Meadowlands River Inn

2.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

I follow several hotels before deciding on this one and my experience was to much better than I thought Staff is wonderful.... always helping you I really recomend it.

My experiences with Meadowlands River Inn was very positive. It was walking distance to the expo and all the restaurants

We've stayed here several times and use this hotel as our go to when visiting NYC.

We used to go when was Hampton Inn and it was fabulous but now it is kept poorly. One of the elevators did not work well and you had to push door yourself. Mattress was poor and not comfortable. Furniture is old . It needs full renovation. Staff was appropriate. Location is good . I would not recommend.

enjoyed my stay at this hotel free parking breakfast included in general pretty good hotel

We expected so much more from a hotel that had a 4.2 rating. The staff was pleasant for check-in and check-out, and that is really the only good thing I can say about our experience here. The room and bathroom are in need of repair, which can be understandable, to an extent. However, the furniture was peeling, the shower cracked and missing tiles, and the A/C unit did not seem to work at all. Before using the shower, we noticed someone's hair on the shower wall, like it hadn't even been cleaned. By the bathroom sink there we coffee spills, like that area had not been cleaned either. While the kids did not mind the beds, for us adults, the beds were SUPER uncomfortable and you really felt the next morning. We were also awakened at 3:30am by a car alarm going off outside for quite awhile, and then again at 4:30am for approximately 20 minutes while a couple opened and shut doors and yelled and hollered in the hallway. These may not be something the hotel has much control over, but when we stayed in other hotels with similar ratings, we did not have those types of problems. Lastly, the buffet breakfast...The eggs were some kind of powdered egg substance and there was no meat to accompany them such as bacon or sausage. There was a waffle machine but it was chaotic because there were so many people trying to use it at once (while another one remained unused in a room that had been opened for "overflow." We ended up settling for a breakfast of muffins, yogurt and cold cereal.

The bus to NYC is literally right across the street!

Hotel is in a congested area off 95. It used to be a Hampton Inn but is now independent. Hotel is tired and needs a makeover. Its generally clean but fixtures/furnishing show age and continual use. Deep cleaning is costly and it shows. Air conditioning provided by a glorified window shaker. The noise drowned out the highway 95 traffic. We became accustomed to its white noise. Staff is the biggest plus here, they try very hard to accommodate their guests. I give them an A+! Free breakfast was...OK. Eggs, not so good, but waffles, bagels, fruit, juice, cereal, oatmeal, and plenty of coffee. Coffee & tea 24 hrs! Bus access is literally, across the street to all points; NYC and Hoboken bus, train, and light rail station. A do over would make this hotel #1

the hotel meets all that offers good service and very comfortable perfect to visit new York outside the transit and has shopping Center near and area very safe, recommend it.

This hotel is very good in term of the price and its location. We parked our car in the hotel (parking included) and took a bus to go to PATB New York; it's about 20 minutes trip... Hotel condition/ cleanliness and breakfast were okay. The staff that went above and beyond was Lorena. She was very helpful and kind; she assisted us with Grayline tour bus as well. If you're looking for a hotel with good location, descent condition and good price then this is the one.

Real quiet, room was very clean, comfortable. Was not missing a thing. Best room by far around this area for the price

Positive: Hotel personel Negative: very poor breakfest tough it is an intercontinental hotel Lack of airy ambient inside the rooms due to fixed windows Unsufficient tv channels interms of international aspect Unavailability of slipper in rooms

Had a great stay and would love to visit again. Very close to hotels. Nice breakfast

Room and linens are nice & clean. Beds comfortable, pillows plush.

StAff was wonderful. Very helpful. Breakfast was good. Room clean. Great location for food and to MetLife stadium.

Hotel was clean. Staff was nice. Great location to get into the city, bus stop right across the street, for a 15 minute ride into Manhattan. Only complaints hotel is not visiable from the street and for some reason does not come up in GPS, had issues with UBER the entire trip.

Hotel is nice and clean and easy to get to from NYC. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is great. Hotel is a little older, but has everything you could really ever need. Its really close to a lot of places to eat and things to do.

I was staying in this a few times when traveled to NYC. Always it was very clean, but this time room wasn't clean as usually. Had some dust on walls, looks like it came from air conditioner. Also walls need to be cleaned or repainted. Staff is nice and friendly.

we got closed out of the original hotel we wanted to stay in and choose to stay here instead. we were pleasantly surprised. it was a great location for attending the expo center and the staff was very helpful. we would stay here again.

Very convenient if you are traveling with your own car to NYC, the parking is for free, and the bus stop to go to the Port Authority at NYC is very close to the Hotel. You can take the bus and get down at the Port Authority and from there you can go anywhere using the subway, NYC buses or walk. This is a good way to avoid the expensive hotels at NYC.
