metro is also at this station and takes 20 minutes to get into the city centre and costs €1.30 one way. I found it very easy to get around without using taxis. The area around the hotel doesn't have any good restaurants or bars or even a shop to get water. Check in was very slow but the gentleman was friendly. The pool doesn't open until 12 noon and doesn't have umbrellas to shade from the sun. The poolside bar isn't really beside the pool so you don't really bother going near it. The restaurant in the hotel was average but we did only eat there one night. There is no separate bar so therefore unless you found a nice restaurant in the city and stayed to have few drinks there was no place to sit and relax at night with a few drinks. We did eventually find a lovely italian restaurant about a 5 minute walk from hotel called La Mafia. It is located beside the tower block buildings. In the city centre we ate in a lovely restaurant called VIPS and another called Ribs. We went to a lovely market on the Sunday morning called El Rastro which sold clothes, handbags, shoes etc. Overall Madrid is a lovely city but if I was to go back I wouldn't stay in the Tryp Madrid Chamartin as its in the middle of the financial district and doesn't have enough restaurants around.

We stayed three nights and were very happy with this property. The location is directly across the street from the Chamartin Renfe/Metro station. Perfect for direct train to airport (15 minutes to T4) and metro to downtown (15 minutes to Sol L1). Rooms clean and comfortable. Restaurant open for breakfast/lunch/dinner. We had dinner one night...selection not great but adequate. Pool was clean with ample seating to take refuge from the Madrid heat. There is a small pool bar where you can purchase drinks and even paella with one hour notice. The front desk were attentive and quick with check in and out. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thanks for our great stay.
