Great property and staff but outrageous resort fee

I wish the roof top pool was open during my stay.

We booked the property because of the pool as we had our kids with us. With short notice, we were informed the pool and deck were out of commission. A huge bummer and we would have looked to find another venue if we had known in time.

Rooms are not up to Andaz quality. Have not ever really converted from its old Hyatt format / white box. The roof and pool were closed. Bar closed early. No food at restaurant during day.

So the pic that attracts you to this property is of the pool. It's LA, so lounging by the pool was top priority. When I checked in, they told me the pool was closed for the duration of my stay. This was not mentioned when booking. So, they put me on the PH floor because being on Sunset can get kinda loud (there are earplugs provided in the room), so after I checked in I went to my room to rest before an event I had that night, I heard nothing but drilling and loud construction, which they were doing on the pool. Another thing that could have easily been said but wasn't. I definitely feel like I excessively overpaid for this experience and that there was a serious lack of proper communication from the staff, to the point of being surreptitious. Also, don't expect coffee that doesn't cost you $5 and they will not bring it to your room. Very disappointed, and I am easy going, would expect someone that was a little more high strung to have abandoned this place completely after this experience.

We were staying in a suite and connecting double queen room for my husband's 50th birthday. I requested balloons and champagne to be in the room the day we arrived as we were arriving very late and spoke to someone also to ensure this would be done. However these were not in our room when we arrived at 2:30am which was very disappointing. The manager did reach out to me to rectify it and the balloons and cake were put in our room the following day and no expense to us. Which was good. The rooms were excellent and kept very clean throughout our 6 night stay.

Best hotel on the Sunset Strip. Roof top pool & views are incredible.

The reception staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The first night, our next door neighbors were loud partying and lsitening to music late at noight. I called the front desk. They immediately sent someone to calm them down. The ambiance of the hotel is contemporary. Location is ideal - between the upscale Beverly Hills and the tacky and touristy East Hollywood. Dining options are somewhat limited but we enjoyed great breakfast every morning. Overall, an excellent stay.

Great hotel & location. The roof top pool & views are top notch. One of my favorite LA hotels, hands down.

Great concept, liked the free snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Location is great

Hotel is in a great location and the staff were excellent. The food at the restaurant was just ok but Not a reason not to stay. I’d go back.

Great spot to explore Hollywood. Clean Hotel with lots of history

Excellent location, friendly staff. Especially loved the no charge for non alcoholic beverages and the snacks in the room.

Complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and snacks in the room & free bottled water and juices available at reception.

Perfect environment in the hotel. Nice staff. Good location.

Loved everything! Happy Hour from 5-6pm (free wine)! Snacks and all non alcoholic drinks in the room are free! Motion center lights when you get up in the middle of the night! Relaxing lobby! Coffee cake, coffee in the morning!
