This hotel was on the campus of Michigan State. The room was beautiful and spacious! My only issue was the outside lock. The door would never open so we had to go in through the lobby! I would most definitely stay there ahain
We booked a studio suite here on a recent visit to MSU. The room had a sofa, a small kitchen, and a nicely designed large closet. There was a laundy room and an outdoor bbq area as amenities. The hotel is located on the far east side of campus. My husband and I had a great run from the hotel to the Sparty statue along the river and back via Sanford woods natural area. By showing our room key we had an option of purchasing a day pass to the nearby Michigan Athletic Club for the day. We didn't have time but I so would have taken advantage of the steam room if we did! The breakfast was o-kay but nicer coffee and tea are available all day. The staff was very friendly and the room rate was less expensive than the hotel next door with no kitchen. Loved this place!
We were there with a group of about 20. There we other large groups there as well. The staff was terrify! The outdoor space was great with a gas grill, outdoor gas fireplace and plenty of comfortable outdoor seating. Short distance from Michigan State. Good restaurants within walking distance.
Our two-bedroom suite provided us with visual privacy and a clean, well appointed kitchen. Every bedroom had its own TV and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. On top of more than meeting our needs, the entire facility was immaculate, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I especially enjoyed any interaction that I was lucky enough to have with Nadine; she is a pleasant presence. In addition, there was Tyler, who was super helpful in every way. And the complimentary breakfast exceeded my expectations. All in all, it was an unexpected pleasure.
I booked this reservation sight unseen, based on availability and location. I will always look for this franchise when traveling. Our suite was well appointed and spacious. Staff was very accommodating. I was pleasantly surprised in finding this hotel. I will be back!
I visited East Lansing to check the MSU since I had an invitation from Business school. I to Lansing at 2PM then to the hotel by 2:30ish. I looked for the receptionist for almost 10 mins. She told me there is no available rooms, so I want to the restroom to change and since it's not a full service hotel I took all my things with me to the meeting. However, the room was nice and quite. The location was amazing.
This place is a gem. Great front staff, very accommodating. Great clean rooms and the property inside and out is perfect. Everything is so clean. The grounds are perfectly maintained. I will be back for sure.
The kitchen was very well planned, The room configuration was comfortable with two bedrooms off the sitting room. However, there was only one bathroom to share. What I didn't like was the bedding--choosing between just a sheet to cover with (which wasn't warm enough) and a duvet which was much too warm for comfort. The decor was o.k.--a little dated but still attractive. The toilet paper was the cheapest, flimsiest available. But, more important, the continental breakfast was ample and tasty. Lots of walnuts and dried cranberries for the oatmeal--if you enjoy eating healthy! Two pleasant features: A tiny putt-putt "golf course" for kids just outside the door and a free exercise room plus access to the fitness club in the mall across the street.
We stayed for 6 months and felt like home, staff is very friendly and prompt. Location is very optimal for MSU visitors. Nadine the staff manager is very helpful. Housekeeping is very good. Complimentary breakfast is very good.
Upon arriving for check-in, I was told the wrong room number and building for my room, so I spent 10 minutes wandering around trying to find it. The rooms are very large, I had a two bedroom suite for just myself. The bathroom was tiny however and cramped. Nice living area and kitchen. The breakfast is lousy and the hours are not great. Save your time and find something else nearby. The hotel is a bit isolated in terms of restaurants, bars and shopping .. you need to drive a bit for them - but it is close to campus. We had a boil water advisory, and instead of taping a memo to the door, they simply threw a paper under my door.. a co-worker of mine did not even see it but thankfully I was able to warn him about it. Just poor customer service all around from the employees here. I would consider again if they turned things around.
