We have stayed in many hotels all around the world. This is absolutely one of our favorites. Can’t wait for the next opportunity to stay at Bairro Alto Hotel.

Stellar staff! Everyone was friendly and the team went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic, including preparing us a early morning breakfast before a day trip to Porto. I cannot recommend staying here enough if you are traveling to Lisbon.

the room was so small for &389.00 a night- are you kiddingme almost $400.00 for a room that was so small we couldn't put two suitcases on the floor. The hairdryer didn't work in the bathroom, they explanined the electrical was so old we had to plug it in by the bed. The hotel was under contruction so jack hammering went on all day until 7 pm! not drink on the rrof top bar- looking at a crane was the view. Terrible not worth it it should be a two star. It was in an excellent location. And the staff were excellent for service.

We stayed at the Barrio Alto Hotel from 5--13 April, 2017. It is centrally located, and tram 28 runs right by the front door. Everything at the hotel was wonderful; the staff was absolutely superb, as was the hotel restaurant.

From the second I arrived at the door the service was impeccable. I arrived very early after a red-eye, and a room was ready. Efficient friendly staff...great central location. Lovely rooftop bar for drinks - great view. My first visit to Lisbon, and the staff directed me perfectly- great recommendations and dinner reservations.

the hotel is great and the staff is even better. the location is the best and the roof top bar is great. the breakfast will blow you away, its that good.

We LOVED Lisbon and the Bairro Alto Hotel Lisbon was a wonderful experience in a beautiful city. The staff was attentive, the room comfortable, and the location great. One of the dormer rooms have great views of the city. If you want uxury, but no authentic Portuguese experience, then go to one of the box luxury chains. If you want a boutique experience, then the Bairro Alto is for you.

Very few hotels I have stayed in live up to their 5 star rating, but this one does. Staff is outstanding, hotel is immaculate, service is amazing. Room we had was a little cramped, but really comfortable. Centrally located to many restaurants and shops. This is a must stay place in Lisbon. Also don't miss the view from the Terrace Bar at the top of the hotel.

All round excellent small hotel. Very good friendly multilingual staff. If I was to be picky, drink prices on the rooftop terrace are steep, perhaps to keep down the numbers, and the breakfast is crowded when the hotel is full. Would definitely stay there again.

We traveled with our three young children, which is no mean feat in Lisbon, and the Bairro Alto worked out perfectly. Connecting rooms, top-notch staff, and located in the middle of everything. So easy to walk to the water, the castle, the main shopping area. Plus there are tiny boutiques and restaurants all over the neighborhood so we really felt we were getting a terrific experience.

I can't say enough about my stay in Lisbon. The most attentive hotel staff I've ever encountered anywhere. I can't wait to go back. Bravo!

The staff really make this hotel that little bit special . From the moment you arrive to the the moment you sadly leave , that cannot do more to help you .

The Hotel and the staff were simply brilliant: I planned to propose to my girlfriend on this visit and to say the Hotel staff were helpful would be the biggest understatement! From the e-mails in advance to the hospitlaity and service whilst there, it was truly faultless. Thank you for making this memorable time in our lives that much more special.

The entire hotel was lovely. Staff were very polite and helpful, room was clean and very nice. Restaurant was wonderful!

Dear Gioia, Greetings from sunny Lisbon. Thank you very much for expressing and sharing your thoughts with other travellers and most of all for letting us know about your dissatisfaction. Obviously, we are very sorry you did not found us to deliver the perfect match between value and money. Please accept our most sincere apologies. We run a lovely boutique hotel, and as you said, as far as location is concerned, we do have one of the most convenient in town. Regarding our service, we thank you for your kind and positive remarks. We have six bedroom categories in total. Deluxe bedroom being one of them. We also have available junior suites (Prestige Bedroom) and Suites. Much more space available in these ones. Nevertheless, we feel we represent one of the finest options for accommodation and services in Portugal. One would have also to comply with the general atmosphere with an historical boutique hotel. A building dated back from the XVIII century, converted into a hotel. We truly hope we can welcome you back again in Lisbon anytime soon.
