This may be an OK hotel for the winter months, but I would avoid in the summer or fall because the rooms do not have individual air conditioning units and the central AC does not have the power to cool the rooms. At nights when I opened the window I realized that outside was much cooler than in my room with "maximum ac"
This hotel was the location of a scientific meeting that I attended. In my opinion, everything regarding the services of the hotel, for the meeting, breakfast, bar and room, was excellent. The staff were always helpful. The hotel is located near a metro station and several bus lines. The only possible negative point would be dinner service at night, in my opinion a bit expensive, but there are a lot of options within a short walking distance (less than 15 minutes).
I used 3 hotels in Lisbon for my Portugal vacation and by a mile the Sana Lisbon was my favorite. Beautiful room, thoughtful details, great location near metro and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was the best of the 3 too. Wish all my hotel choices were as great as this.
We stayed at the Sana Lisboa Hotel for a long weekend break. On arrival we were given a great welcome by Rita-she provided loads of hints and tips for our time in Lisbon- she also noticed it was one of our party's birthday. Later that night we returned to find a fantastic surprise of a birthday cake waiting in our room for us- 5 star service!!!! Later in our trip we arrived back late to the hotel after watching Benfica FC and in need of some food! Miguel in reception could not have been more helpful in recommending a restaurant nearby and ensuring that we got there! All the staff we encountered were very helpful and made sure we thoroughly enjoyed our stay- we can't wait to go back.
Reception managed to accommodate my wish, to get a room facing the castle, at the end of a corridor. The room numbering scheme is: room F01 at the end of the corridor, room F15 close to the central elevator (where F is the floor number). Highest floor is 12. Odd numbers face the castle, even numbers face the main Anvenue Fonte de Melo. So if you want a room at the end of the corridor on 12th floor, facing the castle, ask for room 1201. The bed linen is very soft and silky. They give you some nice and thick sleepers if you ask at the reception. Room cleaning is very professional. This hotel is a PressReader hotspot, which gives you access to download thousands of magazines and newspapers. There is also a print version of the FT in the breakfast room. Breakfast is OK. Several diner options in the area, my favorite is Barlotti. Good Gym at -3 floor.
It is a nice, pleasant hotel with gorgeus facilities including a spa. Good quality bed, complete breakfast with a great variety of breads and buns, biscuits and muffins, other than cooked stuff. The staff was helpful and polite. The location is perfect with the subway in Marqués de Pombal Square and lots of buses passing by. The bathroom is spacious and functional. My only negative opinion is about the bathtub because it is much higher than average and that is not very safe. After the shower I had to jump out!
We booked 6 rooms for our group in this hotel. The experience for our guests was a njightmare. No communication, taking guests payment from their credit card with no permission, no possibility to collaborate with us. It was a day that we will never forget and for sure we will not book again in this property
We stayed at the Sana Lisboa for 4 days for a mini break. Our room was comfortable and very quiet, the breakfast was very good and varied and the waiters very attentive. Unfortunately, though, on our 3rd day, I had my purse stolen from inside my zipped handbag very near to the hotel. I returned to the hotel and advised the front of desk staff. Nobody asked how I was or if I had other funds. One lady just gave me a map showing the police station. I feel this total lack of empathy is not what should be expected from a 4 star hotel and it certainly lowered our impression of the hotel.
We stayed for a few days - it's a very comfortable hotel, good breakfast buffet and quite central. It's an easy walk into the centre of town and to the river, it's also close to a metro station and on the airport bus 1 line.
If you look at the location of Sana on a map you'll think it's not very central or in easy reach of much - but in fact it's in a very well-served (if a little business-oriented) area of town and provides a pretty straight route through to downtown Lisboa. In terms of the room, it was spacious and had a very comfortable bed with good air conditioning - on a par with a 3 or 4 star hotel in the US in terms of decor and facilities. The minibar had reasonable prices, which was good because whenever we passed the bar there was nobody attending. Even on our last night when we sat at the bar for a good five minutes, nobody came to serve (hence the 4 stars). The breakfast offering, which was included in the room price I paid, was very good and catered for many different tastes. Staff were attentive and well presented throughout - both at breakfast and within the hotel.
