Grand Geneva Resort & Spa

To start , I paid for a "lake view king bedroom." I got a king bedroom with a view out to a brick wall! The pool was closed for the day, which was a huge downer since the main reason I booked a stay here was for their outdoor pool. We then decided to have dinner at the Chop House. We have a reservation and were still sat an hour late. The host Sam said she "lost" our reservation after we checked in. That she couldn't find us??? The staff didn't even apologize for the issue or inconvenience. Won't book through Orbitz again nor stay at The Grand Geneva.

Great location, tucked away from downtown Geneva. Friendly staff, expensive food and bedding was not the most comfortable but overall a decent place to stay.

This hotel is exceptional in its unique prairie style and we saw beautiful views, flora and fauna. Its history as Playboy Club is unique. The dissatisfaction came with our two rooms having parking lot views, in a very unbusy time. Staff was unwilling to change this. Another staff member admitted it. Also, beware of the $22.00 hidden fee that they slip under your door at night. I was left with the feeling that this hotel is more enamored with money than the customer service & satisfaction of their guests. Geneva Grand is just another cold, uncaring business. Money is their idol. Beware!

Overall clean but certainly needs ceiling tile maintenance in the spa. Carpet needs a serious cleaning or replacement in hallways but overall our room was very nice with a beautiful view --we were in building three I highly recommend it for location and view.

The staff was great... great ambiance and resturants were good

This really is a beautiful piece of property with several amenities. We took the family and wanted to spend most of the time on the facility enjoying all it had to offer. this proved a little more difficult than anticipated. We arrived at the check in time of 4 PM on Saturday and settled in to our room with the kids and went to get something to eat at around 6PM. when we went to the child friendly restaurant and asked for a table they said there were no reservations available until 830 despite half the restaurant being empty?!? when I told her that we were hotel guests with small children they shrugged and referred me to another restaurant which we tried as well. similar picture with even more open tables, they referred me back to the other restaurant we just tried. I tried to call the restaurant reservations line who said that there was nothing available until 845 except the steak house and the bar, and then hung up on me. the attitude of all the staff was that I was the idiot for not making reservations prior to arriving at a hotel i'd never been to and was foolish for assuming that a hotel reservation would come with reasonable food options. Overall, it was a very disappointing first impression. it turned out to be pretty good however, because we got re-bundled up in freezing temperature and went into tow and enjoyed a terrific meal, which turned out to be the highlight of the trip. The rest of the stay was very nice once we made reservations for every meal

We had a wonderful time staying at the Grand Geneva Resort! We tried checking in early but the room wasn't ready. Due to never receiving a text message confirming that the room was ready, the staff generously upgraded us to a junior suite. The room was gorgeous, homey, and comfortable. The bed was firm but still very comfortable and the pillows were amazing! We have been to many hotels and this one is by far the most quiet where you cant hear your neighbors through the walls and/or cant hear stomping from the neighbors upstairs. The Geneva Club at the hotel was a wonderful experience as well; football was playing on the TVs, fireplaces inside and outside were lit, and a DJ was playing a nice mix of music. Overall, this hotel was perfect and we will return. The location was great too, only about 7 mins from the downtown area. Definately recommend!

This hotel might be a great place to stay for a longer period of time and if you're interested in all the expensive amenities. If you're just staying for the hotel overnight, you'll pay extra for things you won't even have time to use. Overall, based on the condition of the room, I felt we paid more than it was worth to stay in this hotel.

Beautiful grounds but oh! surely this Resort needs a good 'face lift'. Its drab, dated, furniture old, dirty, carpets stained. Needs a complete renovation. Besides the fact we were charged for INTERNET which we never used, but that's besides the fact. What a RIP OFF this day & age having to pay for INTERNET. Unheard of!!! Again, the Grounds are absolutely beautiful which would be wonderful if one could see them from within. For the price, certainly not worth it. Feel bad for the 'Convention' ppl that have to pay for internet.

This hotel is definitely overrated and was not a good fit for my husband and I. If you're interested in golf, then this is the place for you. The grounds are beautiful!!! Check-in took forever! Not because it was busy but because the front staff was being trained. I tried asking questions but I was told all the information would be covered at the end (but wasn't). When we arrived to our room at 4:30 p.m. there was a tray with food sitting beside our door. We left for dinner and upon our return (11:00 p.m.) that same tray was sitting in the same place with flies around it. I had to call the front desk to remove it. Room: Decent size, clean bedding, comfortable bed. Cool feature: a TV in a tiny bathroom. We paid full price for a room with a lake view and all we saw were trees. There were bugs every where. I spent a lot of time swatting mosquitoes and trying to have the ladybugs leave the room. Needless to say, we didn't even use the tiny balcony and I woke up with several bites. The next morning we woke up to the knocking of the cleaning staff. They knocked on our door 3x before checkout. Btw, check-out is listed as 12:00p.m. but Grand Geneva insisted it was 11:00 a.m. Resort fees are a joke! The amenities listed are covered in other top rated resorts. You're basically being charged for WI-FI and 2 bottles of water. We spent most of our time in downtown Lake Geneva and only returned to sleep, therefore this was not the best value for our dollar.

Lake Geneva is a nice location to have a short weekend away from Chicago. This resort has great rooms overlooking the golf course and a great golf course. Some really nice restaurants in the resort as well. They have a tonne of activities that guests can participate in as well. Not to mention a great spa. All in all, great experience.

The location of the hotel was perfect and the scenery was breathtaking. The view from the patio was gorgeous and overlooked the golf course.

I was supposed to have a room with the best view. Instead what I got was a a room with a HORRIBLE VIEW. The view from my balcony was the TOP of TREES!!!! Can you believe that??? This was my anniversary weekend stay and this almost spoiled it for us!

This was a perfect getaway for a girls weekend! The rooms were clean and the staff was incredibly accommodating. Not far from downtown shopping and dining. If you don't want to leave the resort you don't have to! Plenty of restaurants and dining options as well as a scenic views and a beautiful pool area. I would highly recommend the Grand Geneva Resort for couples or a girls weekend getaway!

The staff and amenities were great. I mentioned a bachelorette weekend at check in, and when we returned from the pool chocolates and a nice card to the bride were waiting for us. The only complaint is the way finding signs around the property are a little confusing.

My husband and I just returned from an amazing getaway. This hotel was the best place we've stayed at in the midwest when it came to the combined service, on-site spa, amazing quality of restaurants, and general atmosphere. They exceeded our expectations. Our single complaint was the quality of their cocktail service - definitely lacking. Everything else was just great!! We will definitely be back.

We were able to check in a little earlier than 4pm which was nice. Checked out the indoor pool and hot tub. Fitness center was great and played basketball and volleyball with the kids. I had a massage and it was wonderful! The amenities in the locker room were great, hot tub, steam room and sauna :)

We were impressed with how accommodating this resort was for pets. Their policy only allows small dogs under a certain weight, but we had no problem with our ~20lb dog. We were able to leave the dog in our room for short durations (a few hours) by placing sign on the door to alert staff if they need to enter. The room was very nice, especially the bathrooms with TV built into the mirrors. The restaurants were great, we dined in both. The breakfast served in the buffet is recommended. We will definitely return.

Clean nice rooms, could use more outlets, had a hard time finding one for the coffee pot. Beautiful golf course. Great weekend!

We found that my wife was allergic to pet dander in the first room we were given. The staff moved us to a hypo-allegenic wing and upgraded our room. Moral...always ask for a pet free room if you have allergies! The Chop House was excellent for dinner. We look forward to returning when the weather is more pleasant.

I'm happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and appreciate the unique history our resort embraces. I'm sorry to hear you did not enjoy the view from your room but I hope you were able to walk along the lake side path and enjoy the charming Wisconsin countryside. Our resort fee is a normal part of every visitor's bill and we try to be transparent so there aren't surprises during your stay. I hope you'll return for another visit in the future.

Thank you for your compliments on the beautiful grounds. We appreciate your feedback about the internet and the carpets, we will look into both of those items. The property is historic with it being the old Playboy Club, so we definitely try to reserve that uniqueness too. We do welcome you back for another stay! Regards,
