Penz Hotel West

The hotel is located close to the airport, and it is convenient place to stay if you fly away from airport. On the other hand. If you go, like us, every day in the city center, where restaurants, congresses and events are, this hotel is not the best choice. Breakfast food choice was great. Extremely friendly staff. Although my recommendation is for all guests to choose the penz hotel which is in the city center, it is much better option.

Due to adverse weather, four of us found ourselves in Innsbruck for an unplanned overnight stay. Penz Hotel West , is only a few hundred meters from the airport and adjacent to Innsbruck University Athletics track. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The rooms are plain, but quite spacious with a large selection of towels and toiletries. Also a huge tv, if that's what you're after. There is apparently a very good restaurant just a few minutes walk away, but because we were very tired after a long day travelling, we decided to stay in the hotel. I'm so glad we did. The menu was limited, but generous helpings , well presented. The Viennese schnitzel was very popular. I had four excellent pink lamb chops, with sautéed potatoes and fine beans wrapped in bacon , in a lovely jus. One of the best lamb dishes I've had. Well done chef. The buffet breakfast, was really good, with acres of nicely presented fare, including a chaffing dish of bacon and eggs, but after so much fruit , meats and a myriad of other delicacies. I hardly had room for much else. The freshly ground coffee, was top notch. When we came to check out at 11, we were offered to keep our rooms until 2pm, at no extra charge, which enabled us to go into Innsbruck for a few hours and then get back and rest and change for our 4 pm flight. This was a nice gesture and much appreciated. All in all a very nice and unexpected stay, in a lovely city. Penz Hotel has a city based hotel as well. If the standard is as good as Penz West and you don't need to stay close to the airport, it might be worth looking at.

After having a nightmare start to our Austrian holiday the staff at this hotel as well as their city hotel did everything possible to put our holiday back on track. Special thanks to Fritz. The hotel is only a few kilometres from town and it is all new and fresh. Car parking is free which is a bonus in Europe. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Comfortable clean room and great beds.

We satyed at the hotel for 4 days at a premium room. The room was clean and tidy and looks in a very good condition. Breakfast was rich and we took in outside on the balcony in front of the mountain view. One of the waiters spoke Hebrew and gave us a warm welcome. Overall we got a great value for our money.

Nice hotel.. located near the airport, about 5 km from the center. The breakfast is rich and tasty. The room is nice.. there is wi fi all around the hotel including in the room. Important: there is an air condition - which is a rare thing in Australia..

We stayed at the Penz west for an overnight stay. Clean, friendly, free parking, 5 minutes drive from Innsbruck a\p, a very good breakfast. we took a taxi to visit Innsbruck beautiful center - 12 euros. Easy and proper. As the outside (and inside..) temperatures were unbearable, and the hotel does not have an air condition (Austrian alps..). the reception provided us with a ventilator that eased the situation a bit ...

Stayed here for 8 nights as part of a conference package. The hotel is a little way out of town but was located right next to the University where my conference was being held. It is located on the road to Innsbruck airport which is only 5-10 mins walk away. From the railway station the cheapest way to get to the hotel is to catch the public “F” bus which stops just a little way beyond the hotel. A single ticket is 2.30 euros if you buy in advance or 2.90 on the bus. A taxi from the train station costs about 20 euros. The hotel is modern and well equipped with a breakfast room, bar and restaurant downstairs and a gym/sauna complex on the 3rd floor (no pool). Rooms are also modern and spacious with all the amenities you would usually expect except for tea/coffee making facilities (a real miss) and an iron and ironing board. You can either get the hotel to do your ironing for you or go down to the hotel laundry and do it yourself for free (which I did!). The gym has a few bikes, a treadmill and a cross fit machine as well as weights. Towels and bottled water (in a fridge) are supplied free of charge. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, speed seemed to be ok to me. Breakfast is buffet style and offers an extensive choice of hot and cold options. Everything is lovely and fresh, especially the fruit and bakery offerings. You can ask for an omelette or eggs cooked as you wish for no extra charge. Barista coffee is extra but worth it. Dinner is served in a separate room just by the bar. Very good service and choice of food offering local specialities at a decent price accompanied by a selection of good quality Austrian wines. Be aware the restaurant is not open every night – check with the hotel. If it is closed, you can easily head into town on the F bus or else across the road by the tennis club is the Burkia Restaurant, also highly recommended. The nearest shop is a small supermarket at the Airport which sells quite a wide variety of food and drink including wine, beer and sandwiches. All in all a very decent hotel. There is a sister hotel in the centre of Innsbruck which is of an equally if not slightly higher standard. Some of my colleagues stayed here as the West was fully booked. They were equally impressed. Highly recommended.

I stayed a couple of times in the Penz West in 5min walking distance to Innsbruck airport between flights. The staff is very friendly, helpful and always know, what they are doing and how to do things right. The rooms are spacey with electric shades, minibar, comfortable king size beds for a good nights sleep, well equipped minibar with moderate prizes, large bathroom with all necessary amenities as well as a bathrobe and shoes. Breakfast is simply perfect with everything you need for the best start into a new day: Fresh fruits, fresh fruit salads, perfectly grilled bacon, sausages, yogurts, breads, pastries etc., etc., etc. Tip: You may want to order a double cappuchino and whipped cream for the tasty fresh strawberries!! They have a gym with basic equipment for a "normal persons" workout, a steam bath and sauna with douches and chill out area. The hotel and all rooms are very clean. The rates are moderate for Austria and worth it. I would book the hotel anytime, even if it's not the company, who pays. Cons: Unfortunately there is no pool and no rec area for sunbathing. It' a business hotel. The wall power sockets: Pay attention, because the sockets are connected to the main power, which is operated through a wall switch in which you have to place your room key card and - very unfortunate - to the lamp switches as well. So if you have your smartphone and laptop connected to the sockets, they will NOT be charged when you leave the room or switch off the lights!! So at night you should NOT switch of the light on the table, but disconnect the power cord from the socket. Tip: Get a second card from reception and leave it in the wall switch, even you leave your room.

The hotel is very modern and clean, the reception very helpful. We just heard a couple of times the personnel knocking at the door in the morning to clean up the room (we were still sleaping), but a part from this all was good. Breakfast is very nice, great choice of various kind of food and fruits. Eggs could be better cooked 😅!

This hotel is located outside the downtown area, so the views are great, the room was amazing, the bed was superb and we have an excellent night. If you don't mind the distance, its a great place to stay.
