Best Western Premier Helena Great Northern Hotel

The location is very convenient and the hotel itself is very nice, clean, new feeling, with friendly staff. Evening Cookies were rated by my kids as the best sugar cookies they had except their moms. But the breakfast needs work at all the BW we stayed at on this trip including this one (5 total different BW). The food is limited to what tastes like pre-made, pre-frozen, microwaved buffet. BW should stick with muffins and rolls for continental breakfast or get a short-order cook and make fresh buffet food.

Stayed in a deluxe room on the lower level, with access to the patio. The room was spacious, nice and clean, and rather relaxing. However the person on the main floor above us was a heavy walker, and we could hear them walking back and forth starting early in the morning. Not the best insulation in the floor/ceiling between the main floor and the lower level. It was wonderful having access to the patio, though, as we could come and go from our room and it was secured with the same electronic lock on the room door. Fortunately the 2nd night was quiet and the rest was much better.

Room was elegant and bed was phenomenal! Staff was super helpful and friendly! Steak was exquisite!

The Great Northern has the best location in Helena for restaurants and bars. The hotel is elegant, rooms are very clean and staff is friendly but not impersonal. One of the best in Montana.

Our stay was great! The staff was nice and the room was spectacular. Definitely recommended!

Very satisfied, clean, nice staff, great breakfast.

Great location in the "old town" section of Helena...walking distance to restaurants and entertainment...Jon, at the front deck, was great!

This is my third time staying at this hotel. Staff are welcoming. The breakfast is great. Pool and hot tub an added bonus on a cold day. The only negative for me are the pillows (but then I am fussy and always travel with my own - for which I was grateful with this hotel). Their pillows are plentiful but all are 'lumpy'. Other than that it is a fine hotel, centrally located with helpful staff.

call the hotel when you land and a shuttle will be at the airport in 10 minutes...worked for me for both a late 11PM arrival and an early 5AM departure...very convenient with good breakfast included, coffee in lobby all day, small business center in lobby always accessible, free internet, nice rooms, only issue is typical one of noise from corridor or overhead and adjoining rooms. great restaurant next door accessible via the lobby, can be billed to your room as well.

it was a quick trip, just one night.. no complaints. the staff is not very professional, but kind.

Overall a nice place. I would recommend to colleagues.

the restaurant was fab!!! great food

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am sorry you did not feel our breakfast was up to standards. We get many compliments about the fresh cut fruit, hash brown, bacon, scrambled eggs (we crack the eggs). We do switch out our choices daily and do us a different egg for an egg sandwich or an omelet. We do know each guest has their expectations, we are sorry that we did not meet yours. Please come see us again.

Thank you Phil - we appreciate your time to share your experience. Farmers Market has started already, every Saturday and just a couple of blocks from the hotel. Much to do and see in Downtown Helena!
