Recent renovation looks great, but left issues.
This property has been my go to for years now, and before this stay I had only had one poor experience and that was chalked up to on ongoing renovation. This stay, while the staff as excellent as it always has been, and the recent t reno has the place looking very modern, the room had some significant issues. The deadbolt was misaligned and would not lock, the bathroom door was hung crooked and I was unable to get it to close, and either the box spring or the bed frame was broken, allowing the box spring to slide out of the frame and sag in the middle. Not enough for me to request a room change, but certainly noticeable when trying to sleep. Also, it seemed like I could hear a lot more of what was going on outside my room than I've ever noticed before. If you're a light sleeper, this may not be the best choice for you. This area is an excellent spot for a trip into NYC because an express bus stops right there. The staff has always been very accommodating, either checking me in early if room is available or at least allowing me to park and check in late at night after returning from NYC. This property is in a plaza with a bunch of restaurants, a cinema, even Walmart, so very convenient.

**They are doing renovations on the property** We had to walk around the back of the building to use a separate entrance to get to the elevator because it was not accessible from the main entrance. This was not convenient at night with a child coming back from dinner. When I got ready for bed the 1st night I noticed hair on my sheets when I pulled the blanket back. No one would bring clean sheets to my room because “no one was available” so I had to go downstairs from the 5th floor to get clean sheets. On my walk down to the front desk housekeeping was in front of me walking the sheets to the front desk (she could have dropped them off at the room). The night before checking out I called and asked for a late checkout, they said no problem. The next morning they were calling the phone right at 11 asking when I was checking out. They also sent housekeeping to ask this even tho I had already spoke with someone. Late checkout was at 12, they were calling again at 11:45 to see if I was close to leaving. Common areas of hotel were clean. Some of the staff were friendly when we crossed paths. Hotel seemed empty for the most part, we only saw a couple other guest and parking lot was empty. Probably wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.

Plenty of parking, I felt very safe traveling with my family, super cheap and convenient bus service right out front takes you NYC just blocks from times square. Seriously the bus service was so nice. Good restaurants right across the street. The staff was not super helpful at times. I called down a couple times to see if they had a fan that I could use and nobody every gave me an answer, and I definitely didn't get a fan. Everything was super clean and remodeled, showers were beautiful. Overall we would definitely stay here again for future trips to NYC.
