This is a classic & well-maintained historic hotel. It was a pleasant surprise to see the entrance, great room, grand ball room & meeting rooms kept in their original state, yet the guestrooms have been tastefully updated with modern furnishings & accoutrements. The bed was comfortable, hot water was plentiful, big screen HDTV & HVAC system performed flawlessly.

Don’t be fooled just by pictures. This is the second time I’ve booked a hotel in downtown Kansas City that was kinda actual trash. The saving grace was the bathroom but we ended up leaving and going to the crown plaza. It’s just a quick flip hotel. It’s not good.

We absolutely loved our stay. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was perfectly appointed and the location for perfect for all of our downtown activities.

The food & coffee at the lobby counter were excellent! Overall the hotel is wonderful and in a centrally located area for low-cost Lyft rides anywhere in town. The one downside of this hotel is the design of the bathroom. There is zero privacy for the toilet, even though it is off to the side (no door). This results in the bathroom being accessible to only one person at a time if privacy is desired.

Beautiful hotel - one elevator didn’t work so walking the 12 flights was a bit much but the hotel was accommodating to use freight and service elevators made the best of the situation . Bar front door and and front desk personal outstanding !
