Another TMI hotel. Lack of accountability. Good luck if you have an issue at this place, their managers keep banker hours. Absolutely the wrong kind of place you would want to stay in. I only hope no one else makes the same mistake I made.
While traveling to south Texas from Boulder, CO, we encountered a heavy and sustained downpour and decided to take refuge at this Marriott facility. We were warmly welcomed by the night staff and were offered a room at the 3rd floor. I requested for a ground floor, if they still had one open, and fortunately they had one, which the night manager gave to us. Wi-fi was also available with no extra charges in our room. The room was clean and the beddings smelled fresh. Breakfast was available in the morning as is customary.
We just completed a one night stay while traveling through Lubbock. The beds were not the most comfortable and there was some maintenance that looked like it was due. The elevator broke when we were there so hoofing our bags down the stairs to check out. The buffet was also just okay, the fresh fruit was limited and not all that fresh.
Not a good experience. Long story short, make sure you double check your price when you check in. They took off one of our discounts on the room without telling us. When I contacted the manager, she said they did tell us. I double checked with my entire family and no one heard this. It was at the end of a long and very carefully budgeted vacation. We would not have just said "Oh, ok great" upon learning the price doubled. Also, if they had told us, we had other options like putting it in my name or staying next door. None of these options were discussed with us upon check in. If they had told us, we definitely would have asked about any other options before agreeing to take the room. I asked her to double check with her staff bc I don't think they are being truthful, but she stuck by the lie. That's what pushed me to write a bad review instead of letting it go, bc after all this I just got a sense that the staff here is very shady. They blatantly lied about telling us about the price range, and then the manager refused to do anything about it. She states that it is up to guests to understand Marriott policy, which might be the case with discounts and that is what it is, but I feel like any time your bill doubles, you should be told before you check out and automatically pay for it. Aside from all the bill trouble, I was a little concerned that so many of the problems repeated throughout the bad reviews listed here were still a problem when we stayed. Our room was given away and we were given the wrong key, tried to open someone else's door for several minutes. (This would have really freaked me out if I were that guest) The elevator was broken, pool closed etc. I thought the staff could have been friendlier when we stayed there but after communicating with the manager for a week, now I have no doubt. The breakfast was fairly good, so at least they have that going for them. I would like to add that we have not had any problems like this at any other Marriott location. Also while the manager here was borderline rude and frustrating to work with, customer service shared my concern about the shadiness of our experience and this location and worked diligently with me to get it corrected. I will continue to stay at Marriott hotels, but not this location.
Clean room, friendly staff. Limited on amenities...no microwave in room....but has a refrigerator. Had to negotiate with them to get the access code for wifi, even though I am a Marriott member. Lots of restaurants close within walking distance. I would stay here again for the price. Very reasonably priced.
We stayed for about a week. My husbamd came for work and I came to relax. The hotel itself was a little small. The elevator is tiny. The cart barely fits in there. The bed was comfortable but we had to ask to get it cleaned almost every day. The staff were nice. Our television did not pick up most channels I was interested in and when they did they would tile up. I asked the front desk about it twice however it was never fixed and I was never informed about anything they said they would get back to me about it. Free breakfast and they have an indoor pool and hot tub. Also upon leaving we noticed 5000 Marriott points were deducted during our stay. We called about it and now all we can do it wait for Marriott to call us back!
I spent last night here. The staff was quick and courteous. The room was very clean. The price was reasonable. The hotel was quiet and the breakfast was very good. I am usually good with finding something to complain about but today I am stumped. I guess that means that I will come back and I recommend that you stay here.
Good location with several restaurants walking distance and others within a short drive. Hotel was clean and comfortable and professional service. I will stay here next trip to Lubbock without hesitation.
First time to visit Lubbock, so certainly the first visit to this Fairfield Inn. The location is very close to many restaurants and there is a Walmart in the connecting parking lots. The parking was well lit and is shared with the neighboring hotel, but did not have any issues with that at all. When entering the lobby we were greeted by the very friendly staff. I was a bit taken aback at how cramped the lobby felt and front door was constantly opening if you were very near it and it was cold of course. So the check-in process was pleasant. We were in a hurry since we arrived late and had to attend a visitation that evening so we ran in and dropped our luggage, freshened up and left the hotel within 5 minutes of getting to our room. Upon returning that evening around 10:30 or so, we were exhausted after the long drive and were preparing to climb into bed, I pulled back the top coverlet and inspected the bed and to my dismay I found a spot of blood in the middle of the bed and then pulled the covers even farther back and found a mystery stain located dead center of the bed... (I do not want to even imagine what this was...) At this point I called the front desk and told the clerk that my sheets had blood on them and the clerk then told me that I could come downstairs to get a clean set of sheets. I was already prepared for bed, so my sweet husband had to get dressed again and walk to the front desk (since the elevator was not working) and pick up the set of sheets. As we pulled the sheets off we also noticed the large stains all over the comforter that is under the coverlet. After we scraped the sheets off the bed and threw them in the floor we made the bed. I will say that this experience with the sheets and comforter is the first time I have ever been in a Marriott property and this happen, this also made me very worry about the cleanliness of the rest of the room. I did not find any other issues with my room. When I informed the front desk upon check out of my experience I received an apology but I did not receive any other offer for a discount or anything else. That is not the response I expected. On a positive note, I do want to say that breakfast is really a great value with a great selection, there is something there for everyone.
We stayed here on our way to north Texas. It is on the loop not far from I-27/87. This hotel is an excellent choice, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, excellent breakfast. We were very satisfied and would recommend to all.
