This was a short two night stay before heading off to the Socorro islands diving. The room was excellent with fantastic views and spotless. A lovely touch with the plate of delicious nibbles and the drink on arrival. The food at the restaurant was great but servce needs to be a little better. We also ate at the Container which again was excellent and better service.
Hotel El Ganzo is a very special place to enjoy a romantic getaway, a relaxing vacation, and to experience the unique and artistic flare of this musically inspired hotel. The hotel offers simple elegance with a hip flare to it. Its quiet location is quite special as it is located on Puerto Los Cabos Marina and removed from the row of larger hotels found further west in San Jose Del Cabo. The El Ganzo Beach Club is gorgeous and the solitude found walking the beach to the west is simply amazing. Our daily routine included a workout in the gym, riding bikes around the marina to The Container Restaurant and the El Ganzo Beach Club. The Container has a great view of the marina and was an excellent choice for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even just cocktails. The El Ganzo Beach Club has become our favorite place to simply relax in the sun, swim in the ocean and enjoy a delicious late lunch on the sand! Israel, Alejandro, Larisa and Chefs Fernando and Santiago are fantastic!! Both of these restaurant locations offer fresh seafood, local Mexican food dishes as well as more traditional American food options. You can't go wrong at either of these two restaurants! Activities in the area include fishing, diving, golfing, bike riding, ATV rides, horseback riding, swimming with dolphins, whale watching, etc. If you are looking for a large pool, tennis courts, and 24 HR room service then this is NOT the hotel for you. On the contrary, be ready to summerse yourself in a very special Baja experience that is not duplicated elsewhere...We highly recommend Hotel El Ganzo!!
Not only did the crew at the beach side bar make our day with their incredible hospitality, they went over and above when Oscar, the manager assisted me on a crazy bike ride/hunt to find my phone, which had fallen out of my pocket. Incredible food, try the Watermelon Gazpacho, and cocktails by the friendliest bartenders, and chefs we encountered on our adventure to paradise. No bad days at Hotel El Ganzo. P.s. Ask Oscar to tell you a Hipster joke when you visit and take a pic with the Saner piece by the bar!!!!
Been to the Ganzo Rooftop a few times now, and they still have a lot of problems. The place is fabulous and doesnt deserve this type of service. We arrived at 9h30 AM and it took 1 hour for the waiter to aproach us and offer us drinks. He apologized telling us he was alone to open the bar and had no prep ready. Any ways... i usually stay all day through till 6PM and all daythe service was very slow, I mean really really slow, we had to wait one hour for our sushis to be served. The MOD (grey hair fit guy) was enjoing drinks with 2 of his friends on the longchairs while the waiters where strugling with all the orders. The prepared drinks are crap... very simple... Kind of allinclusive hotel drinks At the end of the day the waiter once again apologized to us for the delay of all the service. I really think the F&B, if there is one, should be more involved in the service, as I can read on a lot of comments below I am not the only one complaining about the same issues. The Chef aswell should care more about the food quality he serves... No supervision at all...
We were there for my nephews wedding for three events. First event not enough food! Very bad service nobody knew if they had enough food. Second day wedding day, food OK not for a hotel that is charging the prices they are charging. Again not enough food, when the station were empty it took forever to be refill them. Next day breakfast, again not enough food and very poor service. When I talk to the manager he promise to bring coffee, he did after and hour. The waiter very very rude.
I had been to El Ganzo before the hurricane and when it had recently opened and I had found an almost white wall clean facade hotel with good rooms and amenities but poor food and service. Heck, I even spent New Year Eve 2014-15 there and things had not brightened up food or service wise. This time, I arrived at 5PM. The cool white facade already had too much going on. Apart from the Basquiat Style orange crown, it had like 6 painted Gene Wilders dressed as Willy Wonka greeting you at the entrance. Very weird... It just clashed with the location and the place. I had booked via hotels.com and the check in was swift. As we approached the elevator, I saw they had a gift store but it was closed. Around the elevator there were some rorchard style paintings poorly hanging on the walls near the restrooms. The elevator took forever and they only have 4 floors. The buttons of the elevator are upside down, or opposite... the PB (planta baja or lower floor) is actually the rooftop and pool area. As we walked towards our room, we would find little arsty interventions on the walls, and on the room numbers, but if stuff was hung, it was all crooked and not secured which defied the purpose of hanging the stuff. The room was the cheapest room with a King Size bed (no balcony), but it had beach view. All of them do. The size was perfect. They had a tub, a good showerhead with nice water pressure, homemade toiletries, good linens, and comfy seating options. It did have TV but no smart options (No Netflix, Youtube, etc) which I think many of these luxury hotels should have them by now. Good thick curtains and glass to prevent the noise. All good there. The gym was great. It had technics machines, a space for a whole beauty parlor operation, yoga by appointment, a well appointed spa, and another pool for adults in the lower floor and in front of the gym. The service at the bar wasn't great. The music in the pool deck was on point but there was a street fair and it clashed horrendously. They didn't put much attention to detail. We brought the welcome drinks (which were quite sugary) to our room and left them there. There was a little tray with chocolate truffles and walnuts that looked like week old... and when they suppossedly go and untuck the bed and get it ready for us to sleep, they forgot to take all the dirty glasses and those old sweets. Plus, as walked around the halls, we would see lots of room service trays and they were there in the morning as well... I the morning we had breakfast there, but the waiter was just not so good. He had two other waiters backing him up, but they were all really stupid and would be pushy or all over you in the wrong moments and when you needed them, they were just talking or joking around. The food was pretty unimpressive and expensive for what it was.
I stayed for four nights at El Ganzo with my daughter for a mini getaway. The hotel was fabulous and the service couldn't have been better. We liked that it was in a quiet area, away from the hotel zone. Our room was on the first floor with a terrace overlooking the marina and private beach across the inlet. The roof top pool is amazing and Edmundo was a fantastic server at the pool bar. We ate breakfasts in the restaurant with Levi as our server who was very efficient and polite. All of the employees were courteous, always said hello and were always willing to help and answer any questions. We also rented a car and the free valet parking was appreciated.
I wanted to stay here because of all the artwork on the walls. The artwork is painted on walls all over the hotel. The pool is on the rooftop and the hot tub is glass on three sides. The room had a patio with rocking chairs. If you want to go to the beach, they have a boat that takes you for a short ride over to the beach. There is a bar there and chairs and umbrellas. A great place to stay.
I came to Cabo with my mom and sister and we actually stayed at Secrets Los Cabos; however, we were disappointed that we were unable to have any beach access due to open water. The concierge sent us over to Hotel El Ganzo suggesting them for beach access with chairs and a bar. We didn't know much about the hotel and were VERY pleasantly surprised. We pulled up in a cab and were greeted by Alejandro at the front desk who took great care of us. He escorted us to the boat where it was a quick 60 second drive over to the restaurant/bar and beach access area. It was beautiful! It was quiet and the water was wonderful! The servers that were working between 10am and 2pm on Sunday 6/4 were fantastic. They were quick to welcome us and bring us water and drinks. The drinks were wonderful and the food was even better than the food at Secrets. We were blown away by this quaint quiet spot to enjoy the ocean. Even though we weren't staying, everyone was courteous and kind and helpful. From what we saw, the hotel was actually VERY hip and cool with the amazing paintings and decor. We loved the storm trooper painting on the rooftop by the pool! Thank you for taking such great care of us for the few hours we were there. They made the trip even more special than it already was.
fabulous room overlooking the marina. loved the pools both the private pool and top pool and bar! loved the artwork throughout the hotel. loved the music played in the evening. The best moisture lotion supplied in the rooms ever !!
