Crowne Plaza Hotel Knoxville Downtown University

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Right by market square so walking distance to shopping, food etc. only a short 2 min drive to UT campus for sporting events. Hotel was great! Clean, comfortable and spacious

although the lobby area is very impressive, the hotel is dated and needs improvement to catch up to other brands in the area. the parking gate was a true pain and the keys did not work most of the time. there are no safes in the room so you have to count on your front desk person and wait in line to get your valuables.

Great location and fun atmosphere! Helpful staff and the best hotel in Knoxville!

Great place to stay and pet friendly!! Great experience

The hotel was very nice and in good location. The staff was very helpful and courteous. There was a fire alarm at 3:30 a.m. and it was handled in a very safe manner.

great location right across from great little shops and food. hotel and staff were super nice. my only complaint is that we ordered room service the night we checked in and NONE of the food was covered or wrapped....

Excellent staff friendliness. Over and above. Helped us with directions, market square options, and parking.

I stayed on a Wednesday night traveling through the area. The hotel is nice and friendly with an OK pool and good fitness center. The downtown area is not as congested as some other big cities. There are two areas to go, Market Square, which seems to be more family friendly (at least during the day), and Old Town, which seems to be more strictly for partying. Not too far away is the Saw Works Brewery. Check the hours before you go. It was the lowest prices I have ever paid at a brewery. For vegan food I had a Tomato Head pizza with soy cheese (I never confirmed it was vegan cheese though) which was good. There are also some other vegan options nearby.

Great for stay for business trips. It's a bit noisy at times but overall it's good.

Nice hotel but there was construction work the whole time we stayed.. But Gym and room was great..!

This hotel had a great location. Staff was super friendly, especially at breakfast. Hotel was clean. Gym was quite large and a major factor when I chose this hotel. Thanks Crowne Plaza!

Crown Plaza is close to TVA and Market Square and good walking opportunities to old World Fair site and Tennessee Theatre. However the bed could have been more comfortable as it sunk in the middle. The worst was the fire trucks at night, waking us several times. The station is only down the street and the windows don't provide much insulation from street noise. Other hotels of similar price include breakfast. Coffe in the room was VERY weak-threw it away after one sip-Get rid of Kruig and backs to packets.

The staff where some of the best I have ever seen, as for someone who stayed in motels and hotels for last 25 years this says a lot, hats off for makeing it a good stay!!!

We stayed overnight on our way to Alabama.. . They staff was wonderful, especially Mr Bennett. He was so kind. He made reservation for us for dinner as well as giving us a coupon for a free dessert. Wound stay here again.

Excellent hotel. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean with all needed amenities. Great view of the market square, which was one block away. Great location - walking distance to plenty of restaurants and bars. I would absolutely stay here again.

Check-in was a breeze. Great location to all that down town has to offer. The dining facility was very nice but the hotel bar/lounge was a little dated. Workout room was top notch for a hotel and the pool left nothing to be desired. I would recommend that you take your pillow and blanket as that the ones provided were not comfortable. Over all not bad but for the price I excepted a little more.

We took a four day driving trip from NJ through the Appalachian Mountains, had a great time and the Knoxville Crowne Plaza was the jewel in the crown at the end of the trip.

I stayed at the CP for a business trip in downtown Knoxville. While the hotel seemed a bit dated, it did have everything I needed. The gym and pool were especially remarkable. The staff were very friendly, but at times unprofessional in their approach to the job (think college kids running the valet service). Location is a key positive as it is nicely placed in-between Market Square and the Old City. Unfortunately, a large construction project took place during my stay. This significantly decreased my overall impression of the place, but I'm sure that would happen anywhere.

I was in Knoxville for a conference at the University of Tennessee. The location is ideal for enjoying the heart of downtown in the evening. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was able to print a document in the business center and enjoy the fitness/pool amenities as well. The Crowne Plaza is a value and a luxury--a difficult combination to find.

The room was fine. We had a beautiful city view. We didn't use the rest of the hotel (bar, restaurant ...) so can't comment on it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a vaguely smokey, like cigarettes, smell.
