The hotel stunk. Once I got to my room I was even more disappointed. There were bobby pins on the floor that I stepped on. Neither TV would work so I looked behind the one in the bedroom to check the cords. Behind the TV were several empty soda bottles. The sheets on one of the beds had several stains on them. I was only there long enough to change clothes before I decided I couldn't stay. I checked out and found another hotel. I am very disappointed. I chose this hotel based on the rating, but that is not accurate.

Ok hotel.

We have stayed here so many times before and this time we were really disappointed! The original building has become so run down. Our room ac was not working and the bed was uncomfortable. We have stayed in the annex and it’s much better. If we come back we will only request the annex.

No elevators. There was smoke smell in one room, got moved to another that had bedbugs and weird smells. Manager of the hotel refused to give a refund saying, “Expedia gets most of the commission and the hotel gets less than $10”. Expedia did a great job contacting ashmore hotel so they could sign a waiver so that we could get that refund. Do not go to this hotel no matter the price. It’ll save you some headache.

Nobody anticipated our arrival

I started to title this “you get what you pay for,” but cleanliness should never cost extra. The condition of the whole hotel was sad. There was clearly moisture damage throughout the halls with a poor attempt of fixing the peeling seams. The mattress (using that term generously) on the pull-out sofa was disgusting. We had to request sheets and pillow for it, and there was a ton of trash underneath that had clearly been there for a hot minute. The bath tiles either had mold or hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. There were missing light bulbs and the freezer was not only iced over, but something had spilled and nobody cleaned it up. The room was so hot when we walked in. Nobody had turned on the AC for this stay which had been reserved for a few weeks. We weren’t expecting anything fancy for the breakfast, but they didn’t even have hot water for tea - or cold water that we could have warmed in the microwave. Nobody felt comfortable and we had a long day of driving ahead of us. If it hadn’t been so late, and there weren’t so many of us, I would have complained. But it was clear that the girl working the checkin desk would not have been empowered to make changes. It seems so common place now, but note that if you are traveling with somebody with mobility issues, they do not have an elevator. When we pulled up, my son made a comment that this place was clearly haunted. The next day, we all agreed that would have been preferable.

Although the property was in need of updates; we enjoyed the help that Karime gave us ! She solved a problem with my wife's luggage and truly respects her position. However the other staff seemed misinformed did not communicate well. We went without a smoke detector in our room for 2 days after it was removed for battery replacement.

New furniture

My check in was pleasant however I learned the next morning that I was marked as a no show even though I checked in at 324.. the room I was originally placed in smelled horrible stale and of cigarette smoke. I requested to move. My second room was a bit better. But the cleaning was mediocre. The ac area is filthy never cleaned nor dusted. The desk was falling apart and none of the sockets on the lap work to charge items. The carpets were not that clean either. They felt sticky when walking on them it’s quite gross.

New furniture and cleaning needs to be done

I was not properly checked in when I arrived. I was marked as a no show .. had to get that corrected. Had to be moved to a different room as it smelled of stale cigarettes. The second room was ok. The bathroom wasn’t very clean hair on the valve to turn water on. The carpets were sticky when barefoot. The ac’s have never been cleaned or dusted. The furniture was broken. None of the plugs for the lamps worked.

The room was despicable, dead roach in the closet area, dog food on the floor(we were not traveling with a dog), dog hair on the carpet, hair on the bathroom floor and tub edge, stains on kitchen counter, no cutlery in kitchen, no kitchen towels or paper towels the freezer was filthy.

The room was dirty, it had ants,dog poop,and shower didn't work. The whole building was dirty. I got asked to shower in another room and i left, i ask for a refund and of course they said no. I really don't know how they have 4 stars when all the reviews are bad.

Hotel is ready for a major update. Room was clean but showed signs of wear. A/C was off when we went in room and room was hot. Room started to cool off and then got warm again. Staff responded promptly but said A/C compressor was going out so you can’t run it full blast. Hotel has no elevator- must walk your bags to 2nd floor. OK for one night but wouldn’t want to stay longer.

Our family has stayed at Ashmore Inn for several years. The location is very convenient to shopping, restaurants, and university events we attended. The property is located slightly further back from the access road than most hotels, which makes it feel more secluded and helps tremendously with road noise. The value for the money is excellent! The hot breakfast was very good. The staff was helpful and friendly. My only complaint is the condition of the mattress -- it was very hard, dipped, and uncomfortable, which interfered with sleep, even after a seven-hour drive. An upgrade in mattresses would make this wonderful hotel truly shine!

Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean. Beyond that, not a comfortable stay. No smoke detector, broken locks, clogged bathtub drains, red stains on bathroom wallpaper, pool water and pool floor was too gross and chipped to use, weight room equipment was mostly broken or not fit for use.
