I recently stayed in Hilton Kuching for two nights. I stayed in the standard room as all the deluxe room were fully booked. The standard room has a vintage feel to it. The staffs were friendly as usual. Breakfast buffet is excellent as always. The only problem was that the water in the shower was not hot at all. Otherwise a pleasant stay...

Location is great right on riverfront. We had room 1304 facing river, large room and comfortable, getting a bit dated but still good condition, 5 star level. Breakfast busy but very good, huge room, lots of choice. Depending on your rate wifi may be extra, as a Hilton Points member booking directly it was included for me. Price point a bit high but still a good place.

The Hilton of Kuching is nicely and centrally situated in front of the river. The suites are very spacious, but the decoration is a little bit vintage. We had little problems with the safe and the plumbing, but everything was solved very rapidly by Mrs. Kay. The staff of this hotel is great and makes all the difference! We warmly recommend this hotel for the friendliness and the service of its staff!

It has been sometime since I stayed at Hilton and it brings back some fond memories. It a very old hotel, must have been 30 years or longer. The elevators are still the same but overall the hotel is well maintained. There has been some refurbishment done to the room but not sure how long ago. It was a busy period with full occupancy and the breakfast place was packed, can't even get a place to eat. Luckily on checking out I complained and the Front Manager apologised and refunded the breakfast fees that was included in my room charges. Well done, Hilton!

I was allocated a river view room on penthouse floor and the Vista over the town was quite amazing. Check in was a breeze and within hours I had someone contact me to check if I was comfortable. The room was spacious and well equipped and serviced by an outstanding housekeeping team. The bed was really comfortable. Yes the hotel is slightly dated but offers many great advantages in terms of lovely swimming pool, good breakfasts and of course very competitive room rates. Club lounge staff were super friendly and I really felt at home with them. A great experience! Thanks!

Waited for 40 minutes for check in on 18th July . Only 1 worker at check in counter of a 5 star hotel!! Upon check in, was told there was no nonsmoking room available even though i reserved a non smoking room. Was told that i need to wait several hours to get a non smoking room. So just check in. After 2 hours in the room, i could not take the stench. I called reception to change room, but now they said no room!! I had to continue to stay in the smelly room. Worse stil, i could not even take a bath as the water was trickling. The mini fridge was not even working to store drinks. The towels smelt like burnt cowdung. I was told that breakfast starts at 6pm. I went down for breakfast at 6.15am. Ordered an omelette but was rudely told " belum lagi". At 6.30am, tried to order an omelette again, was told belum lagi la". Why say breakfast is from 6am, when half the food is not even prepared???

I checked-in from 9th July to 17th July 2017. When I arrived at the hotel around 3:00pm, my room was not ready yet. My initial plan for to check-in, shower and go to an open Eid Fitri open house. Since the room is not ready yet, the front office staff get me to register myself and collect the key later. The staff who was handling my check-in is polite and professional. Too bad I didn't get her name. The room I stay (Room 818) is decent. Even though the hotel is ageing and in need of new refurbishment, I would say it is well kept. All fixtures in my room is in working condition. Basic amenities is available in the bathroom (Hair shampoo, hair conditioner, body lotion, shower gel and shower cap). There is no tooth brush, cotton buds or face cotton provided. Perhaps you can request via Hilton "magic" service but I didn't request any since I brought my own. The minibar is empty but you can request the hotel to replenish the stock if you want to. They are more than happy to fill-up the minibar. Hilton Kuching also provide a descent hair dryer (portable and not the usual lousy on wall hair dryer) and iron with ironing board in each room. I found that the corridor of level 8 have a weird carpet smell. It might help if the hotel use an air freshener. The total stay I would consider as comfortable except on 15th and 16th when there is not hot water in my shower. I complained and they sent maintenance personnel. I had to get the maintenance to check on my hot water twice and it is still doesn't work after the first time. I was told the reason being the hotel is doing their routine maintenance earlier and it's affect a few room. Imagine coming back from Rainforest World Music Festival at around 1:00am and have to shower with cold water. The condition should be better after the routine maintenance but it seems like it's not the case here. They advised me to get the water run first before I take my shower. That is such a waste of water to leave your tap running for around 5 minutes till it gets warm and hot. On my last day, I went to the reception counter and asked for a late check-out until 2:00pm. My flight is at 6:45pm. After I stay for 9 days, didn't get to check-in on time and two days of cold shower, I thought they would grant me the late check-out until 2:00pm but sadly no. The lady said the latest I can check-out is at 12:30pm. Not even 1:00pm! Only 30 minutes extra is allowed. A bit disappointed actually. It really affect my good feeling about Hilton Kuching. The front office staff didn't even check on their system when I mentioned my room number. She could at least check and might consider to allowed me to have the late check-out but no, she straight away say no after I asked. I would not feel that bad if she even just pretend to check in the system and said they are running full house and really need to get the room check-out. The hotel location is superb. The Kuching Waterfront is just across the road. Plenty of affordable and delicious food from the cafe at the waterfront from evening till late night. 2 nearby 7-eleven and walking distance to KFC, Pizza Hut, cafe and malls. The famous Kuching Bazaar also just a stroll away. The famous top spot (Fresh seafood food court) is about 5 minutes walking from the hotel. Hilton Kuching itself have plenty of food outlet. Coffee house, cafe and even Chinese Restaurant for those who just want to stay in.

This hotel should be rated 1 star. The weird smell upon exiting the elevator and it gets stronger once you enter the room, made our stay really horrible. We wanted to fly back to Langkawi. The red flag was raised since second one of our arrival, our luggage was left in the street while I rushed to the lobby to ask for the person in charge of carrying the luggage. The furniture has never been updated since the year this hotel was built. The furniture is falling apart and the carpet was filthy and disgusting. The bathroom is outdated and falling apart too, you can see mildew instead of grout. Disled "0" to get a second pair of slippers to use because the carpet was gross but no answer.

Strong brand but the hotel needs to really upgrade as it looks really tired. Time to spruce it up to making it more vibrant. There are newer hotels nearby but had to stay in Hilton due to company policy. Still a good hotel nevertheless and staff are courteous.

The Hilton in Kuching is neither good or bad but the overhaul look makes it a very 1980s style experience: dark lobby, dark rooms with dark colours. I find that there is a problem with the windows which are all marked with greasy fingers spots and are obviously not regularly cleaned...
