I know this is late review, but I did my wedding in 2015. I dealt with Amy from the banquet side. She is very efficient and friendly. I owe Amy and her team big time. I recommend Grand Margherita for wedding venue. The room that they gave us was fantastic. Thank you Amy and Grand Margherita management :)

Stayed here for 2 nights.  Checked in early at 9.30am but the room I booked was not available yet and there were no other King-size bed room without bathtub available.  So I was given a free upgraded to Room 546 on the  Excutive Club Room (without breakfast).  Been refurbished, the room is very modern, clean and spacious.  The room has everything needed from kettle, iron, safe, 4 bottles of drinking water and toiletries were provided.  Wifi is strong and aircon is very cold.  There are small little touch by the hotel that I appreciated such as a tag on the pillows to indicate that it's a firm pillow.   The hotel is located in a very convenient location, I walked everywhere to seek out local popular food. And I chose to end my trip with the popular buffet dinner with 20% off room guest.  Staff are very friendly and helpful.   The only feedback I have is that the shower water pressure is not strong and the hot water is not hot despite turning it on to the max.   All in all, I am still very happy with the room and will choose to stay here again when I  return to Kuching.

Good location. Room is spacious, decent & well ventilated. Rooms and lobby look nice after the makeover but the outside facade needs a new coat of paint. Breakfast was okay and staff are friendly. In-room TV channels are quite limited without a main movie channel (HBO/FOX movies).

It was a pleasant stay at Grand Margherita Hotel. It is located in the centre of Kuching. Therefore, it is easy to travel to a number of well-known locations via walking such as River Cruise Tour, Orchid Farm, and Upside Down House. The cleanliness of the hotel and the room are superb. The environment is relaxing due to the fact that behind the hotel has a wonderful riverfront. The staff is friendly and helpful. However, there are a number of shortcomings as well. Firstly, we tried their lunch buffet. It was a bit disappointing in their food selection, but their desserts are delicious. Secondly, the temperature of the room (newly renovated) is extremely cold even after we switched off the air-conditioning system. Due to the cold temperature, it might affect the water for the shower as well. We were shivering when we were showering. Related to showering, the water heater is not working properly. It is warm but due to the extremely cold temperature, we were unable to enjoy a relaxing bath. In addition, the complimentary Wi-Fi has a unstable connectivity. Lastly, there is not enough parking space available for guests.

I stayed here for one night during one of my business trip to Kuching. The hotel has a significant makeover ever since I last stayed here (3-4 years back). The rooms looks cooler in look. Some of the fittings in bathrooms seems to be substandard though. The service and friendliness of stays remains positive as before. The breakfast was good with a wide spread of choices. I would really recommend this place and looking forward to stay again in future.

In general this is a big hotel which has recently been refurbished. I booked for 3 executive river view King bed rooms. Was provided with 2 king bed rooms and 1 double room. That's ok with us. Its says non smoking but the guests staying in the room prior to us definitely was smoking. Pros: Staffs are very friendly Buffet breakfast was good Aircon was super cold! Rooms were spacious Rooms were well lit. Cons: No movie channels Bathroom was choked in all 3 rooms. Small bathroom flies spotted. Linen slighlty stained. But in general it was located close to good food. Kolo mee and sarawak laksa. Able to walk to Chinatown and Jalan Padungun They also kindly allowed us late check out since we have a late night flight. Improve further and im sure it will regain its former glory.

We had booked Road View rooms but looking on Trip Advisor requested to change to River View, this involved sending repeated emails to Hotel which for some reason we never received any replies until posted on Trip Advisor, room changed to River View (Thanks) Arrived at around 10.30 and asked if it was possible to check in early, they did offer us rooms straight away but road side so we decided to wait and asked them to call us when available, we then walked down to the new footbridge over too the Orchid Gardens when the Heavens opened. Hotel called to say rooms were ready about 12.30. Stayed in room 933 which was very nice, not sure if any rooms have balcony which would have been nice. Hotel very nice inside though the outside needs some attention,as looking very tired. Breakfast buffet good though a little crowded and introduced a strange idea of submitting egg order when you sit down and it then turns up at anytime during your breakfast. All the staff are very pleasant ,my brother injured his foot and leg when he fell down a monsoon drain and the staff were absolutely fantastic helping him. A good stay

My friend had her wedding reception just recently. Prior to the event we had some trouble parking at the hotel. The security who was “helping us” that evening made us go in circles. After a confrontation of confusing us he was was absolutely rude. Athea the MOD was quick to respond to our complaints and calmed us down. Kudos to her! On the contrary, the event went very well, food was great and the service that night was superb.

Hotel is in a great location, unfortunately the room is not well kept. Sticky surfaces, used toiletries, yellowed sheets, stained bath. AC that cannot be adjusted (very cold rooms). The room is huge though, with a desk and an armchair. Free wifi. oh! no bedroom slippers too, the tiled floor gets really cold.

It has become our tradition to stay at Grand Margherita Hotel every year during the Chinese New Year holidays. Very conveniently located in Kuching's golden triangle within short walking distance to Top Spot Seafood, Kuching Waterfront Golden Anniversary bridge, Main Bazaar, shopping malls, banks, pubs and eateries. Great place to unwind with friendly staff, clean well-appointed rooms, good buffet breakfast spread & spectacular river views especially at night!
