Tune Hotel - Waterfront Kuching2.5 out of 5.0

The place is in a very good location, close to the waterfront with numerous attractions. The hotel is perfectly clean and basic, perfect for a budget hotel. The only minor issue is the WiFi is overly cumbersome, requiring a voucher per device.
I am very satisfied with the hotel with the given price, But, one bad thing is that the air conditioner is placed just beside the bed. I hope the management can look this matter seriously because the cool air from the air cond will cause someone like me feel sick and uncomfortable when I sleep on the bed.
I stayed for 3 nights. 1. Clean and big enough room for 3 person (2 parents & kid). 2. Ac, tv, wifi now included my booked fee. I thought it would be pay again while we check in, in fact not anymore. 3. Good breakfast with valuable price. Nasi lemak, fried rice, omellete. I hope next time menu more various. Come back again? Yes if the room rates still extra save for backpacker and short escape 😉
Jz infront of the waterfront with many souvenir shops and food outlets within 10 minutes walk . The breakfast is good. The room is small but its ok considering the price of below rm100. Taxi to airport is around RM30 and takes 30 minutes on sunday morning. Recommended to stay here.
Stayed for 3 nights, good WIFI, but u gotta prepare for additional charges on A/C, towels, TV. Good location, near the mall & there's plenty of local food right behind the hotel that opens past 12am. Good sleep & nice hot water. A little cramped, max 2 luggages would fit. The aircon was pretty cold and fast to cool the room on a hot day. Breakfast was bad but u can order an omelette and sausages at least. Overall I'd stay here again if i was on a budget.
Reached there around 10am or so. Front staff was very friendly. Tips : Do not be shy to ask the staff on things around. Seems they are much more happy to help you. Room is pretty decent and comfortable with the price although no windows. Maybe one could check or request to arrange room with window. Not sure though as I was pretty happy there. Location is the best and very strategic. While amenities provided by them is workable for me. Like the fried mee kolok with chicken black pepper for breakfast (must try!). Very practical. reasonable and no wastage. This Tune hotel suits me in all away and definitely will repeat to stay here if I were to be in Kuching again.
I request for invoice, now already past 14 days as promised no reply at all, just from the auto respond. Email for the enquiry, no reply at all. For their room small but you get what you pay for it. Need to pay for towel, wifi, tv and aircond. The payment for those not included with room payment.
The hotel is strategically located just opposite Hilton Kuching. The hotel is directly in the middle of town. Short distance to the riverside walk and to other restaurants. The rooms, like other Tune hotels are small and cheap. Stayed there on Christmas eve and the hotel is fully booked. There is no parking facilities.
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights over the easter weekend. We checked in at 22:30, the staff were very kind and polite. They explained the hotels policy's, explained about the room wifi, gave us our towels and TV remote, informed us of breakfast times and told us where breakfast would be. The rooms are very small but if you're only going to be staying a few nights it is definitely manageable. We didn't have a window in our room, not that we were bothered, but the receptionist told us we would be moved to a room with a window the next day. The bathroom is also small but toilet, sink and the large shower were all clean and worked fine. We did find that the fan was very loud during the night so we just used the air conditioning overnight. Breakfast is a very bad point for this hotel. The food is pre-cooked and comes in plastic containers. There is no fresh fruit, no bread, not even water or juice. The only drinks are tea and coffee. The food is either fried noodles or rice with egg and chicken. Not what we were expecting. The last two days of our stay we skipped breakfast altogether. This is the only part of the hotel that I feel could do with some serious improvement. That afternoon we were moved to a different room, we were hoping for a nice view of the waterfront or of the city but were disappointed! The view is horrible and looks onto dirty buildings. Although, if you are only staying here for a couple is nights it's bearable. Just don't be fooled into thinking you will have a nice view! On our 3rd day we realised the bedsheets had not been changed as they had the same marks on from the day before! In a hotel I'd expect clean/unstained sheets everyday. Also the toilet roll wasn't re-stocked nor was a spare one left in the bathroom. Good thing we carried pocket tissues around !! The staff here are always polite but not over friendly, perfect if you're tired and just want to get back to your room. We used to ask at reception for bottled water on a daily basis and were always given it. The location of this hotel is fantastic!! Right on the waterfront opposite the Hilton hotel, there are a few big shopping malls within a 5min walk and restaurants also within a 5min walk. We used Uber to get to all the tourist places and found this was the most comfortable way to travel. If this hotel wasn't in such a good location I wouldn't stay here again. But all the issues apart from breakfast are rather minor and the location of this hotel definitely makes up for it! It's a cheap hotel and provides a basic hotel room. If I'd paid more I would have expected more, but I didn't! The hotel is a great place to stay for a few nights and to explore Kuching! You just might want to have breakfast elsewhere. :)
First couple days we stayed there nothing worked for us. Room is tiny box, towels were dirty, ac was liking all night but we realize it only in the morning when floor was covered with water so were all charges and devices that were on the floor. There is no space in the room so we kept everything on the floor. Tap wasn't working as well, we had running water only in the shower. No wifi as staff explained due high demand it wasn't working at all which was true. As soon as all local travelers left on Sunday it started working or hotel fixed it. We were out to bako for 2 days when we were back we had a different room everything was fine, clean towels, working wifi, tap was fixed as well. Staff very nice, polite and attentive.
