Pro's Beach excellent - sun beds really good and private. Rooms good Restaurant, loved the food, best food on the island. Staff, excellent, especially at the restaurant. Really close to the centre without being noisy Stunning views. Value for money excellent No real cons - Wifi is terrible but we were warned this was the case.
Second visit at Casa Iguana. We spent 9 nights in a truly amazing place. Great staff. Great breakfast. Leave your shoes home. Leave your flip flops home as well. By far it is the best deal on Holbox..
This was our 2nd time on Holbox and staying at Casa Iguana. We like that it’s a smaller, quiet place, is eco- friendly and great location on the beach and just a 5 minute walk to town center. The manager is very friendly and has great recommendations if looking for ideas of places to eat, things to do, etc. They are also dog friendly which as animal lovers we really enjoy. We will definitely stay at Casa Iguana again next time
We really enjoyed our stay here. The beach is close and the staff was terrific. A short walk to town but very quiet at night. And the restaurant staff were very attentive, both for breakfast and drinks on the beach.
We throughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Iguana! Clean, beautiful grounds and accommodations. Conveniently located with awesome, friendly staff. Big thanks to Daniella and Miguel for taking care of us and making our vacation extra enjoyable when a third party hotel booking service lost our reservation. We are so glad and fortunate we got to stay at Casa Iguana! Highly recommend this place to everyone! Can’t wait to go back!
Hotel staff was not helpful at all, room was not convenient (missing tv, fridge, closet, trash bin etc) and with too much unnecesasy decor like hammock in the middle of the room. Hotel is filled with dogs apparently of the owner running around. Way too overpriced for what we have paid. Beach is just horrible. Better go to Isla de las mujeres where there is an actual paradise. The island is filled with mosquitos so the bed should be covered as well.
I have nothing positive to say about this place. I felt there was zero flexibility from the hotel's side as we called prior to arrival and asked to change the dates but were requested to pay a penalty although still staying for the same original number of nights. Thus, we kept the reservation as is. As our travel plans changed , we asked to stay 3 nights instead of 4 upon arrival and encountered the most ridiculous situation possible: the lady at reception said she cannot change the reservation as we made it via booking.com, so we should call them for such a change. We called booking.com who contacted the same lady at reception who told them SHE will not allow a modification and we must pay for a night we won't even use...why even bother to waste our time and energy and ask us to call...it's good we had a local SIM...we really felt like they're treating us like money bags and not people. To top that, the promised 'paradise' looked and smelled dreadful due to 'saragaso' seaweed which supposedly influences the entire Caribbean sea. To be honest, if having a so called private beach, you should clean the beach as it's the thing people come for. We felt trapped on this little island with little to do and anything apart from paradise. In addition, since this is a quiet place, it would be nice to have a TV in the room plus more amenities ..what they do have is some scary drawing of a girl and a hammock stuck in the middle of the room. The place is noisy as well and you can hear everything that happens in the 'street' outside. The WiFi doesn't work in public areas although published as such, and even our local SIM card didn't work there whilst on a boat trip in the middle of nowhere it worked perfectly fine. Please do yourselves a favor and take a nicer place for this price. You can surely find better options.
Me and my partner stayed there for three nights and it was simply amazing! The room was spacious and clean with a small porch with a hanging chair. Breakfast was good and generous. The location is perfect, 5min walking from the town center. The small restaurant of the hotel makes really great food!
Casa Iguana offers a great structure in Holbox. Their rooms are spacious, comfortable for a good night sleep. There is no internet or tv in the rooms, so make sure you bring enough books for your stay. They aso have a great restaurant in their facilities and offer beach chairs.
This was my second visit to Casa Iguana and I must say it’s a very good option for short or long stay. The staff Michael, Jessica and Daniel were so helpful and kind. The rooms are modern clean and very well designed. The restaurant on site is practical and the breakfast included in the price are amazing. Casa Iguana organized a private transport for us to go back to the airport at a very reasonable price. Kiko was there to meet us in Chiquila, et was very nice very professional and played good music!
