really nice, hip, modern hotel. excellent and attentive staff. would return.

Beautiful modern property in a convenient central location. Luxurious without being pretentious. Staff was gracious and bent over backwards to accommodate any requests and to make my stay as comfortable as I could've hoped for.

Everything was top notch! Great staff, great location, and very clean and comfortable rooms. Best experience!

We picked the Urban based on its location which is excellent, within walking distance of Plaza Mayor The staff was wonderful, the bartener makes a great margarita! The room was clean and very comfortable with a separate upstairs loft (very cool) and a nice bathroom We recommend the Urban!

The hotel is perfectly located and spotless - the perfect way to end a week in Ibiza and Formentera. The champagne on arrival is a nice touch and recommend a drink on the roof. While the gym was a bit disappointing, everything else excellent!

I stayed at the Urban recently. It is by no means a 5 star hotel however the staff is very friendly and the hotel is very clean. I would give it a solid 4 star rating. The Cons: Walls are paper thin so you can hear adjacent rooms. In addition, due to its African motif there is a distinct African scent to the establishment. Some might find it exotic, i found it a bit overwhelming. Bathrooms while modern are very small. Accessing Wifi can be troublesome on some occasions. The Pros: Great location, near several restaurants, walking distance to the Prado and Reitro Park. A 15minute walk or 5 minute taxi to Serrano and a 10minute walk to Plaza Mayor. Staff is very friendly (but service is no way near 5 star) and front desk/concierge was helpful regarding any requests I made. Has a great view of the city on the roof top. The price is affordable for what you get. Again, it is not a true 5 star hotel but it also does not charge 5 star rates. Overall: If you are looking for a more upscale 5 star experience I would stay at the Villa Magna or Westin Palace but if you are okay with staying at a hip, cool 4 star hotel that is very clean with good service you will not go wrong with the Urban.

Located near the major museums (El Prado, Thyssen, Sofia Reina), Retiro Park, Puerta del Sol and many restaurants, the Urban was a great place from which to explore Madrid. And the pool was a great feature after a day of sightseeing in July.

Very convenient location - walking distance to most must-see's. Rooms are starting to show their age (scratched floors, chipped sink, etc. For $200/night we paid for a standard room value was ok.

Staff was rude and unfriendly when asked to provide very simple requests (tell me an English language news channel or set up wifi). Free wifi is only for a continuous 90-minutes. This is outrageous in a hotel of this price. Then, when I did get signed on, the security was an issue and my email was compromised. Staff did not seem to care.

The pictures of the hotel are intriguing but they do not do the property justice! This is a beautiful "urban" oasis with top notch service, very clean rooms and public areas, and walking distance to the Prado Museum, Thyssen Museum, Plaza de Santa Ana, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel, etc. We look forward to our next visit and the friendly "hola" that we received from everyone at the Urban.

MY STAY AT URBAN WAS VERY COMFORTABLE AND FUN. THE HOTEL IS TRENDY YET COMFORTABLE. ITS FIVE STAR RATING IS A BIT OVERINFLATED REGARDING ITS LEVEL OF SERVICE. NONETHELESS, A SOLID FOUR STAR HOTEL!

This well-located hotel is beautifully appointed with lovely art pieces.

Good location - can walk to lots of places. Long taxi ride from airport - about 35 minutes in traffic. Interesting hotel. Small but well-appointed. Kinda dark though with window view of alley.

No children, gay friendly, Great price, incredible location, and cute staff.
