hotel rooms are very nice and location is very inconvenient to shopping centre and staff was very helpful we definitely go again to stay this hotel we have like it here feels it home it small town but it’s very enjoy our stay rate is very reasonable
We stayed in this Econo Lodge on our way home from a trip to New Orleans. We were givien room 144. The first thing we noticed was that the bathroom door would not close. When in the bathroom, you get to look at the guts of the exhaust fan - no cover plate. The shower was decent, but no soap holder so you have to put it on the edge of the tub. No coffee in the room. The office will lend you a hair dryer if you ask for it. For your breakfast you can have cereal or cereal - I think there were 2 kinds. All in all a pretty lousy place. If you are given a key to room 144, don't walk, run for you car. How this place maintains an acceptable rating with Choice Hotels I don't understand.
Door had big dent in it. It wouldn’t close properly so couldn’t deadbolt it. The phone didn’t work. Got dressed for bed and tried to turn tv on and it wouldn’t come on. Since phone didn’t work had to get dressed again walk to office which felt very unsafe to get help for tv. Floor was filthy. Shower didn’t work good. When got ready to check out was given the wrong print our receipt but didn’t know it until I left. Room had no blow dryers in it bc the staff said they get stolen.
Room is dirty. Should have remodeled years ago. TV not working right, one towel is ripped with threads hanging off of it, alarm clock looks like it is being held together with scotch tape and there is a dead bug in the bathroom. The shower does have good water pressure and hot water so at least there is that.
Very friendly staff and clean rooms! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a short stay or long stay. They were very helpful with good local food choices and accommodations around the area!
I cannot understand how anybody could give this 2, 3, 4 or 5 stars. We booked this on our way to New Orleans after 14 hours in the car. The parking lot was full of fishing boats attached to pick-up trucks taking up much of the parking lot. The room was dirty, the sheets were scratchy and did not fit onto the beds properly, causing them to come off the bed, and the outside traffic could be heard all night. If we hadn't been travelling so long, I would have left and asked for my money back. Also the room was advertised with queen size beds, and in fact the picture shows queen size beds, but they are not true queen size beds. They are longer, but only as wide as a full-size bed. This is the first time I experienced this as a description of a queen size bed in any hotel I've stayed in. Some attempt at some point was made to paint the rooms but the paint job was incomplete. The in-room phone didn't work. The lamp was missing the button to turn it on and off. The best part of this hotel was checking out!
It was a bit difficult to find at first because it had been remodeled since the last time I stayed there. It is easily accessible to downtown, to Miliken University, to shopping and many restaurants. The staff goes out of their way to help the guests. Brakfat was fantastic and they had an automatic pancake maker/baker and the pancakes were delicious. This is my home away from home when I go to Decatur.
just use my 10,000 points to get this dump on a free stay and for them to take my credit card for incidentals fraud alert worst and i mean worst hotel ever dirty no excuse clean your rooms been to a lot of hotels and u make the top 5 of just ripping guests off and for the city to allow u guys to do this is crazy and will keep track on this review since quote legal mumbo jumbo reviews are not posted on tripadvisor seem to happen alot
My wife and I travel every year for an extended period. We left home a month ago. This week we stayed at econo lodge which was absolutely horrible. Specifically, paint was peeling off the door, screws were sticking up out of the floor, ceiling plaster was coming down in multiple places, walls were cracked in numerous places, land line phone was dead, sink was mostly plugged with a bottle cap, tape around the air conditioner unit was ripped up, room window was filthy and permanently stained, 1 electrical plug was overloaded with the refer, tv, microwave, and 2 other devices. Sheets were the wrong size they were too small to be tucked in-they did not reach the bottom of the mattress. My wife woke up on the mattress cover. It was very noisy to include vehicle traffic throught the night, train whistles, and a 1am wake up -banging on our door by a business woman. The room furniture was badly carved /damaged with profanity carved into the tv stand. We went to breakfast in the lobby and immediately left without eating the fruit loops. I did try the orange juice and it was more water than juice. There is more but this is sufficient to convey a fair presentation of this hotel's condition. It was pathetic for a Choice Hotel.
The holes in the parking lot and the bad smell in the lobby should have given me a clue. Maybe I should've gone elsewhere. But I gave it a shot. Actually, the room smelled okay, and it was fairly clean. Yet, the door wouldn't close at all unless I lifted on the knob to set the door in place, not exactly comforting from a security standpoint. Breakfast was abysmal, just cereal and pastries. Overall, it wasn't horrendous. I slept okay, and no one broke in. But I wouldn't stay here again.
