Harrisburg is actually incredibly pet friendly. You will find plenty of open areas and restaurants to bring your furry friend while visiting Pennsylvania’s capital city.
Within Kohl Memorial Park, the Happy Tails Dog Park is spread out over two acres and encompasses two separate areas for bigger and smaller dogs. Leashed dogs are welcome in Wildwood Park, where you can walk around the water. Next, Stony Valley Railroad Grade Trail is over 22 miles of trail, and the Capital Area Greenbelt is part of the Rails-to-Trails program.
Once you feel hungry, there are a few places you can visit with your pet. Tomato Pie Café has all sorts of food as well as outdoor seating for your dog. Buddha Buddha offers a number of fine cocktails and smaller meals to enjoy outdoors. They will even bring a bowl of water for your pet. If you prefer heading to a brewery, Lancaster Brewing offers a number of seasonal craft beers, delicious, classic American food as well as dog-friendly patio seating.
Little Amps Coffee Roasters has three different locations around the city and is a great place to grab a caffeinated drink with your pup. Cork & Fork serves Italian cuisine made from locally sourced ingredients. Note is located in a restored Victorian house and serves European-inspired dishes. Crawdaddys focuses on seafood and treats its guests to weekly jazz music. Flinchy’s Restaurant, Bar, and Deck dishes more casual fare with a great outdoor area.
