As we were driving to Virginia we got caught up in traffic jam and a car accident in Houston which threw off our plans to drive all night. As we drove through Louisiana in the wee hours we decided to take a quick break. We called in to hotel and were told they had limited rooms. We arrived around 3AM and checked in to hotel and left by 10AM.The room they gave us was average and a little pricey but served its purpose to rest and take a power 5 hour sleep session. Customer Service was exceptional.

Probably the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Checked in, given our key, beds aren’t made and have sticky marks all over the bedspreads. Given another room, it’s got trash everywhere - bedside tables, next to the tv, on the floor. While we wait for our third people keep appearing asking reception for toilet paper and clean towels. Our third room was ok until the toilet started leaking. We were told it couldn’t be fixed until after we left so we just had to live with it leaking, with insects swimming through the pooling water. We stayed two nights and our room didn’t get touched the whole time we were there by housekeeping. It wasn’t cheap either. The ladies on reception are really lovely and did their best to help us. I feel sorry for them having to deal with a completely incompetent housekeeping team. Shame because motel 6 has been quite good to us this trip - but I’d rather sleep in my car than stay there again.

Left home due to potential flooding back home. Room has damage, signs of novice dry wall repair, covered with amateur paint work. Had to bring in my automobile deodorizer just to stay in the room. No wifi and no TV remote the first night, did not reduce $84 (per night) bill. Mid-morning finally got remote to television, it only allows us to adjust the volume. Only one person working desk and answering requests from guests. Not a good plan, especially when the hotel is inundated with storm refugees. A couple different types of roaches observed in a friend's room. Tom Bodett would not stay here.

I was behind schedule due to traffic coming from Houston, so I hadn't planned on a hotel as I was planning to get to New Orleans. Anyway, it was late at night and $85 on a Sunday night. The room was sparse. No blankets, dirty bedspreads, thin sheets. The motel was under or finished with remodeling. Old style bathtub and a shower hard to control. The people in the room next to me smoked. The smoked outside my room. I was too tired to care. Then a 3:00 am there was commotion and they were smoking, laughing and having a beer outside my window. It took me a couple of hours to get back to sleep, thus the low sleep quality score. Normally I would have passed at the rude clerk and $85 for a one-star dump, but It was late at night and I was not familiar with the area. The clerk was gleeful at charging the ridiculous price. If it did not take 3 hours to clear Houston, I would have been in New Orleans. No Motel 6 is worth $85.

Checked in, hotel was hot, filthy, mildew in shower and around sink. No shower drain stopper. No emergency fire sprinklers in room. Had two undercover cop cars parked in front of my room. Witnessed a prostitute exiting a room. Who ever decided that this hole In the wall could ever be designated as a "Hotel" should have their license revoked. It was noisy and unsafe. I checked out after 1 am. The advertising picture is so inaccurate.

We booked this reservation on line (lesson learned!) because it was listed as "Pet" friendly. Upon arriving the young (limited knowledge) man went about trying to verify our reservation. When we indicated we had a small dog....he went "blank". During the registration on line we indicated we had a pet? Once he verified with someone he called he went about processing our reservation. Once done.... he tells us it's on the second floor.....we asked for the lst floor? He said, "so sorry" we are booked solid. The breakfast was OK. The room was clean and OK. When we checked out the following morning....the hotel was less than 30% occupied and on the side we had it was less than 15% occupied....but according to the young man.....OH we are booked solid. SUGGESTION: Look will feel better.

My family and I called the Lake Charles ABVI located on Martin Luther King to book a room directly. We needed a room for three guests and were told we could book a king room with a sleeper. After checking in, our room did not have the sleeper we were told they had. We contacted the front desk and the person said they do not have such rooms and wanted to charge extra for a roll away even though we were given incorrect information. Then the person on the phone hung up because the police showed up due to a fight. We were charged $82 for incorrect information and did not have any help from anyone due to fighting on the property AND could not accommodate everyone. We were lied to and ripped off.

If I could rate this a 0 for service, I would. We found a coupon for this hotel for $49.99 a night, so we thought, hey, that's not bad, so we called and the girl on the other end rudely informed us that there were no vacancies, then promptly hung up on us. We ended up booking through Travelocity, even though we were told there were ZERO VACANCIES. We get here, and ask if they'd honor the coupon, but they said since we booked online, they wouldn't do it, and even if we didn't they wouldn't honor it because they don't accept them on weekends. So, during this whole process...she then CHECKS OTHER PEOPLE INTO EMPTY ROOMS when she told us there weren't any! She lied to us, simple. I do not appreciate that. So, we feel that the hotel screwed us out of 40 bucks. The rooms are a little dated, clean enough, however, the toilet has black stains in it, which is disgusting. So, for a room that should have only cost us maybe 65 dollars, cost us nearly 90. I wouldn't waste my money here again. And if I knew that girls name, you'd better be damn sure I would mention it in here, because she needs a serious attitude adjustment. I walked into the lobby to ask for two more pillows, which was when she asked if we had a pet, I said yes, she told me the fee was 10 a night, so after getting my extra pillows, I went to go back to get my credit card to go pay the fee. I waited for nearly 10 minutes, until I decided to open the front door a few times which would make a bell go off, finally, another customer walks in, and then she finally decides to come to the front. I know she knew I was waiting on her, because there are cameras enough. If you are going to work in a field of work where you have to deal with people face to face, you should probably kiss their butts and do as they ask and treat them like people. Also, I've read that there have been one or two guests who were NOT forced to pay a pet fee...and we were. I'd like to know what made them so special.

We stayed at this motel for 5 months. The room, although clean, spacious and relatively bug free, (saw several roaches) was not well lit, had cracks and scratches in the walls, and was noisy. We complained about the lighting several times, and also our neighbor's squeaky door without results. Finally we just gave up, and lived with it. We checked out on Friday, March 6, after paying for the room for March 1-7, and giving notice that we were leaving. On March 9, they charged us $308.00 for another week, without our permission or signature. I guess they just thought they could get another week out of us. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!!! If you stay here, PAY CASH! Rochelle and some of the other girls are great, but management is unfriendly and unhelpful.

Nice rooms, good service, great people. This was worth stopping for. The rooms were nice and clean, the lobby and grounds were clean and well maintained. The breakfast was pretty good and the people were nice, cheerful, and helpful. If you're in Lake Charles, this is a nice place to stop.
