This is a standard Holiday Inn property. If anyone is visiting Knoxville for the same day surgery clinics, this is just about the closest property to stay at the night before. Fairly easy access on and off the interstate. The breakfast is HI standard as well.
Juggling checkin for three family members coming from different directions was handled with ease by the front desk. Our room was a king bed with a sofa bed, and the layout here was one I don't often see - this was, functionally, a suite, with the sofa as part of a living room, then the bathroom and a door into the bedroom, which had the single window. There was a refrigerator, a bar-sized sink and (I think) a microwave. Good shower, enough towels. Breakfast was busy but they kept things refilled really well. Somehow I'd thought there was a pool here, but there isn't. Large parking lot in the rear and a rear entrance accessed by a key card. Also note that there's an excellent used book (and music and films) store, Mackay's just up the road; I've used another location of Mackay's and would have gone to this one had we had time.
My daughter and I were on a long road trip and this was one of the best motels we stayed at in 12 days. The front desk attendant, Danielle, was very pleasant and helpful checking me in and finding a local place to eat. By the way try Calhouns, food was awesome and they brew their own beer there. Would definitely stay here again. Room was very clean. Only draw back is the Wi-Fi is pretty spotty.
My husband and I had the recent pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express on Papermill Drive the night of July 13, 2017. We had one heck of a day traveling and attending orientation for our son at UTK and Kevin and Jeff were great in lending a sympathetic ear to our complaints regarding our day. Jeff informed Kevin to upgrade our room at no charge, which provided us with our own inroom hot tub! We were so greatful!!! The hotel was very clean and up to date. Thank you Kevin and Jeff for providing excellent service and great hospitality! Best, The Greer's
We were in town to see my son leave for Air Force basic training. This hotel was close, clean, and convenient! Lots of restaurants are within a few minutes drive. Good complimentary breakfast. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially the gentleman working the evening shift (whose name I have forgotten...sorry)! I would most definitely recommend this hotel!
Unless you love the sound of the Interstate all night, this is not the place for you. My room was literally a stone's throw from I-40, and the noise of the trucks didn't let up all night. I was assured it would not bother me. Well, it did. The room had peeling wallpaper, a valance over the window that was falling down and a broken toilet paper holder in the bathroom. Really needs attention. Also, the breakfast food provided was not appetizing. The eggs had an odd sort of over-whipped texture. English muffin in the bread display was soaking wet. They got the coffee right, but that's about it.
We stopped at this motel on our way home from the Myrtle Beach area heading to Missouri. It is so conveniently located off the highway. I would guess it is a fairly new motel and in excellent condition. Ask for a room located facing the back parking lot and the Hampton Inn for a quieter room. The other side you might hear highway traffic. Our room was typical Holiday Inn Express and very clean and nice. The best part is that there is a wonderful full scale restaurant literally almost across the street called Aubry's. It has very good food and so convenient to get to. We would definitely stay at this motel again when traveling through Knoxville.
So my father had his 65 year high school reunion and this place was close to his old stomping grounds as a kid. So we made reservations two months ago and arrived on 6/15 for a overnight stay to attend the reunion on Friday. This place is a well run customer service oriented place. Kevin and Jeff at the front desk are both professional, friendly and helpful. Got to our room and it faced the nosey main road. Called the guys at the front desk and they moved us to the back side, much quieter, wife happy. The batteries in the remote were out, no problem the guys provided a new remote. Hotel is clean, friendly staff, excellent free breakfast. My wife loved the pancake machine, she pushed a button and two fresh hot pancakes were cooked instantly and fell on her plate. The hotel has several restaurants chains with 1 mile. Next class reunion will be staying. Nice indoor pool also. Cheap and overall excellent. Since I only stay in Marriott's I was impressed. Might have to sign up for a rewards card. Tell Kevin and Jeff that Mark and Janet Williams sent you.
Clean room and helpful staff. Needed help with AC and got immediate help from room cleaners and front desk and wanted blankets and was quickly supplied with several. Breakfast was yummy! Another great HIE stay!
We had an excellent stay at this location. Room was very clean, staff was friendly and the breakfast was a step above other HIE's I've stayed at. Will return if we ever need a room in Knoxville again.
