We liked that our rooms had views of the Sea of Cortez, the rooms each had king beds and they were amazing, loved the linens, robes were nice, lots of space for our family and loved having two balconies with views of the Sea of Cortez and beach. Also loved having our own refrigerator and coffee maker. It makes it easy to have your own refreshments in the room. Plenty of space to store your luggage and lots of closets and drawers for clothes. The bathrooms were beautiful and also each had dual sinks and large walk in shower. Drinks and bartenders at the Coralline bar near the very last pool were excellent, but the drinks at the swim up bar in the middle were meh and bartender was ok What we didn't like was the location was far from everything in Cabo (nightlife and stores etc) so if you are looking for a place that has entertainment and etc this not the place for you. But if you are looking to just unplug and relax then you may like this. We didn't like layout of the property because our rooms were closer to the beach but far from the lobby/front entrance and it was a trek to get to our rooms after site seeing/going out on the town in Cabo San Lucas but the gardens were beautifully maintained. I am not sure if it was because we did not have a weekend stay, but there was not much entertainment/theme nights during our stay. Also this place tries to sell you timeshare. You also have to pay each night for valet parking, no self parking available.

The only thing I wish I had known in advance is that there is not swimming beach. The rest was idyllic, the staff simply amazing.

Great experience will return. Beach is close by with multiple pools. Rooms are modern and up to date. Had a private jacuzzi on my balcony

Every room is directly on the ocean so you cant go wrong with the views. The pools are narrow and shallow, but the infinity edge right up against the ocean is beautiful and relaxing, not to mention the swim up bar. Service was excellent, as there seemed to be 4 staff members for every guest. The buildings are lodged between two large hills that perfectly blends in with the desert landscape. My only complaint is that the ocean is very rough at that location with constant red flag conditions. You'd have to drive about 10 to 15 minutes up the coast to Chileano Bay to get a good beach for swimming and snorkeling. Also, there's not much for kids to do here other than swim in the pools. But that makes it a great place for adults.

The Westin is in a great location in Cabo. It's a little closer to San Jose than downtown Cabo but the hotel is a reasonable price for what you get. Hotel is clean, rooms are spacious and every room has a balcony. The only complaint I have is during the busy weeks the staff if very slow, and while I speak some Spanish, the language barrier can be an issue when getting correct food. Note: prices in Cabo are fairly expensive and cabs are a lot (tax rate increased from 11 to 16% come 2014). If you ride with a group it's much cheaper since it's a flat fee based on location regardless of number of people in the cab. Activity concierge is very helpful and prices include transportation to and from.

Very nice experience. It was relaxing and we experienced watching a whale.

General Thoughts & UPsides: One is first struck w/ the ambience of the place when you check in... very friendly and obviously well-trained staff greet you in an open-to-the-air lobby. Our reservation was messed up - we were listed as a parent and child (vs. my wife and I), so we asked to be switched from a 2 Queen room to a King. We were told "no problem" ... but that we'd need to wait while such a room was made ready for us. We were offered a cool drink (fresh-squeezed lemonade for us) as we waited in the relaxed outdoor lobby, a balmy wind blowing off the Sea of Cortez below. The architecture is the next thing that grabbed us... a very unique style that is unlike any resort we've been at... although all the walkways take a bit to figure out in getting around. A plan view map of the hotel would be a nice addition at check in. The architecture is also unique in that ALL the rooms have a totally awesome view of the pounding surf. We had a "partial" ocean view... but there wasn't much partial about it...drifting off to sleep and awakening with the sound of the surf was delightful for us. A possible caveat re: the beach. Dangerous undertow flags are posted most of the time so there isn't much swimming in the ocean. In a week stay, we saw people swimming and body surfing 2 out of 8 days... and then for only a couple hours. However, for us, the pools were fantastic, and we utilized the beach for walking and gazing at the surf. The room (a King, partial ocean view) was beautiful... the bed super comfy... and the bathroom/shower reminded us of a stay at a Kohler resort! All of the staff we met were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Some were over-the-top in their training and service attitude. Someone has done their job well. All the food that we had was good... but VERY pricey [e.g., American Breakfast = $19/person; Buffet = $36 {$52 for seafood night}; Nachos = $14 (one of the cheaper menu items, which we shared); Soup = $15; Salmon entree = $30; Hamburger = $17; coffee w/ meal = $5;... you get the picture]. Would suggest all-inclusive option if offered... or... share meals. Downsides: > Surf too rough for swimming (see above) > Food is WAY over-priced > Only mini-golf and tennis equipment are complimentary... but old, beat-up and in serious need of replacement. > "Complimentary" in room coffee... is only complimentary the 1st day! The in-room coffee tastes lousy, and they'll charge you $3/coffee packet after the 1st day. Seemed pretty chintzy for a Westin Resort. Ergo... BRING YOUR OWN COFFEE. > Location is absolutely GREAT for relaxation... but requires transportation to either of the two towns of San Jose Cabos or Cabos San Lucas. > Transportation by taxi to town, or to some of the tours is a killer - $35 one way. Better to hop the bus (stop located @ hotel driveway) and pay $2-$3 bus fare. > NO HOTEL SHUTTLE. It's hard for me to believe that a resort like this would have no airport shuttle, nor shuttle into town... but there is none. Overall - I'll give 4 stars.

Hotel looks very nice and the colors blend in with the red rock. The ground are well kept too. Rooms are quite comfortable with a nice view of the ocean and huge shower. The pool area is large and its a great view of the ocean; only problem is the waves are too strong, so you can NOT swim in the ocean here. Our main problem was the hotel's food was not good, even at their expensive restaurant(it was just ok). [We had 1 dinner and 1 breakfast here over 5 days.] For example, lattes at breakfast were made via machine, not barista, so it was very watered down and expensive. I would not recommend eating at the restaurants, money better spent at local shops.

Pros - beautiful views - nice pools - awesome breakfast buffet - room was nice and clean - adequate gym Cons - very remote - very expensive to take a taxi into town ($36 round trip to San Jose) - ongoing construction while we were there. No mention of this when we booked. - hard to get around resort. Random stairways and ramps. Overall, don't feel like we got what we paid for.

We really enjoyed our time at the Westin, Los Cabos. It was a nice getaway and the staff made our trip very enjoyable. The location is close enough to everything we wanted to do and the amenities allowed us to stay put most of the trip. Food was over priced for the quality, but that is to be expected at a higher end resort. Overall it was a great trip!

Beautiful resort, perfect weather, VERY helpful staff! Would return in a minute!

We stayed at the Westin for 8 nights in March and throughly enjoyed our stay. The resort is one of the most architecturally stunning places we have stayed. The lobby building is separated from the accommodations building so that, when you walk into the open air lobby, you have an unimpeded view of the magnificent arched main building framing the gorgeous blue-green ocean. Getting around the resort should not be a hindrance unless you have walking issues even though there are varying levels. A cart is available for getting around if needed. We ate at the signature restaurant Arrecifes and had a great fish meal. We also ate at La Cascada and enjoyed a very well made Mexican buffet with many fresh offerings. We rented a car for maximum flexibility of getting to both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose. Others chose to take taxis. The employees were wonderful, warm and helpful in every respect. I would recommend this resort without hesitation, and we hope to return.

Service was awesome at Westin. They also has a private and quiet beach. However I don't like the bathing in the room as the water gets hot and cold...

The hotel was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and responsive. The room was very comfortable, and we enjoyed watching the whales from our balcony. Great shower. Comfortable bed. Great air conditioning. Meals were varied and pleasant. Lots of options for sun or shade, quiet or partying, beach or pool. My husband enjoyed the spa.

The Westing was the perfect place for just a little R&R needed. You have your own beach and the pool area is amazing. The only negative thing that I have to say, it there is only on place to eat breakfast and it is a buffett that isn't that great. I suggest ordering room service, and it is cheaper.

Overall the hotel and staff were exceptionaly nice. A couple of the staff members went above and beyond to make our vacation extra special, Jaime and German from the bar staff were awesome. Alex in the spa was also exceptional. My only complaint is with the undisclosed 15% service charge at the spa! I have never encountered this type of charge in any spa any where in the world in the last 20 years. It was explained to me (post-service) that the tips are shared by all. I appreciate the concept but the person who is actually providing me the personal service (on which a tip is normally based) should not only receive 5% of this 15%. Also, the rude, unprofessional desk staff made me wait after my service for at least 20 minutes while they took walk-ins and answered calls. Rude! Then I am hit with the 15% "house fee" - please! I am an extremely generous tipper, especially when services are fantastic. What motivation is there for the masseurs or estheticians to provide superior service if they have to share their tips with the receptionist? For example, would the fee of an attorney (for example) be shared with his receptionist? Not in my world!! So, this fee needs to be disclosed up front and on all spa literature in the hotel rooms. Obviously, I am still not happy about this fee. I still tipped $60 on top of the 15% fee (for a total of about $130 tip!!! - almost as much as the service of $177 we each had); but, I am really unhappy that the rude desk folk get to take a cut of the tip. Please re-examine this policy it doesn't make sense and is not an industry standard.

We wanted a Los Cabos resort where we could just relax beach-side. The Westin was perfect! We didn't need to leave the grounds for four days, but did on short visits to Cabo San Lucas - 20 minutes away - and San Jose del Cabo - 10 minutes away. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and service around the pool attentive but not overbearing.

The resort was very quiet when we were there but it can get noisy when they have large corporate groups (since it's a Westin they do get these groups). We just relaxed while we were there and never left the resort. Total of 6 adults and 2 one-year olds. Get the all-inclusive if you can, it's well worth it. You get Westin quality food with no limits! Staff are great, resort is spotless and well maintained and there are tons of pools. Beach is not swimmable but still beautiful to look at and walk on. The resort is beautiful. Pictures of the main hotel building don't do it justice. Try to get a room as close to the centre of the building as possible so you can get the best view.

I loved the location of the hotel, its right in the middle of cabo and san jose. Cant wait to go back.
