As a regular user of this hotel, I can confirm that the air conditioning doesn't work in any room I've used. I have been woken at the 2330 because they had double booked the room I was allocated- I am a top level member of their loyalty scheme. Disorganised, overpriced, today they pushed me to be disappointed
We booked this as a cheap hotel for use as a base for a three day stay in London, The hotel is literally just over the road from Colliers Wood tube station (northern line) and is a 20 -25 minute trip to the Leicester Square. There is secure underground parking for about 30 cars. We just about managed to get a space although it was extra busy being a bank holiday. Car parking is supposed to be £20 a night but we were only charged £20 for two nights and even left the car there until 8 hours after checkout (hotel were ok with this). Room was nice and clean and did the job adequately. There is a free mobile phone which is designed to be taken out with you - it's called the handy phone. Great idea but the one we had only lasted an hour from a full charge so check yours if you are taking it out to make sure it holds it's charge. Breakfast was really good - great sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, toast, croissants, cereals, porridge pots, fruit. You can even 'grab and go' if you are in a hurry with bags provided for this. As with all breakfast sittings the earlier you get down there the better with peak times being between 8.30 and 9.30. All in all a great hotel for a central London trip. Pick your nights carefully if you have options on the days as there can be quite a cost difference between nights. A saturday night was more than both a Sunday and a Monday night together. Stayed at holiday inn express' before and always impressed with the formula
We stayed for two nights and liked the hotel. It offers very good breakfast, although the menu was the same both days and it could include cheese. Good coffee machines! Rooms are good, and clean. Beds are small for American standards but comfortable.Nice pillows and blankets. Good and fast wi- fi. Very close to the subway (metro) station on the Northern Line. It takes about a half of an hour to get to Trafalgar square and do not need to change trains.
Decent HIEx located within very easy reach of both busses and tube connections. Rooms show signs of age but are well appointed and clean. Breakfast seems to be offering the 'upgraded' offer which includes muffins (baps) to make bacon butties and a nicer fruit offering. Staff very helpful. The only negative is the cost of the on-site parking which is not clearly noted in the booking process and came as quite a shock at around £20.00 per night. Parking is however in a secure undercroft area accessible only to hotel guests.
The first room I got was on the first floor, it was old and dusty. I was switched to one on the third floor which was fine. Just a decent short stay hotel. Breakfast was included, there was toast and cereal, fruit and coffee, all the regular stuff. It is literally right across Colliers Wood tube station.
Really nice hotel - staff very professional but also friendly - hotel clean and although on a main road I had a really good night sleep. Breakfast varied and tasty. Bedroom was comfortable and spacious.
We stayed here many times years ago when it first opened. Never again. OK it was cheap for London and had complimentary breakfast included. But I booked it in a hurry and didn't read the small print about parking is £20 per night. If it had been clearer, we would have parked nearby. On arrival late afternoon the coffee machine was in use and there was a stack of paper cups for take away and white mugs. We took a coffee each to our room. We unpacked, sorted out paperwork and then went for a shower only to find thick mould along one wall inside the shower. The wifi that we needed took ages to come through but was slow. After eating out at locally we returned and the coffee machine was on but there were no cups or mugs. When I asked for some, the bar man said, 'that's not free, you've to pay for that, its only for breakfast. He was abrupt, he wouldn't believe that we, and many others had used the machine 3 hours earlier. Breakfast the next morning was adequate and hot and self service, but there was plenty to choose from. Many of the guests seemed to be making up packed lunches for the days sightseeing. The reception staff were very polite and patient.
Stayed here recently for the weekend to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary and needed a location close to London. Great location - 20 minutes to West End by Tube. Staff were wonderfully helpful and breakfast and service all round was exemplary. Room was so comfy and spotless. Thank you so much to the management for our lovely wine and chocolates - such a lovely surprise.
Great hotell near by underground. Little bit far away to city. Near by hypermarket, restaurants and bubs. Good breakfast and rooms. Rooms are little bit small to 2 adults and two kids. Helpfull staff.
Stayed here for a night before moving on to central London. It has the usual Holiday Inn Express amenities with complimentary breakfast. We are a family of 6 so used two doubles with sofa bed. The car park is under the hotel and cost £20 for 24 hours.
