A very quaint old style Hawaiian hotel with conveniently located food and drinks right next to the pool. We are locals looking for a nice affordable overnight stay in Waikiki and this is the place.

Oasis Places

The property had a nice atmosphere, but parking was terrible. Either you have valet, which is $45 a night, and the was cheaper than most places. You park on the meter parking our find somewhere along Ala Wai, that's usually packed as well. Overall, service is answered promptly. My first room had a messed up bathroom knob, they switch me to a better room next to the poolside view. People are usually in and out here at night because of the bar services. Friday DJ is there.

The location of this hotel is wonderful....close to restaurants, shopping and Waikiki Beach. You can walk everywhere easily. It has an old world but modern charm with friendly, helpful staff. They offer complimentary amenities like coffee - espressos, cappucinos etc from 6 - 11 am and they have a fun little tiki style bar near the pool which offers good food and cocktails from 11 am until 11 pm. If you are looking for a funky small boutique hotel in a great location, I recommend the White Sands Hotel.

Great location, place is old and not very clean, staff comes arund to clean every other day or once a week not often and thats not convenient. parking is over $40.00 a day do your research there are better places around.

It's OK for the price.

It's a cool place but management has no idea how this place needs a deep cleaning. It's clean on top but grubby around every corner and nook. Front desk staff needs a course in guest management as well.

Check-in process was disjointed, as the room was not ready on time and there seemed to be confusion about whether housekeeping had cleaned it yet. Even after we were given the room key, housekeeping entered announced 10 minutes later not realizing the room had been taken care of.

A very nice place in a convenient area of town. Not too busy but close enough to get to the hustle of waikiki within 5min. Rooms and some of the common areas seem to have been updated recently. Its still has that older property feel but it's clean. Very friendly environment thats closed off to anybody that may be wandering by. Small pool but functional and there's a nice hot tub/grotto tucked away behind the swing bar. Somewhat steep resort fee but i think we got our moneys worth. On top of the beach towels, you can also borrow beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards. You can even sign out a GoPro camera. All this is included in their fee. Our room had a balcony but it faced a neighbouring hotel/apartment. They other building is so close, you could hop into their balcony no problem. Needless to say, we never used the balcony. Other thhan that, we really enjoyed our stay at White Sands.

Enjoyed our stay

Affordable room conveniently located. A bit shabby chic but the staff and vibe couldn't be beat! Swing away and enjoy a cocktail at the bar or make new friends around the pool. Everyone; both guests and staff seemed happy to be at the White Sands. Cars are conveniently valet parked right in front of hotel.
