Business hotel in walking distance to Innsbruck airport. Spacy rooms with bath in bathrooms. Even lsauna on 3rd floor. Investing breakfast price in a nice lunch somewhere seems to make sense. However a comfortable hotel with helpful staff near airport. For going town u need taxi or bus Number F (about 15 min),
Right when we walked in, tired and grumpy, we were met by a very friendly guy at the front desk who checked us in quickly and with a very pleasant attitude. The room was perfect for our family of 3, nicely sized and really comfortable. Would stay there again!
Don’t confuse this with the Penz hotel which is a nice downtown hotel. This is a very basic airport hotel with minimal everything. Ugly. Bad location. Parking is open air across the road. Small room. Clean bath. Very disappointing
My colleague and I stayed at this hotel for one night because it was close to the airport and offered great facilities. Fair price I would say on balance. Some highlights: The female receptionist upon arrival and male receptionist upon departure were excellent. The room was large and spacious and immaculately clean. The breakfast was a good standard with excellent variety. The 30min walk into town is flat and easy. Excellent bus service too. The evening meal was good value and catered for nearly all dietary requirements. Bar and restaurant staff friendly and professional. The gym, sauna, steam room etc are exceptional. Great relaxation area. Perfect city break hotel. I must say, as someone who stays in a lot of hotels, other than the infrequent aircraft noise I couldn’t fault it.
Nice view, near to the airport, with solid connection to the city. Hotel is clear, nice food but if you go to the breakfast at 9:30 (breakfast is till 10:00) you will obtain that you don't get any buffet (or just leftovers). Stuff already cleans tables and buffet at 9:30 and you don't have anything to eat. If you ask them, to bring stuff to buffet they respond that they will bring you what you want to eat but not to the buffet. A bit disappointed with this.
Was recomended this from a friend and booking on web was smooth. Hotel difficult to spot becuse of bad sign, found high up on wall at the end! Came from skiholiday with big bags and the entrance through groundfloor was the choice but door calling to reception does not work! Luckily the receptionist came out. 150€ for a night ! Had to call for xtra pillow and blancket, but came fast. Training facilities was a reason to choose this but bad sign again and sterile again, todays customers demand better facilities. Cheek with Choice and Thon Hotels, they reflect todays demands. No water in gym but kind cleaning lady filled up😀 on our floor cleaning lady blokked the hall! Good Breakfast and helpful receptionist but beware they try to sell every customers dinnertable, many nice preferrable Gästhauses in Old town, more atmosphere and very good food. Only 3 km and 10-12 € for å taxi, worth it!
ahhh...just the room and place to be this time of the year...the snow capped mountains is a sight that you cannot tire of and the close proximity to the airport; it is a hotel I can recommend for a real good value for money. Breakfast was fantastic attended by most polite and courteous staff. I enjoyed my stay.
I stayed at this property for a week for a work conference. Overall, the property is nice, tastefully appointed and in general clean and safe feeling. The room I was given was incredibly minimalistic. There was no alarm clock, the in room phone did not work, and no hot water kettle nor coffee maker, no microwave, mini fridge with minimal space for own food/drink. (TV only had one english station.) Given I was there for work meetings (and traveling from abroad), it was particularly hard to not have an in room clock nor working phone to request a wake up call (e.g. the first days when one's internal clock is still adjusting). The other item I found difficult was not having access to hot water/coffee. There was no in room way to make coffee (- aside from if one brought own instant packet and used the tap hot water. ick). A grocery store was not too far walking distance (~1 mile) however, in ice and snow conditions, it makes for a long journey. Breakfast was included --- though coffee was available on request only, and the wait staff were in general less than service oriented. I often waited 30 minutes or more to even be approached to ask for coffee. Breakfast was european style - with very small portions. "Oatmeal" was the size of about 1/4th a cup of food. Vegetables and fruits and sweet pastries were the other main offerings (for vegans). Soymilk was available on day one in a small packet --- but then never available again for the remainder of my stay. There is a nice gym and sauna facility. Caution, however, it appears the facility is shared with the nearby children's center/school and the few hours the sauna was open, I found many times overrun by high school age children drinking beers --- preventing hotel guests from entry or an enjoyable experience.
The hotel is located close to the airport, and it is convenient place to stay if you fly away from airport. On the other hand. If you go, like us, every day in the city center, where restaurants, congresses and events are, this hotel is not the best choice. Breakfast food choice was great. Extremely friendly staff. Although my recommendation is for all guests to choose the penz hotel which is in the city center, it is much better option.
Due to adverse weather, four of us found ourselves in Innsbruck for an unplanned overnight stay. Penz Hotel West , is only a few hundred meters from the airport and adjacent to Innsbruck University Athletics track. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The rooms are plain, but quite spacious with a large selection of towels and toiletries. Also a huge tv, if that's what you're after. There is apparently a very good restaurant just a few minutes walk away, but because we were very tired after a long day travelling, we decided to stay in the hotel. I'm so glad we did. The menu was limited, but generous helpings , well presented. The Viennese schnitzel was very popular. I had four excellent pink lamb chops, with sautéed potatoes and fine beans wrapped in bacon , in a lovely jus. One of the best lamb dishes I've had. Well done chef. The buffet breakfast, was really good, with acres of nicely presented fare, including a chaffing dish of bacon and eggs, but after so much fruit , meats and a myriad of other delicacies. I hardly had room for much else. The freshly ground coffee, was top notch. When we came to check out at 11, we were offered to keep our rooms until 2pm, at no extra charge, which enabled us to go into Innsbruck for a few hours and then get back and rest and change for our 4 pm flight. This was a nice gesture and much appreciated. All in all a very nice and unexpected stay, in a lovely city. Penz Hotel has a city based hotel as well. If the standard is as good as Penz West and you don't need to stay close to the airport, it might be worth looking at.
