Beautiful lobby but rooms need renovation

People were friendly and liked that it was pet-friendly

Very overpriced lamenities, a 20$ sub par breakfast buffet, 15$ drinks that seemed to be devoid of alcohol Our friends stayed literally across the street had complimentary drinks, breakfast and paid 1/2 the price ...n I wish we had to

Elegant historic hotel. All was fine considering the age and character of such a hotel.

Excellent location and historic , beautiful building.

This is a fabulous historic hotel. Beautifully maintained & right in the heart of the action but yet quiet & secluded inside the hotel. Right next to 4th Street Live!

Gorgeous lobby and handsome rooms! It takes you back to a bygone era. The rooms aren’t overly large but they’ve done a fine job d modernizing an old hotel. The staff is most The hotel is well situated. We enjoyed walking through the next couple of blocks to enjoy nightlife in Louisville.

Liked the location - staff was very friendly - small rooms but it’s historical

The Seelbach rooms, although beautiful in the historic context, need some updating. Especially the bathrooms. Staffing seemed to be cut back and the valet guys didn't have a lot of training in customer service.

Great location, in the heart of downtown within walking distance to everything. Only problem is the Hotel is undergoing some remodeling. Having said that, the Hotel staff was phenomenal and has a tremendous amount of character.

When you stay at an historic hotel you expect that there are certain modern amenities that cannot be accommodated but the character and charm make up for it. But the service was hit or miss, they seemed overwhelmed at the front desk, the restaurant and valet parking. The signage and directions around the facility were poor. The bar lacked any charm and the conference being held their made the hotel unpleasant and unruly for those visiting the city and trying to enjoy the hotel. Lastly, the amount of public smoking in the city of Louisville was shocking. It’s been a long time since I have traveled to a spot with so much smoke.

I had read reviews about the size of the rooms so it was not a surprise but the historical charm of the room and really the whole hotel makes this a must stay at hotel when you are in Louisville. It is like stepping back in time and well worth it.

The building was a great piece of history and is a really nice authentic old style hotel.

Thank you for providing us with feedback about your recent stay. We are very proud of our historic hotel and lobby. We are actually scheduled to undergo renovation very soon! It was originally set to start in May 2020 after the Kentucky Derby, but unfortunately Covid put a damper on those plans. We hope to see you again very soon.

I apologize your experience at the Seelbach Hotel did not meet your expectations. The experience you describe- subpar breakfast and cocktails- are certainly not indicative what the great majority of our guests encounter. I will be addressing your concerns with our Food and Beverage Director.
