Unique very cute hotel in nice neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and close to metro
The property was disappointing. The room was old and floor slanted. Mattress and bed therefore was slanted as well. Uncomfortable. For heating needs additional had portable heating. Heated towel rack broken, safe broken, curtains did not close all the way. No breakfast which is pictured on all the websites! Seemed like new owners and staff could not offer any suggestions as if they didn’t even live there . Unfortunately would not stay there again. Was a 5 minute walk to marble arch which was the only plus for me.
Arrived very early from our international flight and was feeling tired from travel. Staff was extremely nice and allowed us to check in super early so we could settle in and unpack. Very much appreciated!
5 min walk to tube, very cool once a/c turned on, best Wi-Fi in room, clean rooms, nice people. Gail’s bakery around the corner. Good choice for us.
We stayed here for three nights, accommodations were pleasant and comfortable, bathroom and shower were small but acceptable, and the breakfasts were terrific. It was a little noisy at night (our room faced the street) and there is a great pub/restaurant a few doors down (The Portman). There is a lift to the rooms, but it also involves some stairs as well and hallways were a little tight. Nice restaurants heading down toward Marble Arch, while the restaurants in the other direction were mainly of the middle eastern variety and crowded. The staff was friendly, helpful and dependable. I would return to the Sumner and would recommend it.
