First the positives. This hotel has a pretty convenient location, there are a few restaurants within walking distance, the desk staff are friendly, and the rooms are a good size. They encourage water conservation with a "green" approach to linen changes. And the bathroom amenites have a nice scent. Unfortunately, there is a lot of room for improvement. The property is undergoing renovations, so hopefully this will all be resolved soon. The breakfast was a fairly typical hotel breakfast with waffles, toast, packaged cinnamon rolls and muffins that had been cut, a few cereals, yogurt cups, cold boiled eggs, sausage patties and scrambled eggs, juice, and coffee. (The eggs and sausage could definitely be improved upon, and the coffee temperature could be brought up a few degrees.) If you have food allergies, take note - I was somewhat disappointed to see peanut butter on the counter but no allergen alerts posted. The breakfast area is only slightly affected by the renovations. The room itself was clean enough, but the sheets were getting threadbare and one of the mattresses had a noticeable sag. The room's blackout curtains were closed when we checked in, and the heat was turned off - so when you arrive, expect to need to find the desk lamp to have light, and check your thermostat! Most of the light fixtures in the room had CFL bulbs, so the ceiling lights were very dim. The hallways were in sore need of vacuuming - presumably this is due to the renovations, but we were there for two weekend nights when construction wasn't happening and during that time there was no one cleaning the hallway carpets. Best to wear shoes when going to and from the pool. The pool needs attention. It appears to have been some time since the pool was thoroughly cleaned - there is a blackish ring around the edge of the pool at the surface of the water. The pool is not heated (or at least not by much); the hot tub, on the other hand, brought comments from every guest entering it about how very hot it was. There is no on-deck shower, just single showers in each of the two washrooms. (Therefore, we didn't see anyone follow the "shower before entering" sign on the wall.) There are a few plastic chairs in the pool area. The fitness room is adjacent to the pool and has a few machines. One was out of order. Also, If you are travelling in the winter, you should be aware that there are only THREE parking spaces with plugs.
Spent 4 nights at this location, January 15 - 19, 2018 and was not impressed. I set thermostat at temperature I wanted, every night when I came back from work, it would be turned off. I would leave a room light on when i left as the rooms are really dark and initial light inside door doe snot provide enough light to entire room when you return at night, this was turned off. Staff put paper notification under door that water would be off one afternoon, Tuesday January 16. I did not bother to pick it up as I was exhausted that night when returning to hotel. That piece of paper stayed on floor by door for duration of my stay. When I checked into room there was a piece of toilet paper on the floor between toilet and bathtub, no big deal. However, it stayed there the duration of my stay. I bought a few croissants to eat, there were flakes of pastry on the carpet in my room and were not vacuumed up all week. The selection of TV channels is ridiculous. The breakfast, tried it one morning and I avoided it rest of week. Front desk staff were indifferent, I would return to hotel in the evening and say hello to staff member at front desk, they would just sit there and stare at me with no reply...bizarre.
This hotel clearly needs some renovations. The bedroom and linens appeared clean but due to the condition of the rest of the property, I wasn’t convinced. The eggs and sausages at breakfast were very sketchy. See the attached photo of the pool........it was disgusting and doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned in months. I would never return.
We stayed two nights. Room was fine, liked the bed and the pillows. Friendly staff. The eating area is being expanded so there was some construction happening during weekdays. However, the breakfast was horrible. Both mornings I tried the scrambled eggs. They were sort of warm, with no flavour and were like rubber. A staff member was microwaving them in the back room. Not sure how the sausage patties were cooked. They were Grey in colour and barely chewable. Took one bite and threw the rest out. The first morning my hubby tried the coffee....it was cold. He told the staff member so she brought out a new pot. It too was cold. He didn't bother trying it the second day. My yogurt on day two was frozen but still tasty. The hard boiled eggs were also like rubber. I did tell the manager and he apologized but we went to Tim Hortons for coffee. We stay in a lot of Choice hotels on our travels. This by far had the worst food. Wanted to go in the hot tub but it didn't look very clean
Overall I found this hotel reasonable and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There was a reasonable continental breakfast (make-your-own-waffles, bagels, bread to make toast, various pastries, cold hard boiled eggs, warmed scrambled eggs, warm sausage patties, coffee, tea, juices, fruits and yogurts). I've had worse and I've had better. We had a king-sized bed which was comfortable and the hotel has reasonable sound insulation - although it was quiet over Christmas. I suggest, however, that if you're traveling in the dead of winter, this place may not be the one for you as, in southern Alberta, the winters can get quite cold - during our stay -32 degrees Celsius. The difficulty with this hotel is that it has very few electrical plugs for your vehicle. If you arrive back at the hotel a bit later (9 pm for us) all the plugs are taken and you run the risk of your vehicle not starting in the morning. I also found the price-point a bit high (120/night) during the slow season.
Stayed 4 nights in November. Comfortable place. Had everything we needed. Convenient location, friendly staff, good beds, pet friendly, good breakfast. Have pool but we didn’t use. Rooms are a bit dated but clean. What more can you ask for, would recommend when in Lethbridge.
The hotel itself was great. Very comfortable and convenient to my office. The only reason they are not getting 4 stars in because while in Alberta there was a freak snow storm and I was unable to get to the hotel, I had to stay else where because of driving conditions. They were not going to honor my reservation. But level heads prevailed, got my room.
This is a bit of an older Comfort Inn. I had stayed at another newer Comfort Inn in another city a few days before this stay so it was hard not to compare. However, I had a comfortable bed, the room was clean, the morning front desk person was very friendly and I liked the breakfast a lot. You can make your own waffles, which was fun.
This hotel was convenient overnight stop. It was clean and very comfortable. It has a pool which kids would love. Breakfast included in the reasonable rate. Located close to lots of chain restaurants.
We we're in Lethbridge Canada for only 1 day stopped here for the night. The staff we're extremely friendly and knowledgeable on where to eat/touristy things. The room was clean and tidy and had plenty of towels. We were tired form the drive, so we hit the the pool and Jacuzzi. Both were nice and the Jacuzzi was hotter than most that we've been to and that is NOT a complaint. Had breakfast the next day and everything was hot and delicious. We would stay here again if ever in the Lethbridge area.
