This has always been my go to hotel in Guatemala City. My flight going home is always in the late evening so I always request late check out. Never had a problem with that until yesterday. I told them 3 times I wanted late check out. They gave me 3 different answers. The last answer was: no problem, we will charge according to how much time more you stay in the room. This was at 11am, I left the hotel to run my last errands and when I got back at 2pm my access card had already been deactivated. Went to the counter and asked them what happened. They just got the cards back activated without much explanation. I went to my room to pack and was planning to leave by 4pm which was the time they said the latest check out was. At 3:23pm they knock on my door. I answer the door and its a hotel clerk and 3 security people. They told me, "sorry to bother you but your check out was at 1pm" I had spoken to 3 people at 3 different times about late check out. I was very dissapointed because my stay was for 4 nights, in a master suite that was not cheap and this was my third stay with them and I got treated that way. Plus, they got paid in full at check in and had a deposit so its not like I was going to leave behind a hotel bill. I will not be staying at this hotel anymore. I am sure Guatemala City has other hotels that could accomodate my needs.

The Grand Tikal is a nice place to stay. It's not where a lot of other nice hotels are located in Guatemala City, as it is outside of Zona Viva. But it is very close to the Mira Flores shopping mall which is quite nice by international standards. My concern is that the hotel is being renovated. The pool was closed for this and there was a lot of noise made in the lobby due to the renovations. The lobby is about 12 stories high, which makes for quite a cool space, but it also means that noise travels even to our room on the 7th floor. This place is nice, and with a discount it's worth it even now, but be forewarned that it you may not have the quietest stay.

First time in Guatemala was a great experience with great accommodation and great service

I'm very please with service from the staff in the hotel restaurant has excellent food, the attention they give me was first class, show from all staff knew there job, I'm definitely return, keep up the good work you are on right direction.

I went to Guatemala to visit friends and family. The staff was nice and some of them were bilingual which made it easier for me. Loved it

I stay in this hotel every time I visit Guatemala. I've been staying here for the past 10 years.

Great stay at the Grand Tikal! We stayed on the Royal Floor which was a great value including a great breakfast and cocktail hour. And the best was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on - will definitely stay again.

Excellent, excellent, excellent, this is the 2 time we stay here and will continue to do so evertime we visit Guatemala. They have it all!!!!

I enjoyed staying at the hotel. Every thing was great. Most of all my arrival time was at mid night flight was delayed really appreciated that the Hotel shuttle driver stayed until I got out holding a sign with my name on it. Otherwise would be disaster taking taxi in the middle of the night to go mid town. Thanks

it would be nice if the hotel will provide water at least everyday for the room, also at least continental breakfast!

I loved the room. Definitely a 5 star stay. Would def come back.

Et was a great experience for my self. And the family my grandougther was bery happy. Every thing was great. Exelent.

the hotel is very nice especialy for the prive. the restaurant just got a new chef to bring in new exciting food. we eill habe to wait till our next visit to taste it

We stayed at Grand Tikal for 6 nights, not a very comfortable stay. Every other time we left our room we had to get a new card to get in room and to use elevators (have to swipe room card for evelator to work, and stairway only goes to second floor, we were on 7th floor). Was stuck in lobby almost 2 hours when power went out with no explanation. Had to call and wait for tissue because they don't leave extra. Aren't allowed to take a drink from outside, so we had to pay 20 quetzales for 1 can soda which cost 6 quetzales outside. WiFi service was ok, but had to reconnect evey time we left the room. Total for room was $150 more than rates showed, after speaking to a very rude manager and 45 mins later we paid the extra and left.

Excellent. I stayed with my wife for one night, I was feeling under the weather and they had a Gift Shop that opened late and was able to buy OTC medication. The decoration and atmosphere of the Hotel was very nice, with several restaurants and bar by the main elevator. Room Service was great, breakfast at the restaurant very good too. We were able to relax at the indoor pool and Jacuzzi.

We arrived early and our room wasnt ready but staff was helpful and after about an hour of waiting we got keys and free upgrade to better room on higher floor. Hotel is on top of shopping mall so plenty of choice of food, clothes, etc All in all great stay.

Great hotel with many on site facilities. On top of that I was upgraded to better room. Definitely enjoyable stay

the hotel was good, good location friendly staff, shopping stores, food good

Everything was smooth process! Great Hotel for the Price!!!!!!
