The staff were vere friendly, polite and helpful, the room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel. we only had a 2 night stay on a short city break and the hotel location was ideal and within walking distance of the spice market, Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia & Blue Mosque. There are plenty of places to eat nearby and the hotel has a lovely roof restaurant offering 15% discount to residents. We plan to visit Istanbul again for a bit longer and will definetly use this hotel if rooms are available.

We stayed here as a family of 4 in November for a short city break. We had booked 2 double rooms but I think on arrival we were given the suites (these rooms were an upgrade from the ones we had actually paid for). The rooms were lovely and exactly like the professional pictures on the hotels website. The rooms including the hotel were spotless. Every member of staff we came across were outstanding, very polite and professional. Although credit goes to ALL staff who work at this hotel, the only names we managed to remember were Sami and Yusuf at reception. They could not do enough to help us, nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel is in the best location it could possibly be, with plenty of reasonably priced restaurants surrounding it and within walking distance to all the highlights including the blue mosque, hagia sophia, topkapi palace etc. Breakfast was also great, could not fault it. In summary, this hotel is fantastic for a city break and without a doubt I would return to it if I was to travel to Istanbul again. Thank you for such an amazing stay.

Booked a family room for 2 adults 2 children. Think we got a suite (2 adjoining rooms) which was perfect as my husband needed to work for some of the time so was able to shut himself off. Location was great - we were able to walk for less than 3 minutes to the sights of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. On the way we passed by many shops and a small bazaar. Plenty of restaurants on the doorstep. Restaurant owners and staff were always friendly and courteous.

*THIS IS A TWO START HOTEL* DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! It is smelly, (like a septic tank), dirty, (bathrooms have mold and black dirt on walls and the white tiles) and worst of all the day staff are racist, violent and rude. This is my honest experience from the last two days and I have raised and official Complaint with British Airways as I book the ticket with them. I am also writing this review from the hotel (unfortunately I still have two more nights). Arrived on 15/10 and was told hotel was fully booked. I was led to the servants' quarters which was 15 minutes away from the hotel and main streets in an isolated part of town. As a single female travelling alone I immediately turned this down and informed hotel manager Hikmed I will NOT be staying anywhere that wasn't what I booked. I was then given the hotel next door to theirs, the Magnura House, which I believe is an inn with NO apology from the staff at this disgusting hotel for messing up my holidays. My night at this hotel was painful as the walls were so thin, I could hear people and the cleaners up all night banging and claterring all through! To make matters worst the cleaners walked in on me naked even though I had a "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door! The next day no-one came to collect me from Byzantium and I made my way across the street with my luggage. I was given a smelly room with a Seaview as "compensation." The manager, Hikmed, said he was doing me a favour as normally when we book with British Airways we are given a basement room. The cheek of him! My room smelled of a septic tank, (and this a general smell that meets you throughout the hotel) and of a broken toilet filled with one week old rotten faeces. The so called "Seaview"was obscured by a roof infront of me. The air conditioner wasn't working so I couldn't rid of the horrid smell even with the windows open! I asked to be changed and was shown a second room that had the same septic tank smell in the bathroom and room. I was then taken to the basement with no light that faced unto an old rotten courtyard with discarded clothes strewn across it and moss green walls. BUT it didn't smell so I had no option and took it. WORST mistake ever as there was NO light that came through, and I heard people flushing the toilet all night! The next morning I had to call for EVERYTHING as the rooms are so poorly stocked. No shower hat, etc. I was told the hotel has no iron... No iron in the whole hotel? Preposterous! I remembered I had forgotten some of my items in the previous room and called reception for this. Spoke with Hikmed who said as cleaners were in the previous room I could go and collect my things. On arrival cleaners had stolen my items and pretended not to understand me. They sent one of the reception staff, Yasmine, who called me the N- word, screamed at me that the cleaners didn't have my things, and then Yasmine put her hands on me! I told her if she ever placed her hand on me I would call the police! She kept on screaming and at this point another staff member arrived and tried to get hold of my hand... I screamed back and said if they ever touched me again, I would get them arrested! Then the cleaners appeared mysteriously with my items they had originally claimed they didn't have. THIEVES! I changed rooms three times during my stay due to poor sanitary conditions. At the end of my stay the night manager then give me a FAKE bill of £15 claiming I had run up a bill from the bar! With the exception of breakfast I had NEVER eaten or drank anything in this hotel and had ALL meals outside! DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE BLACK.

Located on a nice street with lots of reasonably priced restaurants. Our room faced the street and was very clean and nicely decorated with comfortable beds, though it was very dark. As detailed in previous reviews, there is a lot of noise from the street, though this did not bother us. Decent breakfast. Very nice rooftop bar and restaurant. Lovely staff.

We got a free upgrade on arrival!! The receptionist 'Yusuf' was brilliant! The location is perfect and the room was just right for a couple with a lovely view of the sea. Overall brilliant experience. Thank you!

The first thing that I liked about this place was the guy out the front didn't yell at me on the street like most places. He smiled and greeted me politely and wasn't pushy at all. The service was great and they altered the menu to suit my vegan diet. It was super tasty, great views and very reasonably priced. I have been twice now in my two days and will definitely go back again before I leave!

I stayed 4 nights in byzantium hotel, very kind stuff and helpful and knows english and arabic, clean hotel and the room service is great, the location is perfect, near everything in sultanahmet. Nice breakfast and lunch in the roof, very luxury suite with bosphorus view. I advice everyone to try this hotel.

I went to the Hotel 3 times in total and I really enjoyed it. The first 2 times I went with a tourgroup from switzerland and the third time with my family because I really loved the Hotel. It has beautiful and comfortable rooms. My family loved it too. The service people are really kind and friendly we all liked them and we are like a family now. We felt like we were at home.

The budget rooms are extremely small, we had to upgrade to a larger room for extra charge. The bed was hard as wood. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very limited and dull. They had two warm food types, mostly only boring white bread and only watermelon for fruit. No fruit yogurt (for kids at least). Only 2 high chairs for the whole restaurants. No pool.
