Quick, courteous check-in, clean rooms, and comfy beds. Every common area from the lobby to the breakfast room was clean and well-maintained. Great free breakfast selections, a nice variety of snacks displayed next to the front desk, and easy, free parking. The pool looked like it needed some refreshing, and we were disappointed the hot tub was no longer available. Overall, we had a great stay!
From the onset it looks like a good idea to stay here.. Clean property, seems a bit aging. clean room, even the bed had the right firmness for me. Here is where it goes south. Had to get my keys rekeyed 2 times just on an overnight stay. Aparently the heater in the room was broken.. Thermostat in the room was set to 70.. I made sure it was set to heat when I went to bed.. Woke up to 61 degrees in the room.. So the heater was broken. not a great start to the day. Go down to have breakfast.. the eggs looked like water, the gravy was like water.. want some biscuits and gravy.. perhaps they should have defrosted the biscuits before putting them out.. Not a great stay at all.
I've stayed here many times for business. The rooms are always clean and staff always very helpful. That said, Internet remain the weakest link for this place. Constant connection drop or very slow internet is so painful that I may be forced to find another hotel. I spoke to the front desk about this and it's clearly an issue they know very well. One staff even explained to me that they are locked in a contract with the Internet provider, so they can't do much... If you need reliable Internet for your stay, this hotel is not a good choice. Otherwise, it's a very solid option.
Booked the hotel on Hotwire at the last minute and got a good price. I was happy to see it was a holiday inn and it did not disappoint. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Also they have a security guard which is reassuring. The breakfast wasn't the best, but I did go at the very end but I can't complain because it's free! Would definitely stay again.
Hotel staff was very accommodating to our party of 32 that included 29 High School Students. Front Desk helped us locate an ATM and place to eat that was close and a short commute, helped work around our printing challenges and tolerant of our parking lot practices and stacking our gear around the lobby. They even opened breakfast early so our teams could get in and out and deconflict a potential seating shortage between all our kids and other hotel guests. The front desk even helped us arrange for the refund resulting from overpayment with a check from our school district despite it being after hours and on a Friday. Rooms were very comfortable with excellent towels and TV channel choices. Could not have asked for anything more during our short stay.
I made the reservation via my smartphone & my ihg app, I wasn't sure about the property due to room rate being under $90 but i made it none the less. After finding the way into the parking lot (being 1/2 a block off the main drive) once i walked in the clerk warmly greeted me, i announced i have a reservation, last name Watt & i gave her my 4-cards. The very next thing i heard was: Thank You Mr Watt for being a Priority Club Member, we truly appreciate your continued loyalty. I have all your information here & I've got you on the 1st floor, i quickly interjected & asked if at all possible, may i get top floor, she advised with pleasure & quickly changed my key. She then advised me about the hot breakfast bar in the morning & pointed out the direction of the elevator & asked if i required a wake-up call. By hitting all points that are required by IHG I looked at her name tag & said thank you Jin you've been extremely helpful. Once in the room everything looked absolutely FRESH & super clean. I'm guessing that they must have completed a renovation recently with bright fresh looking decor & was pleasantly surprised to see a microwave & mini-fridge tuck away under the flat screen tv in a console. I left to attend dinner with my former sister-in-law & once back i took a shower & went to bed. Wow the bed was so form fitting, I'm guessing i past out in maybe 15-minutes. As i was checking out i could smell the aroma of the hot breakfast bar & even teared up because i wouldn't be able to indulge. Hands down simply the best Holiday Inn Express I've seen yet. If ever back in the neighborhood, yes indeed, I will stay again. Continues Success folks.
Went for the weekend to visit my brother. Staff was super friendly, quick check in, nice room and pool. The only complaint was the pancake machine wasn't working normally. Other then that it was a pretty good experience. I really liked that there was a taco stand within walking distance too.
We came to Houston for 3 days to go to Johnson space centre. We didn't have a car and organised a super shuttle from the airport, which dropped us off at the wrong holiday inn. We waited over half an hour for a cab which never came and then a lovely lady on the front desk at holiday inn Houston not express got in contact with a private driver who collected us and dropped us at the correct hotel, which unfortunately is extremely hard to find u less you have been there before- road works block access for the main highway and you have to come in around the back of th shops. Ten rooms were very clean ,again no restaurant or bar and we had no car. Had to work a hard 10-20 mins to shops and restaurant. They serve breakfast daily and use plastic everything (Landfill). Although we personally had a couple,of negatives if we had had a car it would have been fine.
I had a two-night stay here during a recent business trip and was blown away about the excellent customer service here. The front desk agent, Asian gal, was polite, efficient, recognized my Elite status and basicaly did everything textbook-perfect. What blown me away is the fact she called my room 10 min after I checked in, to see if everything in the room was satisfactory. Now that's some impressive customer service skills! I rarely get that level of service from a 5-star ranking high-end properties, so it really shows the level of attention to details at this property. Hotel is renovated, so the room is clean, modern and has that new signature blue/green color theme of HIE. Breakfast was the standard HIE spread, good quality everyday items but more than enough to start your day right. There are a few small issues with my room, it's nothing that impacted my stay: 1) Dish TV in-room TV runs off a satelite set top box. It was weirdly configured such that all the images are zoom'ed in, so a widescreen 16:9 image was cropped on both sides. 4:3 images are stretched so everything is short and stubby. I ran through all the settings of the box and TV itself but was not able to find a way to adjust that. 2) In room coffee maker was abused by previous guests, that may have pour soda or something into the water tank, resulting a disgusting build of slime and gunk. I ran several tank full of clear water through the brew process and it was not enough to clear the system to output clear water. Fortunately, the hotel offers hot coffee and tea in the lobby, and I was able to get my caffeine fix throughout my stay. Overall, this is an excellent HIE with a crew of awesome staff. I will definitely stay here again when I back in town for business.
We arrived at 2 and were told our room wouldn't be ready for another 30 minutes . Posted check-in time is 3:00 pm so we know its always a chance when we arrive early. Every thing about the room was as expected . it is quiet and comfortable. A nice happy hour in the evening with wine and cookies and a very nice breakfast. We will be back.
