The hotel is well located and has all the amenities you may need during your Sarawak explorations. The best thing about it is the very helpful and polite personnel that happily and efficiently planed the tours I wanted.
I checked into the hotel a day after the Rainforest Festival and quite frankly had my expectations at very low levels. This hotel exceeded that and then some. The front desk was very friendly and helpful which is always great for any kind of hotel. The room was clean and surprisingly compact. Comfortable beds and a thoughtful torchlight in case of emergencies. This hotel's location is its biggest asset; food, laundry, waterfront and malls within a 5 minute walk. The only downside was the water heater at low levels in the middle of the night. Will come again.
Hotel is good for 2-3 nights if you're not to fussed about luxury. The rooms are comfortable enough and we have no complaints really, it just isn't very exciting. The rooms don't have a window with a view and are not ultra modern but if you're just coming to Kuching and are spending a few days on your feet exploring the city, then what does that matter anyway? It is clean, the staff are friendly and it is in a great location. The rooms have a kettle which is handy and there are free shampoos and shower gel in the bathroom which is also helpful (especially when you're travelling long term!) The room we were in has good WIFI too
The Abell hotel is great value. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and I reccomend this as a first stop in Kuching. Room was very quiet and comfortable and cosy. Breakfast was simple and served by friendly helpful staff.
Kuching is nice city. Abell hotel as well. Location was nice. Nearby from cat monument, plaza sarawak and riverside area. Room condition was good. Clean bathroom. Clean bed room. Fast wifi. Breakfast menu are limited. Public transportation in Kuching is not good. Hard to find taxi in some area, uber or grab as well. Airport to abell by taxi with voucher RM 26. If you lucky can find grab or uber from airport to city centre only RM 12.
a recommended hotel, very clean and simple hotel for light traveller. food is good. a non smoking policy hotel.WIFI is strong. housekeeping is excellent. however, ironing service only allow 30 minutes for each usage.
We stayed in Kuching for 2 nights and I chose this hotel because of its central location and its reasonably priced rooms. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. There are cafes, ATMs and shopping mall all close to the hotel and its only 10 minutes walk to the waterfront (where we spent most of our time in Kuching. A lot of the other rooms said the hotel was noisy. Our room looked over the main road and we didn't hear any of the traffic noise. We didn't try the restaurant or have the breakfast. My only criticism of the hotel was tour we booked to the Orangutan sanctuary - through the hotel. I can't remember the name of the company but I think our 'guide' was a friend of the hotel staff rather than a guide. His English wasn't great, his car wasn't clean and he was not licensed to enter the sanctuary. At least we got to see Orangutans but I wish we had just taken the bus!
Simple, clean and meants just for sleep, however can be little noisy sometimes. If you want a late check out, you have to reset your key at the reception besides calling them to extend, or else you power will cut off automatically at 1230noon. staffs are friendly.
If you are looking for a cheap and clean hotel in Kuching, Abell Hotel is a recommended facility. It is 5 minutes away from Kuching Waterfront and is walking distance to malls, food outlets and some other tourist attractions. The hotel is also 15-minutes drive to the Borneo Convention Center Kuching. One thing you should not miss when staying at the hotel is trying a nearby restaurant--Lyn's Thandori Restaurant. It is just 7-10 minutes walk. The rooms are clean and they replenish all amenities (soap, towels, tissue, bottled water) everyday. WiFi is also great!
My sister and I stayed here for a few nights in October. The staff were really helpful and friendly, the rooms were comfortable (good air con) and the breakfast was nice. The location was the real bonus. Close to the waterfront and lots of lovely restaurants.
