After a complete shambles with checking in, the hotel has over-booked and filled the room with coach tour groups, we were given a twin single room. One of the beds was broken, it creeked and was extremely uncomfortable. The television in the first room was poorly wired into the aerial. And hanging off the wall bracket. Second day we were moved to another room, the receptionist wanted is to pack and bring our luggage to the reception prior to hanging over the key, for the room to doors away from the original!! The next room was a double, but after a day out in London we returned to a red hot room with broken air con. When we phoned reception, we were informed that the air con wasn't faulty and they would give us a fan. We decided to go to reception, where the bar was heaving and the receptionist popped her head around the reception area and told us you'll have to wait! As she was busy in the bar, after she served five people, I had to interrupt her and say I wanted to see the duty manager. Surprisingly, she was! Another receptionist who was also the waitress, nearly made it to us but was too busy flirting with the customers to bother seeing if she could help. The duty manager told us that a) we couldn't have the window open (due to health and safety) b) we could have a fan to push red hot air around the room or c) return to the original issue of single beds.... At this point we decided to checkout three nights early. Whilst I understand this is a franchise of Holiday Inn, it is a very poor example of a hotel and is much more akin to a hostel. My advice is never stay here.
The staff were nice, changed room due to traffic noise, breakfast was good but towels were brown instead of white, the juice machine button was sticky, the blue trays were dirty, the plates, bowls and spoons were dirty, I hope they take note and give cleanliness more importance
Stayed here for the 2nd time, location and service first class, staff are spot on, breakfast was good and a nice little pub next door, had a newly refurbished room which was very comfortable, highly recommended
The receptionist was brilliant and was very helpful on checking in. I got a newly refurbished room which was one of 18 such rooms. clearly looking to do the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was very busy due to coach parties but there was plenty of hot food. well done. a great location close to the tube station.
Great rooms, spacious with AC, good sized bed. Lack of toiletries, no little seperate pots just an all in one 'shampoo, conditioner and soap' so if you want to travel light you may not find all you want.... fine if the price was more reasonable. Breakfast, expected it to be busy but there was a lack of choice and variety for the price paid. Again the choice would have been fine if they charged less. Friendly, helpful staff.
Stayed for 5 nights. Room had a very comfortable double bed and a sofa bed which was noisy and not as comfortable. Shower excellent. Breakfast everything you would need including cooked food - all self-service. Location excellent -colliures wood tube station across the road. At least 5 nearby restaurants. Co-op and Mace.Reception staff very helpful and efficient. Highly recommend this hotel if you don't mind travelling 20 mins by tube to central London.
Hotel on a busy road which we couldn't hear from our room. Underground is right across the road. Good amenities in the area, two shops, chemist, pubs, coffee shops, park all within a minutes walk. Hotel staff were very helpful at all times. Air conditioning in the room was amazing given the 30+ temperature outside. Room was small when the sofa bed was out but not an issue for us. Room was very clean and beds were comfy, even the sofa bed. Bathroom was large with good shower. Breakfast was good. Would definitely stay again.
Stayed at this hotel during a short visit to London. It could be better placed having a tube station on one side (Colliers Wood-Northern Line) and a large tranquil park on the other (Wandle Park). The rooms are well planned out, spacious enough and have all the right facilities. The beds are comfortable and I got a good nights sleep. Breakfast is great, with a wide selection of hot and cold items that are regularly replenished. Staff are a credit to the company, being friendly and approachable at all times. Only slight negatives were: Aircon in room was welcomed, yet quite noisy; No shampoo in dispenser in bathroom; Orange juice was overly sweet during breakfast; and it was a little difficult to find a seat for breakfast at 8:15 in the morning. These are only little gripes, however, and I would definitely stay here again when in London!
Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting for Wimbledon final day. What a great location and lovely hotel. As a member I was given a late check out. Staff were lovely and room was clean and well looked after. Would definately stay there again.
I stayed here for one night in early July. I got to the hotel late at night. The front entrance was locked so the night duty manager let me in by buzzer i guess. What was surprising and I can't understand why, is that there are a set of steps that take you up the reception and after a long day, the last thing I wanted was to carry that heavy suitcase up. The duty manager was very pleasant, check in was simple and the room was very nice. The room was updated and state of the art where I could plug in my iphone directly to the wall socket a plus of someone like me coming from New York. The room was very tastefully appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very well done. The complimentary breakfast was very nice and had a nice spread there was room for plenty to sit. All in all I enjoyed my stay and would stay again here.
