I found out by accident that there was refurbishment during our upcoming stay so I emailed and was assured we could use the pool at the hotel across the road and the gym would be fine. When we arrived most staff were lovely. We had to park our car on the street as the garage ceilings were so low but they gave us a street pass. When we asked to use the pool we were initially told that hotel was being refurbished as well which turned out to be untrue. We were then told we could use it only that day and also the gym here was totally out of use which was very annoying when we were told it was fine to use beforehand. The room itself was ok, good size, the fridge unfortunately froze everything so our food was mostly ruined. Good location

The room was clean, the breakfast was good. But this didn't matter if you were not able sleep two nights in the row and woke up with a headache. This is what happened to us. The noise outside on the street was unbearable and we were not able to close the window. Because the crank on the windows was broken.

Even though this hotel is very dated it is so beautiful. The woodwork, the fixtures, it all makes you feel like you're staying anong the rich. They are starting renovations so the stairways are messy. Breakfast was delicious with a large variety of food, fruits, and pastries. The room was comfortable with plush pillows.The bathroom was clean and well stocked. The customer service was more than accomodating always pleasant.

- hard to find the parking lot upon arrival - property is incredibly outdated despite their efforts in renovating it - housekeeping only when requested? As much as I pay they should include it daily with their amenities, I can’t get clean towels daily? - musty smell, no matter how much they try to mask it with perfume, the musty smell is overwhelming - yes, they mentioned they’re in the middle of renovations but to start at 8am in the morning? That is still too early as I was getting ready for the day, so who wants to hear all that noise - cost of parking - broken microwave I booked based on the good reviews but I was incredibly disappointed and relieved when my stay was over

The property location is great. However our displeasure is more to do with Expedia than the hotel. We booked in June and no word was said about comprehensive renovations being carried out. We arrived to a building site. The hotel staff was excellent and I cannot fault them. They had alternatives in place in terms of pool use and were great. Expedia should have informed us of the work

Unfortunately the coffee options in the hotel are just not the same as in Australia, so the very helpful young lady at the front desk was able to point me in the right direction to walk to a great little cafe up the blvd.. and no, it was not Starbucks. Service at the hotel was excellent.

The hotel was fine for the first couple of days, but then renovation work started meaning the pool was out of order and there was considerable noise and dirt everywhere. I understand that renovations need to be done, but my issue is that we were not informed of this when booking or at any time before our arrival.

We stayed just 1 night. The property is great. Only thing that needs improvement is instructions for parking. The hotel is on busy Sunset Blvd with no signage/direction to the parking garage which is around the back. Then once you make 2 turns to get to the back of the building you may miss the sign for the garage depending on the direction you’re traveling. We missed it the 1st and it’s very camouflaged due to back of the building facing houses. Minor inconvenience but still worth noting.
