First of all kudos to the staff which is exceptionally helpful, friendly, and outgoing. Unfortunately, everything else about this hotel is frightfully mediocre. If you remember that kid from high school who almost magically managed to score 51% on every test you will understand this Quality Inn. It does just enough to barely pass but not an iota more. This is a very tired location to say the least. It's a clone of the South Side's Comfort Inn but marginally less well kept. The pool area is borderline decrepit and has an infestation of some strange black cricket type bugs about 2 cm long. There were four of them on the pool area tile and another one at the bottom of the pool. The pool water is kept at too low a temperature and after a few minutes your teeth will be chattering. The spa is warm enough but the jets don't work, no matter how many times you reset the timer. The rooms are in dire need of a refurbishment. The TV is an old, tiny flatscreen, the fixtures such as the table lamps are literally falling apart, the desk chair base has collapsed on the lateral sides so it's like sitting on a bicycle seat, and it's shockingly dirty. There were about a dozen lumps of what seemed to be burnt tar-like plasticky stuff all over the carpet and the desktop. I don't know what this stuff was (and I have a guess but I don't want to say) but there is no excuse for not having it cleaned up by housekeeping. It's also unacceptable to have to have your key card recoded SIX times in one stay! Skip the breakfast. The pastries are hard and stale, the potatoes are the worst budget quality frozen type, what laughingly passes for orange juice is diluted Tang, and the only way to get to the dairy fridge is to smack a diner in the back of the head. Especially given that the average room rate is within about $20 of the three FAR superior hotels on the other side of the street, there really is no excuse to stay here.
We booked this hotel on Hotwire, which means we got the worst room in the place. There was some weird odor being covered up by some Febreze or other perfumed product. This just made the odor worse. Thankfully, the front desk staff did allow us to switch rooms, or we'd have had to leave. The front lobby was reeking of bleach when we arrived, which resulted in me having an asthma attack (bleach should be done only after-hours in public places.) The sound between other floors and other rooms kept us awake, as did the loud talking in the hall in the morning by the housekeeping staff at 8 am! The hot breakfast was just awful. Overcooked scrambled eggs, and undercooked pork sausages. We couldn't eat them, so ended up going out for breakfast instead. If you offer your property on Hotwire or other sites, surely you should still treat your guests with decent rooms and food in order for them to come back?
Front desk staff were excellent, friendly, courteous, helpful - easy check in and check out, Breakfast was as good as any waffle maker, hot eggs, sausage, potato and the usual toast, cereals and muffins. Also yogurt and juices and coffee. Room was quiet - comfortable
Hotel is nothing exciting... but the staff at the front desk was amazing... super helpful. I was in town on business and she offered me her card and assured me a corporate rate if I came back. Lovely woman. It’s great on a budget... nothing wrong per se, but definitely can find “nicer”.
I like Quality Inns for their good service and deliverables. Reception was great and helpful. Maybe because I booked through Expedia, I got the room right across from the elevator making for a lot of noise - not the best location. Also, wonder if the franchise owner is living on the 3rd floor - dog and kids seemed to run free and were a little noisy. Breakfast - must have been there at the wrong time - eggs were dry, sausage burnt and hash browns undercooked. Disappointing.
We were in Lethbridge for a medical appointment and chose the Quality Inn and Suites. Reception upon our arrival was fantastic and check in was smooth. We stayed in one of the rooms with 2 queen beds (very affordable). The room was clean but one of the beds could have had a little more attention when housekeeping made it up. I did mention this to front desk staff and they thanked us for bringing it to their attention. The complimentary breakfast was substantial and the breakfast room clean. Unfortunately we didn't get a good night's rest as one of the guests on our floor was constantly in and out of their room throughout the night. The doors are large and make a loud bang when closing. If not for that we may have had a good sleep.
I purposely picked this hotel in the range of cost effective properties but was largely dissapointed. Most, if not all hotels in Canada are 'smoke free', so imagine my surprise walking into the room and being welcomed by a strong tobacco odour. It's obvious someone had smoked in the room. The pillows were rank. Thankfully they had provided a fragrant candle to offset the smell. Next, the toilet needed maintenance as when flushed would continue filling the bowl. I had to manually lift the plunger to make it stop. The desk chair felt more like a tire quickly deflating. I would raise it to a comfortable height for me only to have it randomly slide down. I expect places to have maintenance issues - that's life. I'm very disappointed though, that when I mentioned some of the above to the counter staff - no attempt was made to offer any sort of incentive to return. They did apologize and thanked me for letting me know of some of the issues. The free hot breakfast was sub-standard. Really basic. Generally, this place is average at best and I'll be looking elsewhere when in Lethbridge again.
When we booked our Corvette caravan in this hotel, the staff were so excited to have us book with them, and even more excited when we showed up. They gave us a really good rate, great breakfast and easy parking. Comfy rooms. Really great. We'd stayed at the place across the street before but found this place, although more casual, was way more friendly.
We were headed to Glacier National Park in Montana USA from Edmonton Alberta and chose to overnight in Lethbridge. Our trust in Quality Inns once again pleased us. The breakfast was hot, fresh, and the server at our beck and call; very friendly and helpful, as was all the staff there. Very clean, outside and in; and quiet.
We stayed here for 2 nights August 23 and 24, 2017. The staff is very friendly, courteous and made us feel at home. The free hot breakfast was excellent good variety. Hot coffee, juice and milk to drink, they also had toast, frozen waffles and a variety of cereals. The pool and hot tub was fun they also have a fast waterslide with their pool.
