Stayed between 15th and 17th Nov. Loved location, good room and breakfast but no evening cocktail with our executive rooms as advertise but wine & beer was available. Bag was tamper with at airport and hotel management and security were great with support and transport to local police. All the staff at this hotel are excellent and helpful so we ended up having a good stay. Highly recommended. Will always be my first choice in Kuching.
Behind tired facade there are so many pleasant things one can discover about this hotel. The hotel location is perfect. Most of the attractions in Kuching are within walking distance from the hotel, and the waterfront is right outside the hotel. My room was really comfortable and spacious. I also liked the food that was available for breakfast - both the variety and the quality. The hotel staff was more than helpful and they really made my stay at the hotel a very pleasant experience.
Stayed here from 11-13 Nov 2017. I loved every bit of the hotel. Clean, spacious rooms and great service. The reception staff (Bryan I think) was really nice and helpful despite me arriving around 2:00 am. The cosy in-house bar is another love story. I just couldn't get enough of sitting there (a bit pricey though). The bathroom has everything you need. good quality toiletries and when I discovered that they'd forgotten to give me a toothbrush on my first night, one call was enough for them to quickly provide it.The location is also great. I would definitely stay there every time I go to Kuching. What needs attention though is this: - Housekeeping does not do a thorough job. They're good but not very good, for example, just putting the toilet seat cover down does not mean they really cleaned it! - The shower pressure is not strong. Might wanna look at that. - This is the one that drove me insane: getting connected to their wifi is almost mission impossible. I did everything the instructions said but couldn't even get connected. Let alone tha page took ages to load.
Stayed here in September 2017. Great little place for a peaceful stay. Bathroom was new and nicely decorated, beds were comfy but we noticed the hotel was pretty quiet which was good. Overall I loved how fast the check in was. Once you walk out of the hotel, the jetty is so near that you may take a one ringgit ride to the other side to buy some local cakes. I would recommend this hotel for sure.
I did called and was promised by the reservation personel to get the river view room twice before the actual date check-in. Plus we did come early , and we were super highly dissapointed by the hotel because we were actually given a room with a old and lame parking lot! They did justified told us it was before the rooms facing the river were fully, but we didn’t see much people in our levels. This is the worst hotel in term of promise and we were really dissappointed by their service. This is the most untruthful hotel i’ve ever been.
3 nights stay. From external of the building you might thought that the internal will be equally old however I believe most of their rooms just renovated. Air con is cold enough for the hot weather in Sarawak! Bathroom amenities upon request and chambermaid did a good job. Walking distance to Chinatown (around 15 minutes) and our room is Waterfront view. Our room rate doesn't include breakfast so I'm not too sure how's their breakfast. Surrounding there's plenty of local eatery where you can taste local food with reasonable price. Kuching statue right in front of the hotel where consider best spot for a tourist shot! The only downside is their carpark. We rented a car from Avis, although the parking is free however its limited parking lot. If you reached hotel late you might need to go a few rounds before you able to find a lot. Another was waiting room upon arrival. We knew that check in time is 2pm so we drag sometime upon arrive and register ourselves around 2:30pm but still being told that all 3 rooms not ready. We able to get one room to place our luggage after we inform the receptionist that we don't mind on different floor. Asked for late check out as we getting another 2 rooms late but only given at 1pm. Not big issues actually as staffs handled quite well. Called us when another 2 rooms were ready which I'm quite satisfied with it. Requested for room with 2 beds.( 2 queen size bed) just nice for 3 of us in one room but if your body size is quite big you might feel cramped for 2 persons on queen size bed. Overall was a pleasant stay and I recommend it to Travellers who go for mid range price and good location.
Overall its a good and nice stay since everything is within a walking distance. Breakfast serve is ok. However, Need to improve on the bath tub cleanliness. The check in n check-out process is also quite smooth. Just in front of the famous Kuching statue/landmark and a boat ride away from the famous kek lapis in Kuching
The hotel exterior does look a bit rundown but the interior is good. It is situated near a few attractions and beside the waterfront. The breakfast selection is decent and you can get quite a few local food selections. For dinner, if you love seafood then Top Spot food court is within walking distance. The room, which we get an upgrade is not too bad and facing waterfront. The bed is quite comfy with few pillows. The staff are friendly and helpful.
The facade of the hotel can do with a lick of paint to say the least but inside is a nice modern hotel. A great downstairs bar leading on to the balcony overlooking the pool. Breakfast buffet restaurant with a large choice although catering less for europeans. Front Desk staff efficient and very helpful. Rooms are very basic and there was a housekeeping issue that we had but was soon sorted out. Best part is the location set on the Sarawak River where you can pick up a boat ride. Shops opposite the hotel. Didnt try the transport system but plenty of taxis outside the hotel. Shuttle buses to the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and Cultural Village at a charge.
