There are two main train stations in Madrid and one of them is Chamartin. This is the apt hotel if you are traveling from Chamartin to anywhere as the hotel is just in front of the hotel. The rooms are spacious and gives a beautiful skyline view from high floors. just amazing. Its close to the high rise corporate buildings which adds to the view. Few good restaurants re also there just outside the hotel. Amazing stay.
1) Hotel is very nearby/walking distance from chamartin station. 2) Staff are very friendly and helpful. 3) They will give you a metro map which will be helpful if you are travelling by metro within the city. 4) They have some madrid tour bus also. You can book it from reception.
The hotel is really convenient if you are travelling into Madrid from T4 of the airport, and want to stay in Northen Madrid. Actual location looks run-down but much better once you've walked a couple of hundred metres. Rooms well furnished and beds very comfortable. But in May room was getting a little warm for us. Asked why the Air Conditioning appeared not to be working and was told it was 'not switched on until Summer'. Luckily our room was North facing but knowing that temperature in Madrid was 35 C yesterday I wouldn't want to be there now. Lifts are exceptionally slow. We bought the optional breakfast. Good choice of items but variable quality. The flasks of coffee and hot milk would be convenient to use except that everyone had a broken lid - not acceptable in any grade of hotel. Tip - access into the hotel and then to Reception are up steep stairs. If you have heavy cases there is a door into the hotel at ground level and then there's a lift. It's marked but easy to miss.
Our visit here was quite satisfactory. The room was clean and the staff kept it that way. Beds were comfortable and the hallway quiet. Breakfast was good and the variety typical for a hotel of this type. It is conveniently located. We would stay here again.
It's a little off for sure, but it is close to the train station as well as to the airport. Room was good, bed comfy as well as the pillow. The view isn't all that nice but it really doesn't matter too much.
Very nice, modern, comfortable rooms. Choose a suite to have a little extra space. Very comfortable bed. Close to the metro station which was perfect. View from the window not great but didn't look out of the window much so was fine.
As city centre and business district hotels go, the Tryp Chamartin is good value, but:- It looks like a block of flats. Although it's only about 300 yards as the crow flies from the main Chamartin rail station you will probably need more than one go at finding your way across the road, what with subways, escalators and flyovers. Its location is not enhanced by the adjacent presence of the tented homeless, but of course they have to live somewhere. However:- Do not be put off by references to the steep front steps. There is a ramp to the basement alongside, from whence you can take the lift to reception. The reception staff are kept busy in this large hotel, but they manage to keep themselves brisk rather than brusque. The rooms are large, with comfortable beds and a hospitality selection - not least the most highly polished apple I've ever seen. The evening hot and cold buffet restaurant gives excellent value. Recommended as a reasonable base. If you want to pay several times as much just to avoid a few stops on the metro into the city centre, by all means do, but we didn't, and we don't regret our decision.
Nice location, close to the Chamartin train and metro station, also you are able to walk to the Bernabeu stadium (15min walk). Good quality of service, and clean. Nice view and quiet place. Will be back for sure.
This property looks somewhat unpromising from outside, and the flight of stairs up to reception a bit daunting (I think there is a lift). The rooms are very spacious and well appointed, bed comfortable, good wi-fi, and a range of amenities. Reception at night can be a tad grumpy. I asked a rather basic question about my Melia card (never gets credited for any stay in Melia, Sol and Tryp properties) and discovered that reception as they couldn't find my card number just created a new account for me, without informing me. That rather minor incident apart, it is a good hotel, well located and reasonably priced. This is my second stay there.
The hotel was clean, the staff was professional and polite, very wel-qualified and approachable. This hotel is a 5 minute walk from Chamartin station and after we checked in we were on the metro and in the city center about 15 minutes later. Great value for the money, for a 3 or 4 star hotel in Madrid
