It’s incredibly overpriced. The entire hotel smells horribly of smoke. All the surfaces (floors, counters) remained sticky and wet (upstate NY humidity) 24/7. Total ripoff.
Like: Proximity to my destination Could be better: de-clogged bathtub. Thank you.
There were dust bunnies in the corners. I thought, they didn't vacuum very well. In the morning I saw that they use a Swiffer type mop rather than a vacuum cleaner. Need to get in those corners better.
Friendly staff, great location, great price!
Room was clean and comfortable. Hallway smelled of smoke but room did not. Breakfast was bare bones.
Do NOT stay here, even as a last resort! The room was supposedly sanitized prior to us checking in, but we found leftover stuff from the previous guest. There was a sign on the front door indicating that everyone had to wear a mask, but only one of the 8 or so employees I encountered wore one. You get no daily service, but only a tiny garbage can that we filled rather quickly. The room was decent, but the hallway looked dirty because the carpet needs to be replaced. The breakfast was pathetic. Businesses need to stop blaming COVID for poor service! Especially given what they are charging. Also note that there isn't an elevator, so if you get a room on the second floor you have to lug your stuff up the narrow stairs yourself, not to mention a disabled person trying to get to their room. The young man working the desk did help my mom and I. He was the only bright spot.
The staff of the hotel was helpful and friendly, but that could not make up for some of the environmental and structural problems of the building and location. Most notably, the building provides no soundproofing at all, so every door slam and hallway conversation is very audible in the room. And everything in the room felt moist, even with the air conditioner running full blast. Though a small detail, the shower curtain rod was installed incorrectly so that it bowed into the shower area instead of out into the rest of the bathroom, making it impossible to shower without wrapping yourself in the curtain (as dozens of previous guests also must have done).
Collapsed mattress and loud construction all night right outside our window. Curtains didn’t cover bottom of window so we used pillows to cover the bright lights from construction work.
Negatives: Room damp, floor sticky, bedding and towels cheap, no breakfast, wi-fi connected but unusable. Positive: Walk to Wegmans, easy access to main road, shower nice Orbitz is misleading allowing businesses to say they have things like breakfast or queen size bed then caveat with "call for Covid restrictions" and "subject to availability"
Luckily we were only really looking for a place to sleep. Location was great for sightseeing in Ithaca. Staff wasn’t overly attentive. Usually outside smoking or hanging around chatting without masks on. No amenities offered. First floor parking lot side rooms were very loud.
The location is great, the place is good but don't expect high end accomodations. We enjoyed our stay.
The room was clean and comfortable and I had a good experience at super8
The property was neat just seems dated. The staff was friendly, breakfast was good. The room inc bathroom were clean, bed was comfortable and tv, wifi & a/c worked as expected. The color of the room just seemed outdated, didn't affect my stay.
Loved that the hotel is maintained in good condition; and the stsff? Lovely!!
