Stayed here for two nights whilst watching spurs play Real Madrid. Absolutely no complaints upgraded my room for me, great side view of the city. If you just need a base for a few days this was absolutely perfect. For the price as well you won’t go far wrong, never found the restaurant though!
I knew the room would be small, but I think I was a little surprised by it. We arrived early, but the room wasn't ready so we left our luggage and walked for an hour and came back. The staff including the cleaning ladies were nice. We had issues with the TV not coming on and they did switch it out, but it still would come on with a huge delay or not at all. And there were no channels in English. When we tried to change the language on the menu it was password protected and the receptionist didn't know how to fix it. The hotel room was quiet even though it was close to everything, so that was nice after a long day of sightseeing. There were many restaurants nearby with good tapas or good breakfasts. The locals are very friendly, but if you don't speak Spanish you may have a problem. Being close to the metro and the hop-on hop off bus was definitely a plus. Made it easy to get to the train station.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location. 눇No air condition from 8am to 12pm. The bed was a full size. The tub curtain fell down. The reception staff were unprofessional, except one that was present just once. They did not have insight the sign required by the Ministry of Tourism that tells customers they could file a claim, for which the police may be called. It was old and not well taken care of. We asked to move out right away but we were told that we have to pay for one night, so we decided to stay and when we checked out next morning they charged us €156, while the whole amount for 3 days was €308. They told us that they cannot give us a discount because we made the reservation through booking.com and not directly with the hotel. They offered us a free night but who would want to stay any longer in a hotel that is supposed to have 3 stars and one star is too many. For that matter, we immediately canceled our next booked hotel through booking.com and will think twice in the future before we use your services again.
I think the hotel is good if demands are realistic. Good side: the price is good especially for the great location: near metro, especially Gran Via (can arrive from airport, one exit says: Tres Cruces, also the railway station is near by metro), near historical places (Royal Palace, Plaza Sol, Plaza Mayor, Opera). It has Alimancion (=Elementary?) shop two steps on the left and a vegetarian restaurant across. Ask Artemisa plate for a pure vegetable low carbs, I suppose it is Kosher and Hallal. Air conditioning worked good enough especially taking into account > 40 centigrade in Sun. The personnel is friendly mostly speaks English, and one of them even knows also Russian and Hebrew and maybe more. The hotel provides breakfast in the nearby cafe. It is not noisy. The room had a balcony. On the weak side: no refrigerator in the room albeit you can ask in the lobby to put into refrigerator. The room and TV set are both small. But again prices and location!
I was in Madrid four days, and stayed in Anaco hotel. The best thing is that the hotel is located so close to the all different places in the city center, for instance a five minute walk to the Gran via or Sol metro station. You need a just about half an hour walk to the Prado museum, or Retiro park. So, location is really excellent. The hotel is not so attractive if you are looking the outside the building, but it is not so important since the location is the best thing. Even so, I had the meeting at the Veterinary faculty, and found an excellent bus connection number 133 directly to the meeting place, just 20 minute drive. The single room was small but clean, the air condition was constantly, automatically switch on.
Nice hotel with contemporary fixtures right in downtown Madrid. Everything worked in the room. Within reach of many attractions. Breakfast was cheap next door whether you buy with the room or pay on your own.
This hotel was booked for us through American Airlines. It looks good on the hotel web site and the lobby is not bad looking. However, our room left a lot to be desired. We arrived in 80 degree weather and their air conditioning did not work. The floor was really dirty and I was afraid to unpack. The bathroom was clean and the bed linens seemed clean but that overall feeling of not being clean was uncomfortable. We had a balcony that had bird poop all over it and there was no furniture on the balcony as shown on the hotel's web site. We stayed one night and moved to another hotel just down the street which was much nicer.
We were expecting small and quirky but it was just cheap, no frills. Rooms very very basic , great for a stag do but not for us. I think the people in the room across the corridor were having party. More of a hostel than a hotel. Very close to Gran Via and the Red Light area(?). Not for us, so we found something else more suitable for us. The photo of the reception area was accurate but led us to expect better rooms and facilities.
This is a 3 star Hotel located 50 mts to Gran Via, 2 blocks away from Puerta del Sol...PERFECT! It doesn't have a in room service, actualy it doesn't have an insite restaurante, and there is no coffee maker available but the location is just the best if you are alone and want to enjoy Madrid's night atmosphere. Blocks away from Tirso & Plaza Mayor.... Do not expect luxury, focus on the location!!!!
First off all: the Hotel is placed very close to Puerta el sol and Grand Via..the location it s very good(5 stars). the outlook of the hotel it s not so good...the reception also..but the rooms were nice and clean the wifi is working in the reception(very good) and also in the rooms(poor connection..but ok) the only thing that was terrible it s the breakfast...it s a restaurant near the hotel..very close..but they don t give you nothing...the breakfast it s a tea or a coffe...and a croissant or a toast with butter and strawberry jam..that s all..so dont book this hotel with breakfast..it s a waste of money!
