Our stay was a Thursday night and a Friday night. There was some trouble with the room's door which was very inconvenient and prevented us from coming and going as we pleased. The technician had a frayed tool that prevented him from easily opening our door. We did not want to risk leaving the room, waiting for the technician, and hoping the almost broken instrument to open the door manually would work again. The hotel was able to resolve the issue before the end of our stay, but we felt confined to the room Thursday night. There was a noticeable difference in the quality of staff during the week and the weekend. The weekend staff were much more knowledgeable and had better customer service skills. The weekend staff had detailed information for getting into and out of NYC and even offered to help us carry our luggage down when they could not find a luggage cart. The weekday staff could not properly identify the problem with our door and had to wait for the next day to have someone else solve the problem. They also did not provide useful travel information into and out of NYC saying to "just Google it". The best part about the hotel was the free parking.

Great location to hop on the NJ Transit bus to Manhattan.

Short weekend and a nice stay. So close to chain restaurants and shopping, very convienient!

Hotel in good location ,safe neighborhood, fast Acces to highway, friendly and attentive.would have been better with breakfast included,I'm coming back next trip.

Our family has stayed here two years in a row, mainly because we got a great rate early, but we find that the location has many other pluses. It is right off highway 3, so convenient to get to and parking here is free! Head into the city three ways: Best way is by train and the hotel provides a free shuttle service, but it only runs until 10 PM. The second choice is bus, right behind the hotel, which takes you to the central bus depot in the city. Return can be confusing, so ask the desk for the bus schedule at the bottom it tells the gates for different times. This is the cheapest way to get back after 10. There is a ferry that can be accessed, but you have to take a cab to get there. This expensive and the longest, but an option. There is a café in the hotel, but you have many restaurants an easy walk. The Outback is literally out back. There are shops including Walmart a block away. The rooms are showing slight wear, some stains on the rugs, but they are larger than almost any you will find in the city. Great deal near the city and quieter too. Staff was helpful, including Edwina, Jay, Janice...and others.

The hotel is in a good location. Bus is right across the street. Easy to get into the city. Staff and manager are great. They were very helpful and very nice. The problem was the hotel itself. There's no no pool. The housekeeping was horrible. They never cleaned my room. I was there for three nights four days they never clean my room. They barely even the pick up the garbage. My shower was never cleaned the only thing that they did do was replaced towels. I feel horrible leaving such a bad review because the manager and staff are so great but the hotel itself not so much.

Clean and clear rooms, nice staff, unbeatable location

title says it all. i would try anoyjer place next time

The hotel was very clean, but there was no pool. For the price you pay, there should be more amentities. Great location for NYC. Nice restaurants, & other attractions that are just walking distance from the hotel.

Nice hotel, great employees, google bagels. Nice view

If you are looking to fly into Newark and take a quick look into NYC, this IS the place to stay. We had free parking for our family that visited after we flew in to the airport. Shuttle from the airport is confusing. However, we only had to walk across the street to catch a city bus into NYC. EASY! The staff gave us the bus schedule for going and returning and made it super easy for us. No driving/parking in the city which can cost 60$! Restaurants all over the place (walking distance). GREAT experience. Will do it again. Oh and breakfast was FABulous.

Very expensive for what it is. Could hear the neighbors through the wall at night. However, location is perfect if you are visiting the expo center, it is about a 2 minute walk. I would NOT recommend staying here if you are planning on visiting NYC - traffic getting into the city can be horrible and it can take you over an hour to get to midtown.

Thje Courtyard was a good hotel, and the price was fair. It was about a ten minute drive from the Secaucus Junction NJ transit train station, so it was pretty easy to get to NYC from there. Several places to eat close to the hotel also, which was good. The hotel was being remodeled, however, and the noise beginning at 9 AM was unbelievably loud. I don't recall reading about the remodeling while I was booking the room. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

this hotel was wonderful for us. the check in time was 3 pm but we were there at 12.30 pm and they gave us a room. the hotel staff were helpful and the room was very clean and silent. overall it's too close to manhattan. google map says 25-30 min. but it's 15-20 min. from hotel to manhattan (time square). the bus station is about 1 min. away by walking. I strongly offer you to stay there.

I have visited better hotel for the price i was charged with better amenities.

Very friendly front desk personnel and the room was very clean.

Easy commute to NYC

We were 7 miles out of NYC Manhattan. The rental with Hertz was wonderful. The food next door at Outback was excellent and we were less than a mile from a Walmart Supercenter. The housekeeping staff was flexible, thorough, and cooperative. We enjoyed the amenities of our room: refrigerator, coffee pot, couch, television, and internet. [...]

The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and quiet. Our only complaint was the 15.00 breakfast. That is way too expensive! We ate somewhere else.

The room was very nice, the staff did screw up our shuttle reservations and we ended up sharing a cab with other vistors. It would be nice if they offered a complimentary light breakfast or even just a beverage station in the morning.
