Stayed here overnight. Front desk is great about calling you a taxi and accommodating any extra needs. Rooms were very clean and bar on the first floor. Breakfast available at an extra cost. Would stay here again
We booked a non smoking suite for a few days stay at the end of October. Upon arrival the first thing we noticed was the overwhelming smell of tobacco smoke. We went straight back to reception to highlight this and were told somebody would be along with some Febreeze shortly. We then made the mistake of unpacking, and heading out to discover Killarney. When we returned we were disappointed to find the room still smelled bad. We also discovered the wallpaper was torn in places, and huge chunks knocked out of the skirting board. I popped back to reception where I explained how to Sean at reception I wasn't really happy. I also mentioned we hadn't booked breakfast and would it be possible to have a complimentary for the first morning of our stay. Sean seemed to think this was an outrageous suggestion, laughing 'nice try!!' He did offer to try and find us another room, but as we had already unpacked I declined his offer. Instead we were forced to sleep with the radiators turned up and the windows open to try and escape the smell. For the price we paid, our stay was not an enjoyable one. Four star prices for two star service. We certainly wouldn't return
Located within walking distance from everything in Killarney, parking is available and the buzz about the hotel was great plenty of hussle and bussle when we stayed (from what we could see they were wearing team clothing for an event possible in the INEC). Rooms was adequate and all facilities as one expects. Swimming pool is not huge when we dropped in there were about 20 it was enough so we chilled in the sauna and steam room. Bar was very busy we ate here the food was very nice, staff helpful and friendly.
It's a 3 star hotel, and it serves very well to that standard. Stayed with family and it had all we needed, no major faults. They do need a new tv in the bar near the pool table though....and maybe do something to brighten up the bar in general but no major issue really.
We found a great offer via Pigsback which included a full buffet breakfast at an excellent price. Our room was perfect - a double/double which suits our needs (there are no King beds in the hotel) with a wonderful tub in the bathroom - many thanks to Jorlath on the front desk who made sure we were happy. We had dinner in the bar and received excellent food and service from Tomas. Breakfast both days was great - good offerings and well looked after by Malwina. In our room one bed was significantly firmer than the other - we asked Carina (Karina?) in houseskeeping if she could help with a different mattress or another topper - she took care of it while we were out. We had a shocking experience with a very 'touchy' / overly sensitive B&B owner the night before - so have given up on them. Much better to stick with a chain with high standards and no-one taking it personally if you don't trip over yourself complimenting them even when things aren't done well (as happened at the B&B). Could not have been happier with the stay - good product, reasonably presented for it's age with a soft refurb updating the rooms nicely. Its only a 20 minute flat walk to the heart of Killarney - nice to walk off dinner or sample restaurants and takeaways in town without needing to drive in/pay for parking/worrying about drink driving etc. Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again when we're in the area.
Holiday inn Killarney located centrally for visiting ring of Kerry, Dingle and other attractions nearby. Front desk was very efficient in dealing with their tasks as well providing valuable tourist information. Be mindful that restaurant will close around 9pm... food served in the bar are delicious however you won't be having wide choices of restaurant. Rooms are maintained well however may not be at par with modern hotel rooms. Overall not a bad experience!!!.
We stayed a few nights while driving thru. Hotel has everything we needed. Was nice they had a pool and hot tub to relax in after a long day of driving. Beds are ok, do the trick for a few nights. Like the idea of having a pub and restaurant. Makes it handy for not having to leave if you've been driving. Very close walk to centre of Killarney for shopping ! Would stay again
We quite enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn in Killarney, and would be very happy to stay again. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rate was very reasonable.
Good facilities, peaceful, and we were able to sleep well. The best restaurants and shops (i.e., city center) are about 1 mile away. The hotel's restaurant food is edible, but I'd only suggest it if you are too exhausted to go to the city center.
This is a very nice hotel in Killarney. The room had two double beds. There is no safe or refrigerator. The room had an additional table and chair besides thev standard desk and chair. The breakfast was good. Rolls, croissants, eggs, ham, beans, cheese and fruit along with various juices. The eggs are scrambled but they will fry you eggs upon request. Very accommodating.
