My 19 yr old son and I just finished spending 5 nights here in a one bedroom suite. There were two separate areas-a bedroom with a nice comfortable queen sized bed and living/dining/kitchenette area with a pull out sofa bed that my son used. I didn’t find the pull out bed so comfortable but my 19 year old had no complaints. As many reviewers have noted the rooms are compact and with the sofa bed open, there is not much room to manoeuvre. I was able, however, to still access the kitchen area for our minimal cooking requirements. There is no door on the bedroom but the washroom is situated between the two areas so they are actually quite private. The door to the washroom slides which takes up less space. It is, however, quite heavy and difficult to move. Would be better is they replaced it with a lighter door or installed better sliders. The kitchen has all the basics including an oven/microwave and a cook top. I didn’t find the appliances very intuitive and had to use the provided directions but it all worked out. We used the laundry which is free-a real bonus. Once again, the appliances were a bit challenging to figure out but that has more to do with modern tech and not the hotel’s fault. My clothes dried fine but you have to make sure that you have it on the correct cycle. I had no complaints with the breakfast. It was included in the price and had enough options for me. Housekeeping was amazing. I had read all the reviews stating that towels were replaced, etc and I think the hotel must have as well. We got more towels than we knew what to do with. Fresh ones every day. I really couldn’t have got a better hotel for our needs for a better price. I booked it directly through the hotel during a special and paid £140/night. I notice that the prices vary a lot so it is defiantly worth waiting for a deal. I am not sure how I would feel paying double that.
Well I thought this place was absolutely stunning! I loved the brick wall with all of the beautiful lighting it was just gorgeous!! The room was gorgeous and comfy. Two extra pillows provided because I am a fussy sleeper. No complains at all on the first night.... But on the second night when we arrived from a busy day out exploring London, we went to grab our nightwear from the clothes we piled up out of our suitcase and a mouse ran out from under the clothes!!!! A tiny little brown thing! I was absolutely mortified!!! It ran under the sofa which is a pull out sofa bed and we could hear it squeaking 😪😭 I immediately called reception in shock. He then offered us to pack up and move us to another room on the same floor which was much appreciated but anything I touched with my foot all night in the new room then I was squealing afraid it was another one touching me. The man who moved us was very sympathetic and shocked and sorry. And offered us a refund for the one night for the inconvenience. It was much appreciated. But made me squeamish all night in the other room then. I was just so shocked. And mostly just upset at the thought of mouse pee being on our clothes 😪 as mice are incontinent and therefore have no control where they urinate. I have to say apart from this I thought the hotel was stunning.
I ask for a special attention for my BF birthday. I wasn't expected to see balloons, band and cards. The cake was delicious ! The room was pretty and super comfy. The staff were super nice and helpful. The breakfast was deliiiiiicious.
Great neighbourhood. Great location. Hotel was just what I needed, namely a well located and clean, quiet place to sleep. I did not spend enough time in the hotel to enjoy (or evaluate) it’s facilities.
We stayed here last year as part of a DFS blogging event I was invited to and myself husband and another couple were really impressed. Which I have spoken about on Social media. We decided to book this year for my Birthday. Oh what a difference a year makes! Firstly we booked via Booking.com and was assured the full payment would not be made until the day. The money was then attempted to be taken out shortly after, months before our stay in fact! Because this was a card that I only use for expectes and trips away the funds were not in there and the stay cancelled! Fair enough however then when re-booking the room went from £135 to £175! Same room same day same room as or friends just £40 more! The night before husband called to advise again that it was my Birthday and he wanted everything perfect for me maybe a birthday message on arrival to the room, he also wanted to know as we had now made a full payment before even arriving and it was extra did we still have to make the £50 deposit when arriving. Man on the phone couldn't give us a straight answer to this but anyway on arrival we paid it and our friends too. Husband brought the whole payment thing up with them and we were told by the lady in reception that they would issue us with a voucher as Booking.com should not still be advising payment on arrival. The gentleman next to here then spoke in a different language to here and the voucher offer was taken back! Husband said fine but as they know this was a birthday treat and we have paid a higher rate maybe and upgrade or something small to be left in our room for my birthday and a good will gesture. This was ignored! I was ignored! They spoke in their own language and we were told what room to stay in. 314 Our room was opposite the lift! (314) That was nice all night long hearing that open and close and people coming and going. The room it self was a far lower standard than last year! Dust everywhere and I mean everywhere! It's ok having nice paintings in the room but clean them! The shower tray was filthy! The plastic has worn off and dis-coloured making it dangerous as there is no grip on your feet. Nothing was left in the room for the special occasion not even a welcome message. The view? Well take a look at the photo I have attached! One of the gentleman reception staff overheard me talking to my friend how unhappy I was with the service and instead of offering a solution he just sat there and we left the hotel earlier than expected for our evening as we didn't want to hang around. Shame really because last year we stayed in the bar and really enjoyed ourselves. On checkout we were not asked how our stay was because it was the same two that checked us in and they knew what the answer would be. This could have been prevented, this could have been turned around and this could have been a far more positive experience and review. As we had such an amazing time last year and I spoke about this on Social media I shall be doing the same again this year only this time it will be a far less positive post. Did they offer such a great service and room last year because DFS paid for the privilege & they knew I would be blogging it? Because in that case we were fooled! And this negative experience must be the true service South Points offer. What a shame Guys! So much potential and praise previously. Unfortunately I won't be recommending this hotel to anyone again.
Every things are practically and affordable price. But the breakfast is under expectations. Very suitable for family with children , and there are washing machines and you can use it for free. Location is moderate
Chosen by recommendation. Great location, but could improve an several things. Towels short, broken coat hangers, very warm room with an airco which took forever to do its work. Breakfast facilities are not coping with demand. Service was good, friendly personnel.
I would give this place 4 stars if our bathroom had been really clean. There was mold around the bottom of the shower and the floor was not clean. Since this building is on the newish side, there is no excuse. Everything else was great!
South Point Suites are in a fab location within an easy walk of London Bridge station. The area is full of places to eat and is near the river so is really vibrant. The suites are lovely , roomy for London and well equipped. The staff are friendly and helpful...would highly recommend it
I particularly appreciate the free laundry and the brilliant breakfast. Several buses run nearby. If you book from the official website, you may get better deal, like free breakfast and free WiFi. Highly recommend.
