I stayed here on the last night of a trip as I had an early flight the next morning. The hotel is convenient to the rental car drop locations and the airport. The hotel was old, but has been renovated. I could hear the planes taking off and landing, but the sound was very muted even though I was on the side facing the airport.
What a nice place to come after a long day of travel! The receptionist was so welcoming; and who doesn’t like a warm chocolate chip cookie? Our room was quiet, attractive (I liked the airport motif) and perfectly designed for our needs. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room to lay out our suitcases, toiletries, etc. The hotel is very convenient to Hobby and we will stay here again when we need airport accommodations.
We spent the night here after a week long cruise so we could catch our flight home the next day. We were released early from the ship and arrived very early (noon) but the hotel accommodated us by finding a vacant room and letting us check in early. We relaxed and utilized the onsite restaurant and found everyone to be helpful and courteous.
My husband and I needed to catch an early flight at Hobby airport, so we stayed here for one night. We stayed on a Sunday night (01/28/18). This hotel is perfect because it’s a few minutes drive from the airport. I think it’s actually half a mile away. We arrived at the hotel around 9pm. The hotel lobby was very nice. (I loved the clown fish in the aquarium). Check in was a breeze, and the two ladies at the front desk were very nice and very helpful. We asked if we could park our car in the parking lot for a couple of nights, and they said that was fine. The hotel only charges $6 per night for car parking which is much cheaper than all the airport parking places. Anyway, my husband and I each got a nice warm cookie that was very thick and delicious. I didn’t think we would get one since it was so late, so that was definitely a nice surprise. We were hungry after traveling, so we decided to eat at the hotel’s restaurant which I believe is called Boardwalk. The service was excellent. Our waitress was really nice. The food was excellent and fairly priced. Both my husband and I enjoyed our meals. Our room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We slept very well. Shower pressure and temperature were great. Checkout was fast and easy as well. In the morning, we got the shuttle service to the airport. The shuttle runs 24/7 every 15 minutes which is very convenient. The shuttle also picked us up from the airport which we appreciated. Our driver was the same on both days, and he was really nice. He’s also a great driver! All in all, this Doubletree next to Hobby airport is a great hotel! We had no problems whatsoever. All the staff are very friendly, and the hotel is very nice. I will definitely stay here again, and I would recommend it to everyone!
Staff refused to shut down an all night party. Awoke to empty cases of beer around my car in the parking lot. No sleep until after 1am. $15 breakfast was disgusting and poorer quality than most complimentary breakfasts at other hotels.
My stay at the hotel was what I needed, very comfortable and convenient to Houston Hobby airport. The room was comfortable and quiet give the close proximity to the airport. Having a very early flight in the morning, it was great to have the airport shuttle service to drop me at the departure area at the hotel...only a 3-4 minute ride from the airport. I would recommend this hotel to anyone with an early flight out of Hobby airport.
Outdated, two minutes from airport, hotel shuttle complimentary and on time. No complimentary continental breakfast was a big mistake. Beds and pillows comfortable. Felt it was overpriced for what we got.
Would definitely stay here again when traveling in the area! Employees were friendly & pleasant, check in & out was easy. Room was very clean, plenty of parking. Great location, close to car rental returns or they have shuttle to the airport.
The staff was friendly and welcoming upon arrival. The room was nice and clean. Also, for being next to the airport it was quiet. The bed set very low to the floor (below my knees), yet was super comfortable. Just weird to get out of since it was set so low. The restaurant was close during my stay and had to go next door to jack in the box.
Convenient when flying in and out of Hobby. Breakfast was outstanding. Had to change a password in my Hilton Honors app in order to access the internet - kind of a hassle. Then lost digital key because of that. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend this hotel and I intend to stay there again in the future. Housekeeping didn't make the bed, but that was ok.
