The good point - it was clean and a decent sized room. The rest - lousy and ineffective aircon - even if there were any instructions as to how to work it but we tried every setting and eventually resorted to opening the windows - noisy. But the noise was nothing compared to the fact the place seemed to be a schoolkids hostel - one had the feeling that by location this would be a business hotel - but a massive (dis) organised group of kids - returned to their rooms past midnight and then proceeded to slam doors, shout and generally be disruptive for at least an 1 1/2 hours after that. The bathroom - loose loo seat and the door stop was exactly where you put your foot for certain purposes by the loo - just plain bad management. Was going to use the word "sloppy" about the management but see below re the scrambled eggs. Breakfast - OK I suppose - unpeeled orange quarters and unpeeled kiwi fruit quarters, not the finest coffee in this world and the scrambled eggs were sloppy to be polite. The state of the carpets on the stairs was not even mentionable - ripped and filthy. There was no ability to leave luggage for the day at the hotel - they wanted a E30 late checkout fee t5o leave it in the room - tip - just outside the railway station there is a left luggage facility where you can dump a number of bags in a large locker for under E6 a day. Given the room was not cheap for Spain and we had stayed earlier in the trip at a magnificent Petit Palace for a similar price further into the centre of Madrid with a much better breakfast and absolutely no trouble about leaving bags for the day I would rate this place as pretty unmentionable and certainly would never return.
I've been there for a short night for work purpose. It's great room quiet (even near train station).Room is very well conception & very clean. People are great to welcome you. Bathroom is beautiful. So a very good stay
Staying here now. There is no air conditioning and the wifi is not working. The first person I spoke with said there is a law in Madrid forbidding air conditioning at this time of year. The second time I went to the desk, they told me there is no air conditioning in the entire hotel. My friends in another room have it and it's on in the lobby. There is no answer when you call the front desk. Not happy that I can't FaceTime with my little girls tonight.
To put it simply this hotel is greatly located with super easy access to metro, great reception personnel and reasonably priced. I have been there several times and it make is an ideal location for business or just your Madrid base. Clean and updated rooms with good selection of bathroom amenities.
At the reception the staff was really welcoming and helping. As for the price, it's ok. The only problem is the distance from the city center, even if the nearby subway station is very handy. Don't take cabs to town, they may charge you even 25 euros one ride instead of 2 euros subway ticket (and the time is the same or even more by cab).
About the same standard as a Travel-lodge, but room two-thirds the size, just about OK. A standard sized double bed. Comfortable clean and servicable but the "feel" was a bit basic eg floor covering is vinyl, no carpets/rugs. The main reason to stay here is that its literally 10 seconds into the train/metro station - its part of the same complex. Not such good value as the other cities in N Spain - but this is the capital.
The room we had, looked nothing like the image shown on TripAdvisor. The room was very dated, with no AC - just hot air! Opened the window to cool down and music was blaring until 3am. Breakfast was average. Only positive is close proximity to Chamartin station.
We were en route to see our daughter in the South of Spain so decided to stop at this hotel overnight as it was so convenient to Charmartin railway station. Our flight was a late one to Madird so we did not arrive at the hotel until 10pm. However there was a good selection of food available in the restaurant area near reception. We chose the Charmartin hamburger and chips accompanied by a glass each of the house wine. A great way to finish the day! Our bedroom was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep before a early start the next morning.
On forster appearances on the reception area it looked like a hostel however the hotel was clean nice looked after and the rooms quite spacious and modern. Most of the staff was very friendly and the meals not too bad. We liked the proximity to the train station and the Airport. I highly recommend to anyone e on a 1 to 2 day stay. When visiting Madrid again I will stay here again I think.
I highly recommend this hotel. The staff were friendly and professional. The rooms were neat and clean. The food in the restaurant was delicious. The breakfast buffet was great, I was there for three nights and would gladly stay there again.
