Valet Parking is required and it is $39 per night. We were not told the hotel was under construction until check-in, when they informed us that we would hear the construction early in the morning. We also had to walk through construction zones to get to our room. Rooms are very nice, but the first room we found someone's knife left on the couch so that made us question how well they cleaned the rooms.

Construction..poor attitudes from dinning room staff

The staff was very good however our room was run down and although we were told there were renovations coming to me that does not justify what we paid. There was construction happening at the hotel and we’re not informed that this would be happening until we arrived. $39 per night for parking is excessive. To me parking is a necessity and should be included in the original price

Great view of the ocean! Wonderful pool and work out facility and great coffee!

Valet was great. Cookies were delicious. Front desk was helpful

A "roadside inn standard" for rather a lot of money, but that's unfortunately normal in the LA area. The worst insult was a seriously overpriced valet parking only.

Nice clean hotel, great location and friendly staff

Most likely because I declined an upgrade, I got a very improper room for a guest (it may be used as a facility room) in the corner, having a very long hall, small, with an awry shape and non functional. Stay away!

Good location - walking distance to everything, great staff. The hotel rooms could use some updating.

Great central location to Santa Monica downtown area and pier. Walking distance to Venice Beach as well.

If you want to stay in downtown Santa Monica but not right on the beach, this is a pretty good choice. The hotel is modern and well-maintained, and the property is within walking distance to most restaurants and businesses as well as public transportation. (Only downside is that it sits right on the 10 Freeway, which can be busy and noisy.) The hotel is a bit of a panopticon - if you have an interior room, remember to draw your blinds or someone will end up peeking in on you. Front desk staff seemed overwhelmed when i checked in and checked out, but this didn't otherwise affect my overall stay.

Close to train station but a good walk to downtown. Not in scenic upscale area. Rely on uber if you don't like to walk.

Dear Guest, Warm greetings from all of us in Santa Monica. It was a pleasure to welcome you to the sun and sand of Southern California and we appreciate you taking the time to share your review. While we hope our ideal location served you well for exploring all that awaits just beyond our front doors, we are sorry to learn that your first room was not perfectly detailed to greet an arriving guest. We thank you for bringing this to our attention and we trust that your second room served as an ideal home-away-from-home. We thank you once more and we look forward to you one day visiting again so that you can experience our new rooms which will make their debut later this year. Warm Regards, Doubletree Suites Santa Monica
