Hockey tournament weekend So there were at least 15 families from our team that all booked rooms at this hotel. First off the water slide was broken and out of order (made for a bunch of unhappy kids) we booked here based on the fact there was a pool with a slide. Secondly for the rooms that they knew were going to have 4 people in I thought they would have at least provided bedding for the pull out bed. I had to ask for bedding at 2 am and was brought 3 throw sized blue blankets. We were scolded (almost to the point of harassment) about the ‘noise code’ and while I realize there is a need to be quiet in the room we were told the kids were not allowed to walk the halls at all after 11. Not even alone. Now that’s saying something when we didn’t get back from the last hockey game until 10:45. They needed to eat and blow off a little steam after 2 long days of hockey. I asked 3 times to rent the Stafford room so we wouldn’t upset anyone else in the hotel knowing that we were going to feed the kids pizza and let them hang out and have some fun. No one contacted me back at all about the room and when I spoke to the front desk they said they’d have to ask the manager and get back to me which they never did. Sad when the kids and parents just wanted to have a fun weekend away and we all left feeling like we stayed at the place that FUN GOES TO DIE! If you’re looking to enjoy the company you’re with and there’s more than 2 rooms involved DONT STAY HERE! you’ll be threatened with being kicked out, extra charges to your rooms for noise and no fun will be had! Holiday Inn express’ slogan should be Come stay with us, NO FUN WILL BE HAD! A very disappointed parent and someone that will NEVER stay at another of your hotels again
I just completed my 3rd stay in the hotel - this time for a week. I've found the hotel consistently clean & comfortable. The location can't be beat when I'm there for business. This stay was extended at the last minute. Kylie on the front desk handled the extension quickly and professionally - not always an easy feat since payment is arranged by Head Office, and there needed to be several emails sent back & forth. The hotel had booked several teams for the weekend, and my first room was in the middle of the room block. Kylie offered to move me to a quieter room, which I accepted. It turned out to be a complimentary up-grade to a suite. I was most impressed! The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, as is the breakfast area. Breakfast itself does the job, although it's nothing special. I make regular business trips to Lethbridge, and this has become our go to hotel there. I'm sure I'll be back soon!
Beauty Rest mattress was excellent. Air conditioning unit in the bedroom was incredibly loud and woke me several times from sleep. Fitness room was very tiny with no floor space, Room 211 had the worst wi-fi signal I've ever used in any hotel. Bed sheets are scratchy. Free breakfast - just take the yogurt cups, maybe some cereal with milk and a banana. Do not eat the pastries or powdered eggs from a bag.
I have stayed here on and off several times including 2 recent stays to Lethbridge. Positive thing about this hotel is the location, best in town I think as its close to the highway and several places to eat within walking distance. Unfortunately it is becoming a very run down place. Furnishings are old and worn, an end table in one of the suites I was in was so wobbly I would no even put a drink on it. Cupboard doors that almost come off in you hand as they are hanging loose from their hinges, freezer part of the fridge had its door missing, shower door would not close. I like the large suites, but why have the smallest TV's I have ever seen in a room so big, in the living room of the suite it is tucked up in a corner and if you are sitting down on the couch you pretty much need binoculars to see anything, and for me anyway put a strain on my eyes when trying to watch. Like everything else though the TV's are old and should have been replaced years ago. Housekeeping was minimal, if they spent more than 5 minutes in my room I would be amazed as all they did was put the cover back on the bed (as opposed to actually making it) and taking out the garbage. Ice bucket left where it sat no new bag liner for it, glasses still sitting in the sink etc. Unless they do something here I will be staying elsewhere in the future as there are newer cleaner hotels in town and most at a lower rate than here. Management should take note of some other Holiday Inns that are cleaning up and doing renos to their properties rather than letting them go like this place.
Stayed for one night. Mid level rate for the area. Generally clean and modern hotel and rooms. Ok bed and pillows. Room had fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Wifi worked well. Didn’t use the pool or fitness so no comments on that. Basic breakfast with sort of sad sausage, scrambled eggs, cereals, yogurt and assorted breads etc. Not the best or worst breakfast we’ve had on the road. Overall the room appeared clean until the toilet seat lid got lowered to reveal a broken screw cover (see picture) - this filth is disturbing because it means that either no one ever cleans that part of the toilet seat (ewwww) , which should be cleaned after each stay, or, they clean that area but leave that one part disgustingly gross and dirty. If the toilet was being properly cleaned there’s no way this could be missed. It makes me wonder exactly how well the rest of the room is being cleaned (ie; the glass drinking cups in the bathroom for one thing) If you’re not going to clean that one little part of the toilet then at least replace the toilet seat, or cover that screw cap with something. (For managements purposes - that is room 326 - I suggest that you have that taken care of)
Check-in was smooth and friendly. Our sparsely furnished room was spacious and had newer carpet. The small kitchen area was appreciated and consisted of a noisy bar fridge, keurig, sink, dishes and microwave. The bathroom was also clean and roomy with Bath & Body Works toiletries. We found the walls thin so the large group of teens in the hotel with us (school trip?) could be heard throughout the halls at all hours. The alarm clock in the room beside ours went off at midnight and we were awakened by it. Staff attended to the alarm clock promptly though. The location was easy to find and parking was free.
Paid 144$... it was in rough shape & I wouldn't stay again... I was in room 419. The bathroom needed some serious cleaning, especially around the temperature dial and the closet door was broken. The room was FREEZING even with the heat up as high as it could go. "Breakfast" was awful... some sort of cheesy folded egg, flat, greasy sausage and a selection of dry cereals and breads cut so think they didn't toast. Not worth the money; glad I only had one night.
BW Express in Lethbridge is a great choice while travelling. On a recent trip through this beautiful little city, we stayed here for one night. Clean, comfortable, easy to find and quiet. Included breakfast the next morning was adequate, though nothing too special. I would certainly consider this hotel if we're ever in the area in the future.
I stay here regularly while on business in Lethbridge. It is conveniently located about 4 blocks from a mall and 3 blocks from a city park. Restaurants are within walking distance in all directions. Quick and easy check-in and check-out. Clean as well. Jr exec suites have a separate room with a desk. Would prefer these rooms to have more light. All in all it is good value especially since a decent buffet breakfast is included.
Room and hotel were nice, only problem we experienced were the parking arrangements, especially in relation to disabled parking. On arrival, we found that there were two handicapped parking stalls next to the hotel. Both were taken , but one by a large oil industry truck and long trailer ?. The rest of the lot was full so I had to drop my wife off in her wheelchair at the entrance and seek parking on the street on the other side of the hotel. My only beef in this regard is that the oil industry truck was taking up a handicapped spot. I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff who were not prepared to address the issue. Their reply was that "Those are trailer spots too". I found this quite odd as the signs clearly indicate they are handicapped spots, there is no mention of "trailer parking" whatsoever ?
