The Property smelled like an old musty attic. There was hair on bathroom floor and it looked like it was not cleaned just wipe with a damp cloth. The first thing I noticed was the lobby, which had water stained drop down ceiling like I was in some old house basement. Then there was the smell and the unkempt appearance of the staff. I was truely mortified. I ended spending most of my weekend in my daughter's apartment. Yes. It's probly the cheapest you'll find in the area, but for $30 or $60 more please stay elsewhere.

Musty odor in the hallways is unpleasant. The heater in the room also irradiates an unpleasant odor so we could not use it because of it.

Low price given how close to Cornell Campus, but the hotel is not in good condition. It seems that the owners left the hotel decided not to renovate it some years back. Did not have any problem with the room, shower, coffee machine, etc, but I would give it a star or two at the most

Just neutral. Could have been cleaner the trash cans were over flowing

out dated property. Needs massive renovations. Not appealing at all. Breakfast was microwave sandwiched (terrible), cereal and waffles

Room I reserved was gone so they gave me a cheaper room and billed me for the same one I reserved. I stayed there because they allowed my dog. The room was dirty and old. My dog was trying to eat things off the floor. The view from the room was an abandoned swimming pool with a partially torn down roof over it and construction fencing that prob hadnt been touched in a few years. I can deal with old. I dont expect luxury...but I felt like i was paying to squat. The pictures online are completely decieving. It felt like an abondoned motel.

It was very inexpensive and showed it. The bedroom floor was redone in fake wood that bounced when you walked. Efforts had been made to upgrade certain rooms, but the overall feeling was not good. I took a picture of the elevator, which gave a terrible bang when it started to lift. I also took a picture of the canopy over the front door. If there's a way to attach them to this survey, I will. The staff did their best.

Liked: easy in & out. Room was quiet. Bed was comfortable. Didn’t like: this hotel is a sad old lady who needs to be totally outfitted—parking lot is a disaster, with no outside lights (on) in lot when I arrived at midnight. Buttons are broken in elevator & it made so much noise in it’s struggle to work, I used the stairs. Tile was buckling from the wall in the bathtub/shower. TV channels were bare minimum & the Weather Channel (I was there for Cornell’s graduation) didn’t work. Bathroom amenity package for +$300/night was pathetic.

I arrived at night. There is absolutely no exterior lights to indicate its a hotel. Outside of building says ' Trip Ithaca' or something like that. I had to drive around the building twice to determine if this was really the hotel. Parking lot look like a warzone with pot holes every where. Not a place ever I would take my family to stay

Run down. Lobby smells of mildew. Property looks abandoned

The Trip Hotel is extremely close to my Mother's retirement facility and is far and away the least expensive hotel in the Ithaca area. The building is a bit dilapidated, the pool has been out of commission for quite a while, the parking lot is filled with potholes. The bathrooms are a bit cramped. But, they serve a free breakfast, and the roof doesn't leak. The beds aren't the best, but the sheets are clean. If you're just looking for a place to sleep when visiting, they're not bad.

It was a place to sleep and have breakfast nothing more. Other hotels had a much higher rate. We gave this one a shot. It is an older hotel. Staff was great! Condition of the property was fair to poor depending on what you encountered. We slept good as it was quiet seemed like some last minute business or people traveling came in but not too late. Breakfast was enough to fill us up. Breakfast was make your own belgium waffles, yogurts, cereal and milk, OJ, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches (microwaved them), muffins, coffee. All good for what we needed. Parking lot is a mess (It is upstate NY and we only park the car there).

The exterior of the trip hotel is in awful condition. I literally thought it had been closed down when I pulled up in front of the lobby. The pavement is badly potholed, the concrete on their entry portico is crumbling, and most of the exterior lights were out. However, the interior is OK. The lobby was fine, and my room was good except for the shower, which had mold on the caulking. There was a sign in the lobby stating that the pool was closed for renovations, so if looking for a hotel with a pool, look elsewhere. No evidence of progress on any renovations was apparent.
