Located right on the lake, with gorgeous views. Our room was considered a “studio,” but was roomy (with a Murphy wall bed) and kitchenette with a full stove and microwave. There is a balcony that overlooks the hotel’s swimming pool and the lake—great for morning coffee or a late afternoon drink. Scrupulously clean and attractively furnished. A great value in South Lake Tahoe!

Beautiful location on the lake. The beach is steps from the slider. Property is older and can do with updating. Kitchen has everything you will need, small living room is furnished with older furniture. Bathroom is so tiny only one person can get ready at a time. Staff very pleasant and accommodating.

This is a wonderful small Timeshare right on the water. Some of the units have stairs that walk right out onto the beach in front of the units, you can't get any closer. It's all about location. Try going to their website and take a tour. We've been going there since 2000. We try not to miss a year. You also have a pool, jacuzzi, rec room with a pool table and games, sauna and the staff is amazing.

My husband and I just wanted a weekend getaway and we came across the Beachcomber for a very fair price. The unit is updated and very comfortable. The water level is high so the waves were crashing up against the patio to our unit, and I couldn’t help but imagine how much fun this place is during the summer months. You can literally walk out the back door and into the water. The view is gorgeous. The staff is very friendly. I have so many good things to say about this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time looking out on Lake Tahoe from the living room and the lakefront patio! The staff, particularly Eileen in the office, was so helpful and friendly. The facility had convenient parking and all kinds of extras like movie DVD's to borrow, hot tubs, sauna, game room, BBQ grilling areas. Our one bedroom unit was very clean and comfortable. The location next to a public park was a bonus as well. The bike paths were easily accessible from here. Nice!

You can't stay any closer to the lake than this. We love this place and return whenever we can. It is not flashy, it is relaxing and friendly. It is hard to stray far from the deck. Just sitting looking out on the lake really gets to be hypnotic. I listed as beachfront, but that really depends on the lake level. Sometimes there is a little beach and other times, like this year, the level is high so there is no beach.

We stayed here for two nights when the weather was shifting from 30 degrees in the morning to 90 degrees in the afternoon. It was close to perfection. The pictures don't show you exactly how large the rooms are and this was a pleasant surprise. We had more than enough space for the three of us and the view was captivating. There was no beach to speak of attached to the property because the water levels were so high, but a quick walk about two minutes away and we were at a small park that had a small but very pretty beach (El Doradao?). This was a good location for various restaurants, shopping, groceries, parks, and water activities without being in the center of traffic and chaos. Check-in was very efficient, we used the pool (though cool) and the hot tub outside, and the game-room was nice for a bit of a distraction. We rarely return to places we have stayed because there are so many other places to see in this wide world, but should we find our way back to this lovely area of the country, we would stay here again without hesitation.

We stayed in the "pent house" which amenities were exactly what we wanted. Two rooms, one with two beds (for adult sized kids), kitchen, living area, great patio and of course the view of the lake was wonderful. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of towels, etc. The staff we met were very pleasant and helpful. I knocked off a star because the Inn's furnishings are dated, also there were some minor maintenance issues (i.e. the bathroom sink was very slow and we ended up using the kitchen sink), However, these were minor inconveniences and overall the stay was just right for us. *Amenities: Could not remember if the Inn has an indoor pool, but it does have an indoor hot-tub and sauna.

The Beachcomber Inn is a great place to stay. We were there four days enjoyed the snow, the South Lake Tahoe area, and all it's beauty! We will definitely go back. Accommodations were fantastic, beds were comfortable, kitchen as well stocked - cooked in one evening. Wonderful views of the Lake!

I had a mixed experience at the Beachcomber. The good: The view was as advertised, which was great. The room, carpeting, furnishings, Unit R were reasonably updated (not as outdated as some other reviews had indicated.) If we'd stayed longer, the efficiency kitchen would have been nice. The bad: The "one queen bed" was a murphy bed which broke when my bf sat on the end of it. (We weren't even engaged in any sort of fun adult activities, which would have at least made a better story!) I don't mind murphy beds, but I prefer to know in advance when the room I'm booking doesn't have a real bed. We ended up pulling the mattress off of the frame and sleeping on it on the floor. (where I booked) listed the check-in time as 4-9pm. We arrived at 5:30 and the office was closed. It turns out that the office is only open from 9-5 Sun-Thurs, which functionally makes check-in 4-5pm. One is supposed to arrange in advance an "after hours check in" if arriving after 5pm. I wish this information had been listed on the website or emailed to me. Check out time is 10am. If I had known this before I booked, I probably would have booked elsewhere. Unless you're a morning person, staying here in December means you won't get to enjoy the view at all, since you can't check-in until sunset and have to leave right away in the morning. Bummer. At check out, the (friendly) woman in the office said she didn't know how to print a receipt because they were such a small business and most people don't ask for one. Five days later, still no receipt. The shower was tiny. It was maybe 3'x3'? All in all, it would have been a better experience if I had been given all of the necessary info in advance. I could have booked somewhere much nicer for the same price. In the winter or for a one-night stay, I'm not sure that the view is worth it.
